Our visit to Levante Laudon started a bit shaky, we were given a standard room which was ok but not what I thought I had booked, it pretty much needed a good updating. Standard room has no hairdryer, no safe and on 3rd floor with a lift that only goes to the 2nd floor. After speaking to reception got moved...

Stayed in a budget room January 2017, clean, tidy, totally adequate, and very reasonable - would recommend and return myself. Staff more than helpful. Used Hoppa airport transfer service, was completely taken care of, again would recommend and use myself again in future.

Well the room itself is good enough for the 3 of us. We booked a 1bedroom apartment. Heating is working pretty well. They offer free tea and coffee near the reception which is good. But we find it quite far from the main attractions. But still fine. Reception anyway was kind enough to explain to us how to get to...

Avoid this hotel, it is more a hostel, very dirty and too expensive for what it offers. Stay away from this uncomfortable location. They said they offer for the price we paid a superior apartment with two rooms, but instead they offer one bedroom apartament and we have to sleep on an extended sofa.

This hotel is not fit for dogs let alone a family with a young child! Where do I start? The lift is not big enough to get a pushchair in so you have to carry this up a spiral staircase, this is some cases could be 1, 2 or 3 flights of stairs! On to the room, we were put...

We stayed in a superior apartment, there wasn't much difference in price between that and the standard room, and I thought the extra space was better. The apartment was really nice, great size, fairly modern furniture, comfy bed and a reasonable size kitchen. Staff were nice and friendly, and the free tea and coffee in reception was great. Reception closes...

On arrival the place looked lovely and clean and modern and I stupidly offered to pay upfront to save time on departure. We had booked to stay here so we could get to Vienna airport early in the morning. However AVOID ROOM 106 as it is next door to a nightclub that played loud music that was vibrating through the...

We stayed in the basic (double) apartment at the Levante outside of the Town Centre, and location-wise it wasn't too bad. It's about a 20-25 minute walk from the Stephansplatz square. If you can figure out the trams there's probably a quicker way into town too though. In terms of the room itself there wasn't too much wrong. The bed was...

We were very warmly welcomed by staff. Our apartment was spacious and very clean, with almost all the facilities we needed in the small kitchenette. The only downside is that the apartment was very stuffy and hot. A small fan in the corner did little to help. Its about a 15 minute walk to the old town and if you're...

Nothing too special as it's an apartment, So doesn't have the luxury of a hotel, No gym, Restaurant etc. But is very clean, comfortable, modern in a convenient location and very quiet. If I was staying in Vienna for more than a few days I would have preferred this to a hotel as you can stock the fridge & cook...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
