Stayed for 5 nights in July 2012 while attending medical conference. Staff very helpful. Close to station and metro. Close to Prater. Air-conditioned good sized rooms - even has a bar fridge - not common in Europe. Breakfast more than adequate. Luggage storage. Free WiFi in hourly blocks.

Had a wonderful stay from start to finish. Hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and breakfast was wonderful. We paid 60 Euros for a roulette room which means you could have a standard room (costing 80 Euros) or end up with something more. We were fortunately to be upgraded to one of there premium rooms which was fantastic....

My daughter and I spent three nights at the Hotel Wien during June, 2012. I so enjoyed this lovely, old hotel. Our room was a nice size with twin beds. We upgraded to an air-conditioned room as Vienna was experiencing a heat wave. The bathroom was a nice size and our room attendant kept our room in an excellent condition....

Definitely a good hotel. The position is very close to Prater and Praterstern train and metro station. You can easily reach Stephansplatz with a 5 minutes metro trip (metro and public transport in Vienna are very efficient!). Staff very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with a good choice of food for all tastes. The...

I stayed 2 nights here in a single room. Some comments say the rooms are small - inaccurate unless they are very large people? My room was lovely - it had Ensuite, safe, TV and mini bar/fridge. The staff at reception were all really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing - such a great choice - just what you...

We arrived on the 21st June and left on the 25th. The hotel is well placed for seeing all that Vienna has to offer. We booked a Superior room which was spacious but a little noisy as it was looking over the main road, but this would not put us off returning. The room was very clean and comfortable cleaned...

Very good hotel. The location is very convenient, just few steps from underground station and a walking distance to the center. Classic rooms are bit small but very clean and well organized, so if you are not expecting luxury room and don't plan to spend too much time in your room this would be OK. Breakfast is good and the...

This is a great hotel to stay in - embraces it's 3-starness fully by having a fun atmosphere, professional service, but nothing fancy. Though decor is old-school (if they replaced the curtains it would make a big difference) rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious with hooks to hang things on, and lots of shelf space and bedside-table space. Well organised....

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of May and absolutely loved it! In fact we enjoyed our stay in Vienna so much that we didn't want to return to Canada and this hotel definitely played a major role in making our trip so great. The location is ideal. The hotel is situated between two subway stations, each one...

This would be a 5 star review if the guest room were wider and the shower larger. The reception staff were amicable, knowledgeable and professional - some of the finer attributes of the hotel. And the breakfast staff were exceptionally cheerful and obliging. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I experienced in all of Austria: a large selection...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
