I have to say that, for the first time, I was disappointed when following the advice of Tripadvisor. The hotel is clean and in a good position, the staff is friendly, rooms have some pieces of antique furniture, but there is nothing so exceptional as to justify it being number 2 in the whole of Vienna! The price (125 EUR...

My friend and I stayed at Pension Domizil from Friday 24 September until Sunday 26 September. We arrived having previously stayed in Prague (at the Anders Design Hotel) and Budapest (NH Budapest). Comparisons with these excellent hotels are unavoidable. Domizil is small and dated, closer in character to a large British bed & breakfast than a hotel. The twin room...

The location is fabulous, right in the heart of the action. The rooms are great, creatively decorated and the service is wonderful. The ONLY negative is that the hotel is located on the same street as one of Mozart's homes, so it is very, very, VERY noisy at all hours. Especially in the morning with the tour buses cruising endlessly...

I stayed at Pension Domizil in June with my husband as part of our European vacation. The reviews I read ahead of time were right, the service, staff and location were excellent for those looking to sightsee. Of course, as with all European hotels, the rooms are a bit smaller, but the Standard room I reserved at the Domizil was...

Although it isn't the best cityhotel we have ever visited, and although i don't think that the Dutch traveller will rate this hotel the same way as the average American tourist, i have to say that the location, breakfast and rooms are very nice up to superb! (especially the location). Staff was friendly but not more than that. But what...

Stayed in this hotel in June 2004, and was really impressed with the value for money (100 Eur including breakfast), friendliness of the staff and the great location (in the shadow of Stephansdom Cathedral in the heart ov Vienna). Breakfast was great, rooms were very spacious and the staff were extremely helpful with dinner recommendations etc. A gem

Location cannot be beat! Rooms were neat, clean; staff was friendly and helpful. Free internet access on their computer in the lobby was a plus. Breakfast was delicious. I felt this was a real "find" in the middle of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel - location is a stone's throw from St Stephen's. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room (302) was basic but and excellent size by European (and NA) standards. Buffet breakfast was varied with a good selection of hot and cold. Most importantly thhe coffee was excellent. Free internet service in the lobby was very useful - because it was...

The Hotel Domizil is the perfect hotel to stay at while in Vienna. The location can't be beat, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice size for European hotel rooms, the bath had 2 separate parts, toilet in one room, sink and shower in the other. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety. I...

This little hotel is located in the heart of the city, very convenient and comfortable. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful except for this one man. He's around mid fifties, very unfriendly and not at all helpful. I couldn't be bothered with him not until he yelled at my boyfriend over some taxi issue just before we left for...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
