The Palais Coburg Hotel ResidenzThe Palais Coburg in the heart of Vienna offers culture and luxury comfort to its guests in elegant ambiance. Here it is possible to experience six centuries of building history in an architectural piece of art which was built on the former defence wall of the emperor's city, and as it was in the 19th century , the late residence of the House of Coburg-Gotha with its grand ceremonial rooms is still a venue for elegant representation. Furthermore the Palais Coburg is a place for culinary indulgence, presentation of rare wines and a house in which guests, who love the extraordinary, like to linger.35 suites offer guests of Palais Coburg between 54 m² and 165 m² - an average of 100 m². Most of the suites are spread over two stories and each is uniquely furnished and presents a fascinating combination of valuable historic elements, technological conveniences and modern design. Each suite is dedicated to an important member of the Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha family dynasty who was significant in the history of Palais Coburg. In this way the suites of Palais Coburg also honour the service of royal families from Great Britain, France, Hungary, Portugal, Bulgaria, Belgium and Austria.Chef Silvio Nickol and his team are synonymous with creative cuisine of the highest level. The gourmet restaurant at the Palais Coburg is a place of comprehensive, contemporary dining culture. Creative interpretation of classic dishes and exceptionally composed innovations as well as subtly arranged interaction of food and wine are the main topics. In the wine list more than five thousand positions are listed. The sommeliers are devoted to the care and best presentation of fine wines and Chef Silvio Nickol provides adequate creations to accompany the exceptional vintages from the Palais Coburg Wine Archive .The Basteigarten Restaurant we will offer our guests light and creative cuisine throughout the day. Also, the concept with two exceptional premises, the Garden Pavilion and the Wine Bar which exhibits the harmonious integration of a modern architectural element into a historic setting, will remain unchanged. The extensive Bastion Garden is also available to our guests during the warm months of the year. Leisurely hours can be pleasantly spent under the large trees in the attractively arranged garden while enjoying superb cuisine. Exquisite coffee and a comprehensive breakfast choice offer an inspiring day’s beginning. A lunch menu that displays finesse without being pretentious can be enjoyed with an outstanding selection of wines. Freshly baked cakes, pastries and famous Viennese coffee specialties invite one for a relaxing afternoon break. In the evening, our extraordinary selection of wines can be enjoyed with exceptional dishes created especially to accompany them. The Palais Coburg has several event venues which offer various ambiences. The Bastion Foyer in the entrance area exhibits a distinctive combination of modern architecture with historic architectural substance. Above the city mural, one gains entry to the mundane Coburg vaults in the first cellar storey. The red brick walls of the underground casemates take one back to the Renaissance era and immerse the guest in the history of the Palais and the Bastion of Vienna. In the second story, the Beletage, one finds the Johann Strauss Concert Hall and the Ceremonial Rooms which have been restored to their original splendor from the 19th century. Two outdoor staircases lead from the Ceremonial Rooms to the Bastion Garden. The office rooms of the Beletage offer modernly equipped offices in rooms with elegant and historic atmospheres. All of these venues are furnished with high quality materials and modern technology to ensure the guests of Palais Coburg an exquisite experience and make the aspired goals of event organizers possible.

We were warmly welcomed - even though we arrived far too early to book in ( but it’s never too early for champagne!). The suite was well appointed and stocked and extremely comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful but unobtrusive - assistance and service were impeccable. The food was excellent again with excellent service. A highlight for us was the historical tour of the PALAIS which was arranged for us. It was memorable.

On arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff they had prepared for our arrival arranging airport transportation. Once in house we were immediately taken to our room where Champaign had been placed welcoming us on a special occasion. We did have one accessibility issue for us and the staff made arrangements to accommodate our needs in a different room than we had reserved. They went above and beyond to meet our needs. Rooms are exceptional and have kitchenettes with stocked refrigerators, coffee makers and all necessities. The bedding and towels were well supplied and replenished throughout the day. Their attention to detail and our needs were excellent. Our concierge obtained opera tickets which were excellent on short notice and arranged drivers and guides. We did a private hotel tour with Gunter the manager which is remarkable and very enlightening regarding the old city walls and defenses which are now an integral part of the hotel. The preservation is remarkable. His history review of Clementine was helpful in understanding the history of Austria and the hotel. I recommend the tour and suggest one consider the wine tour. These are only available to guests and worth the time. Security is excellent with 3 secure doors and elevators to your suite. The suite was very comfortable and furniture comfortable and functional. Lighting is excellent. Room service for breakfast is excellent and you could set your watch by the arrival time. We have been so impressed with the culinary experience at the Palais. The doormen are very attentive and helpful as are the front desk staff. The housekeeping staff are very discrete and work around your schedules. I will certainly return and we have experienced how attentive and service oriented the entire staff have been. Every issue was addressed and services down to shoe polishing were accomplished seamlessly. We highly recommend the Palais Colburg after our recent stay. Its location close to the Vienna shopping and old city is very convenient. Cabs and Ubers readily available.

Should be 5 stars but allowing smoking in the outside dining/café will always cost you a star - smoke stinks. Food for lunch and breakfast was disappointing but coffee was top notch. Silvio Nicol was amazing. We loved the spa and the sun deck.

First the location is so central and you can get anywhere very easily. The ring tram is one block from entry. The hotel and rooms are stunningly gorgeous. The room that we stayed in is so spacious. It had one bedroom, kitchenette, full dining room, entry and a full bath with walk-in shower and a second half bath. The bedding is very luxurious with soft down pillows and comforter. The blanket is also soft down and very comforting. The people working here are amazingly helpful and kind. All of them. Whoever does the hiring should be praised. Gunther is real gentleman and his only interest is to make our stay comfortable and welcome. His team at the front desk, Tamara, Franziska and new trainee, Ana are the day crew. The were so helpful in so many ways. Always available and willing to do anything and everything for us. The night crew, Yusef and Zeljko took care of a few minoradjustments even late as we were checkin in. Sasha and Kornel were in charge of greeting people at the door. They were such nice gentlemen. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Ashish was also really nice and helpful. I hope that I have not left anyone out because they all contributed to making sure our stay was so good. The people who took care of the rooms have done superb job. I had the good fortune to attend a private wine tasting in their cellar. For those who don’t know Palais Coburg actually has the largest wine collection of the greatest wines in the world. I cannot remember if it 30,000 or 60,000 bottles. Niklas who did the tour for me is a young sommelier who knows a lot. He also works in the 2 Michlin star restaurant on the premises. He guided me magnificently. He tells the whole story of the rebirth of Palais Coburg by the new owner. “You get treated like royalty staying here. We LOVED staying here.

The hotel combines stunning palace architecture with a modern glass extension in a truly remarkable way. The rooms are incredibly spacious and clean, although the furniture feels a bit outdated. It would be nice to add a touch of modernity to the decor. We stayed in a room overlooking the garden, but unfortunately, the garden itself turned out to be quite small. Nonetheless, the staff was highly attentive and friendly, doing everything in their power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel features two restaurants, one of which boasts a delightful open terrace and a beautifully decorated glass pavilion. It's a fantastic spot for breakfast, although the overall food quality is average. However, the hotel also boasts a Michelin two-star restaurant, which adds to its culinary offerings. The spa on the top floor is equipped with an open terrace, a small pool, and a fitness center that operates 24 hours a day. While everything is decent, it lacks that "wow" factor. Overall, the hotel offers a pleasant experience, but it falls short of being exceptional.

"Splendour and elegance in Five Star luxury. A grand hotel with magnificent suites, ballrooms, fantastic food, extensive spa and one of the best wine cellars in the world. For the luxury traveller.”. BUT WITH A HIDEOUSLY INCONGRUOUS GLASS ENTRANCE IN THE BASTEI WHICH RUINS THE WHOLE FRONTAGE. IT IS IN AN ATTRACTIVE AND UNSPOILT IMPORTANT AREA OF VIENNA. ITS AMAZING THAT THIS WAS CONDONED BY THE VIENNA COUNCIL. But money talks I guess. Compare it with the Imperial and Bristol entrance facade.

I love Vienna and my stay at Palais Coburg was such a delightful experience with an impeccable service throughout. Ideal location to explore Vienna and its treasures. I ate at the Clementine Restaurant where the service was faultless, the Guinea Fowl dish with apple & sherry was delicious and so was the Chocolate & Mirabelle cake. A truly magical to stay and I will be back ! Thank you so much !
