A beautiful hotel with incredible views. We only stayed here just the one night before moving on, but we wish it could have been longer! Fabulous rooms, immaculate and fitted out to a high standard. Great for a special occasion. The restaurant on the 57th floor is also a must! The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.

We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel. The hotel was a mix of minimalist, industrial with an ultra modern slick feel about the whole decor from arrival into the reception area, to the bedroom and everything in between. The staff we encountered were very professional and hyper efficient. They made us feel important and special as we were celebrating an important occasion there. We reserved a Level Room which meant we had a Danube view, a total floor to ceiling of glass walls for an unobstructed and amazing views, even on a rainy evening in July.

As we reserved a Level Room had access to the “The Level Room” for complimentary drinks and snacks, which we sampled In a beautiful setting, overlooking the Danube at the top of the DC Tower before we went to dinner at the “57”, their top floor restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast was served on the 57th floor, a real treat. It was relaxed and un-rushed, supervised by very attentive staff constantly buzzing around.

The quality of service, their attention to detail with very personable staff throughout our stay made is a very special place indeed. Perfection!

Melia Hotel in Vienna is the perfect place where accommodation, professionalism of the staff, cleanliness and location are found at the highest level. During our stay we appreciated the care of the staff for the needs and expectations of the clients, as well as the attention paid at the highest level for the comfort in the rooms and the comfort of the tourists. The location and facilities of the hotel bring added value that make guests feel great during their stay. We will return for sure to Melia hotel in the future!

Extremely dirty room/bathroom/toilet/linens .....
Room Service huge delays and very limited choices for food and drinks. Not assistive people on room service call center.
Service people not so professional for 5 star hotel.

If you need something from the reception of the Melia Hotel you need to call at least 10 times before they answer instead answering immediately as a 5 stars hotel should do.

Very sadly the manager of 57 restaurant was unacceptable since he offered us campaign as a start but we asked for the wine list instead but he did not bring the wine list to us..maybe he felt sensitive that we have not wanted campaign as he initially offered Hahaha!! Finally a lady brought the wine list to us after 30 minutes that our starters were already on the table!!(((

Definitely and overall, we are talking for a Hotel that is not value for money 300€ / night.

Dear Traveler70303, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. Please accept our sincere apology for having failed to meet your expectations. It is our biggest aim to provide our guests with a faultless stay and create special memories for them and we usually receive a very positive feedback about our friendly and personalized service. Therefore, I deeply regret that you could not experience our usual way of working, also regarding the cleanliness. Such exceptional situations do not meet our Meliá Standard and I promise that we have already taken measures. Furthermore, I want to inform you that quality is one of our top priorities in all departments of the hotel and that is why we do not want that it gets lost through excessive food supply. We still trying to offer a wide variety of food in our menu, including also vegetarian meals and focus on seasonal and regional ingredients. Thank you again for your stay and feedback. Our guests’ opinion is with utmost importance, so please be assured that we have taken note of your comments. Best regards from Vienna, Astrid Zupan

The hotel is very reasonable priced . While not within walking distance the public transportation and Uber are very convenient. We got to Musikverein in 15 min and paid Uber 18 euros. I stayed at other central locations in Vienna in the past but there is no comparison. This hotel is new renovated the showers are amazing the housekeeping is great. Thank you for the lovely fruit and macaroons ( fresh lingonberry in December, in Vienna?? ) and thank you for being very attentive. I traveled with a friend and his parents who are in the 70s and not Europe- literate ( just tell them to talk about strange things such as neoclassicism). The staff was very patient with us because we stayed an extra day and the entry pass needed to be re- keyed. I wish I recall the name of the pm manager on duty 12/22/2019 because she was fantastic. Anyway in the future I will not bother looking for other places to stay, melia it is! Of note if you have a car 30 euro/ night in their parking is very good deal.

At the illustrious 5-star Melia in Vienna, the housekeeping service is so exclusive you get to personally invite them over, not once but twice! The EV charging offers a leisurely, wallet-lightening experience at just 80 EUR after a full day's slow charge. The fitness room is an intimate affair, where you're never more than an arm's length from your workout buddies. Breakfast has a charming DIY aspect, forcing a brisk trip back to your room for forgotten payment cards. The local flair is maintained with a German-only speaking breakfast greeter, immersing you fully, regardless of your language preference. At reception, they firmly believe in empowering guests to solve their own technical woes with public utilities. The hotel's unique location ensures you're briskly awakened by potent winds every morning, a literal breath of fresh air. Secluded in an office oasis, the hotel guarantees a daily subway venture to Vienna's delights, with the lone exception of a nearby Danube island. Lastly, the breakfast, an unassuming affair at 29 EUR, ensures your taste buds remain grounded in simplicity.

It's been almost 7 years since I last stayed in this hotel, but it seems Meliá hasn't been able to offer a real experience that one would expect from them, and being a platinum member for just over 10 years, I thought that at this time everything would run as smooth as silk.
No communication from the hotel whatsoever although we mailed them in advance. Mediocre check in by young girls who don't even know the company's policy regarding perks and compliance. My status nor preferences were not met, besides when I first complained about the room, I was ignored and nobody from the reception did anything to solve the issue.
It is impossible to access the The Level lounge on 56th floor if someone doesn't escort you there which means changing elevators and using the key card which many times didn't work.
After I managed to get in touch with guest experience manager and the GM, they quickly made necessary arrangements. And I thank them for that. Both persons where open and cooperative, however it is not my job to show them what I should have been granted and what not.

The hotel itself is beautiful and Coleen but lacks of staff, everywhere I went, everything was empty or closed. No staff anywhere. The hotel is not functional at all, you cannot find it, as even now the signage has not been installed, you can find the entrance only if you previously stayed here. If you stay on 15th floor, first you have to go down and change the elevators (which are hidden and need a card to even activate the elevator screen from the corridors and then you can go up to 57th floor where breakfast takes place and where the small Te Level longer is located. The breakfast was good and the staff helpful, however the Lounge experience was rather poor, with almost no snacks between the hours, no fruit and nothing. Everyone I visited the key didn't open the door and inside many tables were not cleaned nor the bar stocked regularly. It was a hard task to manage to speak with the staff there in order to prepare some special evening snack for me due to my intolerance.
The room was ok, and I slept very well. Some items were missing and the layout is really awkward and non-functional. Like watching the TV from the bed.
The hotel management need to hire competent staff who know something about hospitality and train mega hard the existing staff in order to improve aspects such as customer care and dealing with request.
I paid reasonable rate (rates start at 145€+-) but would not stay here again unless other similar hotels were available. Btw: I was charged full amount at check in before hand!!!
It is not really worth paying Meliá for getting "ghost" platinum perks if you get the same in other hotels for less!

Hungry after 10 PM? Good luck. Room service is closed, and the reception recomends that you use the vending machine. And what a surprise, the vending machine does not work. Not even a chocolate in your room.
Other issue, after 24h in transit they made me wait 45 min at the lobby because they couldn't find out if the agency was covering my stay or not. When I was tired of waiting and decided to check if they found my reservation, the person in reception decided to lecture me on how the travel agency should have made their job. Zero for hospitality.
The bed and the shower are very nice. It seems to be a place that USED to be the good.
Not a good experience, and made Vienna look bad.

Stayed years ago in this hotel. Location next to the Danube is great, if you want to strol at the beaches and restaurants.
Melia lost on quality since. The food was not as ordered and the extras asked for such as fresh pepper never arrived. Rooms aged. Upon arrival objects from person having the room before still within.. in addition some objects found in the shower which rise the question upon the quality of cleaning. Covid cannot be used as excuse...

We have just spent 2 nights 3 days at this hotel!

First thing when you get off the plane get the train to Vienna centre by buying a 48 hour unlimited travel pass but make sure you validate it whilst going through first entrance to train or bus. Do not pay taxi fares from airports as they rip you off massively.

It’s easy to get the hotel once you reach the city centre and takes around 10 minutes!

Hotel staff were nice and the hotel itself is very clean.

How far is this from the Center & Xmas markets ?
Answer from travleller_10
England78 contributions25 helpful votes
6 stops on the ubahn which is about 10 minutes journey. Trains every 5 minutes take you directly into the centre. By cathedral. There is one Xmas market outside st Stephen’s cathedral. Others in walking distance or a quick change to another line. The ubahn is 5 minutes walk and you can buy tickets on line. We bought 3 day ticket on phone but it was never looked at . Concierge will give you a little map which is very easy to read. Biggest market is by city hall about a 15 minute walk if you like walking.
