Very well placed hotel next to Museumquartier, not far from other Naschmarkt and subway. Old renovated house with lot of paintings and art objects. Small problem was double bed which consisted from 2 separate beds. Didn't use restaurant or sauna, but wi-fi was free and working.

We just loved this hotel. We arrived in Vienna by train from Milan and took a cab to this hotel. Even the cab driver raved about this hotel on the way! It is at a terrific location, an easy walk to many sights. Our family of 3 had a triple room which was a large, L-shaped space with a small...

Perfect surprise in a great location & one block from the U2 Museum Quarter subway stop which can get you anywhere in Vienna in 15 minutes. Close to museums, restaurants, shops... Friendly & helpful staff, beautiful & quiet rooms, and superb breakfast buffet. Loved the in-room expression machine and the towel warmer. Our room was next to the elevator, but...

We had a wonderful stay in Hotel das Tyrol (mind you the entrance is not on the Mariahilferstrasse 15, but just before the corner in the small side street, called Konigs Klostergasse). The very high ratings for this hotel are very deserved indeed. It really is a very nice hotel with wonderful art inside at every floor. The double room...

Hotel easy to get to from Vienna airport. We took CAT ( express train) to Mitte - change for subway - take 4 stops with U3 and change for 1 stop with U2 - and then you walk 2/3 minutes. Good location of hotel - for rainy days very close to many museums plus plenty of umbrellass for free use...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
