Ideally situated near Praterstern station - 7 mins walk from the station , the hotel was clean and the room was ideal for what we wanted . We had room 19 on the 2nd floor in the corner and we found the room neat, clean and quite newly fitted out . Has all the things you need and you don't...

Unfortunately I am oblied to write a negative review for this hotel. I want to avoid that another guest has the same bad experience as I had and I think this hotel needs to change a lot of things. I arrived to this hotel on Wednesday and after check-in, I went to my room. I noticed that I had no...

Quite overpriced. At this price point there are several nicer other alternatives, or cheaper ones at the same level of value. They purport to be a four-star hotel but I never saw a four-star without air conditioning... Rooms are very clean, comfortable (when it's not hot) and complete with minibar. Not big however, just normal for a three star hotel....

The only plus is that is near the city center, like 15 minutes walk. We had big problems with the parking, which was partly our fault because we didn't let them know we have a car when we made the reservation. So we paid the parking at every two hours, until 10 p.m., waiting for the next day, when -...

We had the triple room which was really good, very well designed and spotlessly clean. Only two downsides to the room were the lack of air con and the towels were shabby. As the room was hot we had to leave the window open so there was noise in the morning. Come out of high summer and it wouldn't be...

The positives: The staff is friendly and attentive, the high ceilings are a plus, and my room was clean and large. The train station is also about 5-10 mins walk and its a short ride to the city Centre. That said: It seems Austrian standards are pretty lax as this place is by no stretch of the international imagination a...

It's a nice hotel, 10 minutes from the subway to the center of Vienna. It's not a nice neighborhood at night, with questionable guys wandering around a couple of neighborhood strip clubs. My wife was not comfortable. Parking is right at the hotel, if you can find a spot. I was three blocks away one night. The rooms are nice,...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
