We stayed there while sightseeing Oslo. Good parking. Long walk to the tram to get into Oslo (longer walk back as uphill). Staff were ok. breakfast was ok. Low cost facility. Had trouble plugging phones and computers in of a night as not many power outlets in room. No cooling so was hot in summer. no screens on windows so...

This hostel is a boarding school during the rest of the year (hostel in the summer) and this reflects in its good and bad points. Good: decent but not exciting buffet breakfast, lots of parking, quiet out of town location next to a forest for walking/running, central zone has free coffee/juice all day, 2 pool tables, table tennis, a range...

Clean, quiet, a comfortable bed. But the location is nearly an hour — 1/2 by tram, 1/2 by an uphill kilometer walk — from Central Oslo. You will pass a SPAR supermarket on your left on that walk to Ronningen; this is you last chance to buy groceries or supplies, so grab them if you can, otherwise it’s a long...

I stayed here for a couple of nights after a month-long work trip in central Oslo, because I fancied a bit of a bike ride around North Oslo area. The location is mesmerisingly beautiful and the view looks our over Maridalsvannet lake and the hills -- it couldn't be better placed for anyone wanting to hike or bike on gorgeous...

As part of a Scout excursion, we travelled to Oslo following an international Jamboree in Stavanger. We tried to keep things as cheap as possible, so chose this hostel to stay in. We walked down from the train station to the subway station, and took a short ride to a new stop. We came out of the small subway station...

I truly recommend this hostel. It provides good standard in sleep quality, calm environment and very clean everything. Breakfast buffet was well stocked (including some Norwegian specialities). This hostel is very price wise choice in Oslo, on the other hand the commuting to city centre can take some time (cca 40 minutes via public transport, don´t go downtown via your...

Having stayed in a lot of hostels over the past few years, I'm surprised by the low score, because Oslo Hostel Rønningen YMCA truly is a great hostel. Situated just outside of the city, it is perfect for anyone who wishes to combine visiting the city with walks in the hills. It is a short walk to the nearest bus...

Last year I went to Norway, directly Oslo. As we know Norway is very expensive that is why I chose hostel, not hotel. This hostel is located in good place and quite cheap in Norway standards. I think that the quality of service is better than average in Europe, it's not only place to sleep. You can talk with receptionist...

make your booking in advance since is very popular among travelers for good location and being rather cheap for Oslo. On arrival you will pay for sheets sperately - odd but quite common for all Norway accomodation. Do not take breakfast, most of rooms have kitchenette and you can buy great food from stores near by and make a great...
