Depending on where you get a room the hotel is in need of upgrades or maintainance.
The location of the hotel is good, Skien is not a "tourist" spot in my opinion but the hotel is nicely situated by the harbour, with restaurants close by. There is some noise from the restaurants if you have the "seaside" view so if you require a silent room ask for one in the rear of the hotel.
Breakfast and evening meals were superb and worth the visit.

The staff at chek-in was very firendly, the room was nice, but the free WIFI did not work properly at times when many people were using it.
The guest parking was full and we had to use public parking close by.
The breakfat buffet had good choices and was tasteful.

I stayed two months in hotel.Hotel is properly organized for COVID situation. Two meals especially breakfast were very good.Staff is very pleasant and professional. Cleaning of room was not so frequent (even during COVID).

So I have now been here 3times and this is absolutely the last. The location is absolutely the best in town. That’s were it ends. Food is included. I have looked at it every time and walked out. There must be a lower bar for what you can get away with. The shawarma bar 5min away was my dinner tonight.
Breakfast is same. I find some early lunch or a gas station instead.
I booked a better room and got small worn out room today together with I walked up wery close to the reception stared at the the woman for 5min and got ignored at the last I sat down until the reception manager found me. A minut after. Now I am just pist off I canceled my 2end overnight and I am never coming back to this Clarion anymore.

Spacious hotel right beside Telemark canal. Old Irish pub and Lektern are good bars right along the hotel. They serve dinner and breakfast, which was usual but good. Rooms are spacious, even for 2 adults and a 12 yr old.
Parking costs roughly 150 NOK for a night. The church and many restaurants are at walking distance.

A short business trip with one layover.
The hotel is cheap and nicely located in the middle of Skien, within walking distance to pretty much everything.
The staff were great but the rooms a bit small and had older furniture.

It’s a hotel with a very friendly atmosphere, excellent service, we were feeling really welcome and almost like at home. There is breakfast, evening meal and midday snack. The hotel is situated in the center of the city, at the water front. There is some noise during weekends because of customers of the neighbouring night clubs. The hotel has no own parking place, but there are many parking places in the surrounding.

Nice beds. Good food. Everything near. Free parking nearby in nights. Temperature control in the rooms very poor. Controlled centrally and by one unit in the room. They contradict. Be aware if sensitive!

It’s a nice place to stay for business trip, the building is alright, room a bit worn but very clean. Food are simple but homey. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I enjoy the cafe next door and the play ground next to the hotels. Easy to walk to Sentrumsveien too!
