Went there last night to celebrate a twin‘s 50th and my own 49th birthday. Beautiful place, great atmosphere, good food. Worth a visit and more ! Nice music in the background, interesting art on the walls, the building has been beautifully renovated, what a great setting ❤️

This is an old place for coastal trafikk and merchandice in the County Gulen in Sogn and Fjordane. 1,5 hour trip from Bergen by boat (from Bergen kai terminal) or by car and ferry Leirvåg -Sløvåg . The road the last 30 minutes however are not for beginners (narrow roads and spectacular steep bridges). Authentic norwegian coast place unspoiled by tourists and used by the local people. The food is nice and the price is lower than Bergen city. The place has a statue of the norwegian King Olav V. The place has a small Hotel. In july every summer the place hosts a music festival called Utkant. Only thing i missed was an espresso. Sometimes tourist offices accomodate trips to Sognefjord including stop in Skjerjehamn. The boat can also take you to Eivindvik. Nice shop with really good coffe (see opning hours before going).

We took the Norland tour "Through the Magical Whirlpools to Skjerehamn". The cruise was scenic and beautiful - though a little cool and breezy. We thought it was funny that we were reminded several times that we must disembark at Skjerjehamn "immediately" and await the return boat. Turns out they weren't kidding these guys made the stop and departure in under two minutes (At least one other stop was 50 seconds)! They have a schedule to keep. At Skjerjehamn, some of our fellow passengers walked to the statue of Olav V, while others of us headed for our free waffle and coffee. We eventually saw the whole property, which was relaxing and peaceful. Funny thing about the statue - It's only here because Oslo rejected it and it got purchased by John Braanaas. This was a perfect choice for getting out of town and onto the water.

Skjerjehamn is remote and beautiful. Went today, the first day of the 2017 season. The weather was warm and sunny. The weather added to the spectacular views. The boat journey to Skjerjehamn takes under 80 minutes. About 10 day passengers disembarked at the island as the boat continued up the Sogne Ffjord. Another boat picked us up about 50 minutes later. The scenery is the selling point of this trip. The boats provide little in the way of tourist information either over the public address systems or the onboard screens. The cleanliness of the Windows on the return boat did little to improve the views. I was able to stay outside taking in the views on both the outgoing and return journeys given the good weather. Loved the views, enjoyed the scenery and would recommend the trip if those are the things for which you are looking. There is a limit to what one can do at Skjerjehamn - soaking up the atmosphere was possible today because there were limited numbers heading for it. On a wet day, with limited visibility this is decidedly a trip to be avoided.

I took the half day round trip from Bergen to here and found myself alone at this lovely place. Probably because of the weather , nobody else was getting off but this is a very beautiful and laid back place with an unexpected large wooden hall with a great bar, food and lovely people. Would have been perfect with better weather but still a magical place
