The Belle Tout Lighthouse at Beachy Head is a B&B with a difference. Built in 1832 and decommissioned in 1902, a tea-shop, a home, part-destroyed during the second world war and lovingly rebuilt in the 50's. Owned and filmed by the BBC, moved due to erosion - and now, beautifully restored and renovated. With 360 degree views of the English Channel, beautiful landscape, countryside and the enigmatic Seven Sisters, Belle Tout is a remarkable place to stay. With themed rooms such as 'The Captains Cabin', 'Old England' and 'Keepers Loft', the accommodation and facilities will ensure a comfortable and memorable break.

A unique and magical venue that didn’t disappoint. The Lighthouse is super impressive and the views staggering. Given the historic value of the property it was great to see the effort that had gone into making it the most special place to stay and somewhere that’s clearly adored and treasured by the Manager Ian. Throughout the building there are many jaw-dropping moments and stunning original features – the most spectacular of which is of course the Lantern Room. There are great little notes & folders dotted around to help with your stay and Ian was more than happy to give recommendations on places to visit and eat. Breakfast was awesome and very well presented and the welcome drink & snacks were a nice touch.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and we had a fantastic time. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until the time we left. The staff (Julie, Ian and Denise) were extremely friendly and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The rooms are cosy, the lounge area is very comfortable, the views are incredible and the breakfasts are amazing. There were also a few delightful little touches that made our stay more memorable - Julie baked some rock cakes that were delicious and there is a drinks reception between 5 and 6 every evening when the host welcomes guests and shares their knowledge of the surrounding area. This contributed to a homely atmosphere where guests could relax and enjoy the surroundings. We are already planning our next visit.

This lighthouse is real gem. Whilst there we watched Grand Designs and Mr. and Mrs. Shaw’s creativity, insight and financial acumen in getting this lighthouse renovated for us to enjoy it. It was like being home from home sitting by the log fire in the evening with Ian and the other guest. Ian is a first class chef and breakfasts were a real treat and out of the ordinary. Lots of lovely touches. A great experience. Bringing the breakfast coffee up to the tower to while away an hour was a memory to treasure. A real treat. A real gen.

This place was delightful... From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by Ian to the moment we left and all hugged goodbye. What a wonderful and unique experience we had at Belles Tout Lighthouse. The accommodations were all top-notch with comfortable beds, nice bedding and big, fluffy towels. The attention to detail was outstanding. Our breakfast was amazing and Ian is a very talented chef--offering sophisticated and delicious breakfast meals. Also, the evening social hour was quite special and gave us a nice opportunity to meet fellow travelers in a warm, lovely and inviting setting. Of course, the top of the tower has the most fantastic views and a fun and eclectic selection of music to listen to while taking in a 360° panaramic view of the Seven Sisters (a portion), the quaint country side and the magnificent ocean in all it's glory. I highly recommend this extraordinary place for anything from a romantic getaway to a fun friend and family trip.…

The Keeper, Ian, greeted us and carried our bags to our rooms. He made us feel right at home. My sister knew I loved lighthouses and booked this amazing place where we could see a 2nd lighthouse from our rooms. The views were stunning and the rooms are very comfortable. I was in the Beach Room. The bed was super comfortable and there was plenty of room for my bag and items on the desk. The bathroom is plenty big with a nice showers. You won’t spend much time in there because you’ll be looking out the windows all the time. The grassy rolling hills have stunning views and dinner at the near Beachy Head Pub was really nice. Breakfast at Belle Tout is cooked to order and the evening happy hour was a nice touch. We even saw Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites one night when up in the lantern room!! It’s very quiet at night but many visitors from nearby visit the rolling hills during the day. They can’t be on the lighthouse property so it feels very special. I highly recommend Belle Tout for any celebration or any reason. You won’t be disappointed.…

This was our 4th visit to this wonderfully quirky B&B, we love it so much. All the staff are just so friendly and we met the owner this time and he was exactly the same. It's location is just incredible, see attached photos, close to the edge of the cliffs with wonderful views of the sea and south downs. There is a welcoming drink at 5pm in the evening where you will be told about the incredible history of the lighthouse, including the fact that it was moved 60ft away from the cliff edge in the 1990s. The rooms are all very comfortable and you can even stay in a round one at the bottom of the tower, albeit a bit cosy! You will definitely not go hungry with the delightful breakfasts they provide each morning, including a daily special, such as a woodland muffin, as shown in the attached image. This is one B&B you definitely need to stay at. We will be going back again.…

What an amazing and unforgetable stay! We loved everything about Belle Tout - from the 360 degree views, to complimentary drinks and nibbles (a great way to connect with other guests or head up to the lantern room to enjoy the views with a wine / gin / beer, and Julie and the team's warm and welcoming hospitality, and local knowledge. Fluffy towells, comfy bed and nice products. Breakfasts were delicious and very generous, and the history of the buidling is facinating too. Thanks, Julie for a marvellous stay - we hope to be back!
