We stayed here Monday night (10th August) and were very pleased with our choice of hotel. COVID being taken very seriously here and staff fastidious in their approach. Check in was thorough and friendly. Made use of the parking permit supplied by the hotel for just £2.00 - do get this before you pay for any roadside parking. Our Sea View room was on the top floor, the views are magnificent. For the price you pay, the room is a reasonable size, the large double bed very comfortable. Our only word of caution is regarding the toilet/shower room - it is certainly compact. We suspect that larger than average adults may struggle a little in the very limited space. Breakfast can be taken by booking a 15 minute slot in which you need to arrive during their normal operating hours. The breakfast itself is adequate. Overall, an enjoyable stay, we would stay here again.…
My friend and I stayed over Christmas with a tour. This is not the first time we have stayed in this hotel and there are many reasons we chose this hotel. It is a family run hotel and the family are very welcoming and friendly. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The location is excellent being on the seafront and close to the town. The food is very good. Always a good selection and freshly cooked. You are served at the table so the meals are very relaxing and the waiting staff are helpful and always serve you with a smile. We had single rooms which were clean and comfortable and had a sea view. It is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it. The lounge and bar area are very comfortable. We will definitely be going back again.
Stayed here as part of a tour. Was very pleased with this hotel. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We were on a half board basis and the food was very good considering the budget they must adhere to to accommodate tours. Would definitely stay here again when I visit Eastbourne. Very good location and there is a road at the corner called Carlisle Road and there are a lovely selection of restaurants there. About a ten minute walk to the town centre. Would recommend highly.
We booked and stayed in June19 for the Eastbourne Tennis tournament. As we do every year for the last 7 years, we stayed at the Oban. Really chuffed with our stay this year! Got a refurbished room and fantastic service from staff who this year, were new to us. As a bonus we were delighted to have rubbed shoulders with a few players and BBC commentators (mentioning no names) that also stayed. This place has really improved over the last few years and it’s refreshing to see an independent hotel Investing, growing and doing so well. At time of writing we just returned from a weekend at the Oban. Although not as busy and somewhat colder than June, we still enjoyed our stay and to be honest we enjoyed the tranquility. Thank you for having us back. Look forward to seeing you all again next year.…
I booked a room at fairly short notice for 1 night before a walking event I was taking part in. The hotel has a lovely location right on the sea front, about 15 minutes walk from the station. I didn't book breakfast as I was going out really early although they did offer to provide me with a continental option, which I thought was nice of them. The chap who checked me in was extremely helpful. I asked if he could recommend a taxi company so I could book one for the next day. He actually called the company they usually use and make the booking for me. I had a single room which was clean and comfortable. Nothing elaborate but what I'd expected for the price I paid. It was a bit hot in the room but on a warm day when the sun is shining directly in through large windows, in an old building with no air con, there's not a lot you can do about that. I just left the window open and slept on top of the covers. The TV in the room was a fairly small one, but the room was quite small so there isn't space for much else. I rarely watch TV in hotels so I wasn't bothered. The next morning I left my key at reception and my taxi was ready and waiting for me outside the door. The hotel was a reasonable cost and definitely ticked boxes for what I was looking for, and I'd consider it again on a return trip to Eastbourne.…
