I went to The Grand Hotel with a group of friends for my birthday for a spa day - it was very disappointing - the spa facilities (pool, sauna, steam room) were very dated and appeared to be in a poor standard of upkeep with broken tiles around the pool loose ceiling tiles. The tiny changing room facilities with only...

I received an afternoon tea for two at the Grand for Christmas, and we went last weekend. Having been before, we knew what to expect and they delivered as always. Good old english charm, oozing from the building and the staff, with attention to every detail being fulfilled. If you haven't been before, it's definitely worth a visit, just to...

Our Mum loves the Grand, and it is her favorite place to celebrate her birthday. This year they did not disappoint- wonderful service, great accommodation and terrific food. The highlight of our stay, had to be the amazing Dry Martinis we were served before dinner. Harry, the bar tender, excelled. We all agreed, that he produced the best Dry Martinis...

I was treated to a breakfast at the grand for my birthday. The service and hosting were superb and selection on offer was really good. The staff clearly enjoy what they do and the host jim was very attentive and made sure we had plenty of tea and coffee. Highly recommended!

Stayed here with my son for one night during half term. The hotel is in the perfect location on the beach. Our arrival was smooth and the porter very helpful and took our bags as our room not ready as it's was only 11am. The reception staff polite and asked my son what time he would like his milk and...

Decided to try the Grand Hotel for Sunday lunch. A wise choice, the Grand offers a superb traditional lunch in very pleasant surroundings with staff offering friendly but very professional silver service. Food was very good with choices available on all courses, my wife and I both decided on the roast beef, superb. Most probably one of the best roast...

I visited the Grand for the champagne afternoon tea for a friends special birthday. From the time we arrived we were delighted. The doormen, the concierge and the staff were aware that our being there was a surprise for the birthday girl, and took steps to ensure that she didn't realise we were waiting for her. She was fussed over...

We have stayed here several times and always loved it. We stay in the Debussy Suite which has a lovely big balcony with uninterrupted views of the sea and we like to spend the whole weekend out there with coffee, reading and watching the world go by. Unfortunately, this was the second trip in a row spoilt by people smoking...

Thank you for your comments. We were concerned to hear that your perception of the evacuation was not as we would like. We would like to reassure you that everything went according to plan and thankfully this was a false alarm. Apologies if you felt communication was not clear enough.

My first time in Eastbourne, stayed for 2 nights, for a 5 star hotel they do their upmost best to ensure you are treated with respect and that your stay is comfortable. I enjoyed every bit of it.
