The waiter is very polite. The food is absolutely delicious but the manager will give you a real face, and tell you that in the whole hotel, that is currently out of use, she doesn’t have any blankets to give you to withstand the freezing temperature on the terrace for the alfresco dining. She will tell you that if she gave you a blanket to warm up, then she’d have to wash it. And they just can’t do that for every guest, even if bill over £200! We had to request swimming pool towels from the spa as we could see other people using the pool so we knew that those were available. If you come in these pandemic measures where you are sitting on the terrace, be aware that it’s under a Canopy with no direct sunshine and because it’s on the seafront there is a lot of wind and it leaves you absolutely freezing! And the staff will fight to not give you something to warm up, and there are no outdoor heaters that other outdoor restaurants have. But I do maintain that we had a really nice male waiter and we really enjoyed our food and all finished our plates.

Dear alexandrabH3649SD, Whilst we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed the food and waiter service, please accept our apologies that a blanket was not made available at the time of your visit and the communication of this was not up to our usual standards. We do hope you will provide the opportunity for a return visit and that the glorious Eastbourne sunshine will be out to make it more enjoyable. Kind Regards Guest Services

My husband and I headed to Eastbourne for a cheeky night away before London entered tier 3. We had a basic room and the hotel provided a travel cot with bedding and even a little rubber duck for our one year old. They can’t currently offer babysitting because of covid. Our room had a small double bed but was adequate for the two of us for one night. The bathroom was huge with a rainforest shower over the bath, dressing gowns, slippers, plenty of towels and molten brown products. Due to covid you need to book 45mins slots in the pool but we managed to book the times on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning that suited us. On Sunday morning we were the only three in the pool. There is also a jacuzzi. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and it was super easy to park right outside the front in their free car park. Check in and check out was quick and easy and all of the staff were wonderful. We had lunch in the lounge, think club sandwich and fries, baguettes, soups etc with full bar available and all waiter served. We had dinner at the Mirabelle which was wonderful. They don’t do a children’s menu there so we ordered our daughter the children’s room service, three courses and lots of options. She had a fruit platter, chocolate ice cream and penne pasta with tomato sauce, was served like something from home alone 2! We got her to sleep in the pram so we could have a pre dinner drink and canapé in the bar followed by a three course meal. You have to book breakfast, which was no problem. The menu was extensive from pancakes to full English to eggs benedict etc etc. Everything is silver service, which was a lovely touch. The hotel isn’t the modern style we usually go for, it’s very traditional in decor, however, it’s spotlessly clean and we had a wonderful time. Would thoroughly recommend for a night or two escape from the city once lockdown is lifted. It’s also across from the beach, literally cross the road and you are on it. A short walk from the pier and not too far from Beachy Head.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here to celebrate hubby's birthday. As always all the staff were very warm and welcoming. Due to coronavirus there were not as many guests around as usual but it was still a very enjoyable experience. The meal and service was very good as was the pre-lunch drinks and after lunch coffee in the lounge. It was also good to see all the precautions put in place to keep guests & staff safe from the virus. Have really missed staying for 3 nights as we usually do between Christmas & New Year this year but unfortunately due to moving into tier4 we were unable to visit. Look forward to visiting in 2021 when able.

Dear Luciadasilva1967, We appreciate your feedback, we are aware that at the time of your stay (Christmas Eve) the Hotel operation had been recently changed due to the updated Coronavirus rules, due to this the hotel was far quieter than previously expected and therefore the restaurant had been opened up on a last minute basis as explained on your arrival. We hope you provide the opportunity for a return visit to be more enjoyed. Kind Regards Guest Services
