Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed this weekend as visiting the Congress Theatre. Lovely hotel, friendly hosts, comfortable bed in a spacious clean room. As for the breakfast the next morning perfectly cooked and served with a smile. Would definitely stay there again.

We were visiting Eastbourne, to visit family and are so pleased we chose the Ravilious to stay at. We were warmly welcomed, from arrival, and made to feel at home, even being able to invite our auntie, to the hotel, for our reunion. The room we stayed in was extremely spacious, with all that we needed for a really comfortable stay. Breakfast was outstanding, with the hot option freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The previous night had been spent in an overpriced chain hotel, with hospitality seemingly way down the list of priorities, so the stay at the Ravilious was just what we needed and we felt so well looked after; can’t wait to return!

Beautiful spacious room. Has everything we needed and more. Feels like your truly are welcomed and valued as a customer/friend. Hosts are warm, welcoming and accommodating. Also, really yummy breakfast! My only complaint is you need to book early because they fill up quickly. Absolutely would stay again.

Chris and Caroline are wonderful! From welcoming us as we checked in, to the moment we said goodbye, they were the consummate hosts. Their attention to detail and the high standards they set tell you a lot about how much they care about their customers and their experience at Ravilious. A beautiful Victorian house has been tastefully given a modern twist that enhances the features and is most welcoming. There is a nod to Eric Ravilious, a local artist, not only in the name of the B & B, but also in the decor. Breakfast is a delight - so many choices on offer that cater for the vegetarian to the carnivore with hot and cold options available. Fresh fruit is also available every morning. Our room (a Superior King No. 8) was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was indeed

Our first visit to Ravilious which we booked direct with the hotel. A warm and friendly welcome from Caroline and Chris. Everything was to a high standard - it was faultless. Ideal location for theatre, seafront and restaurants - who could ask for more. Overall a most enjoyable relaxing stay - just wished we could have stayed longer - we will be back.

Chris & Caroline were great hosts and we very much enjoyed our stay this weekend. Breakfast was very good and a lovely room. They also have a nice sitting area downstairs with a bar which was well stocked and needed after doing the seven sister cliffs. P.S thanks for the waterproof coat. Penelope & Jamie

This is our third visit to the Ravilious Hotel. There isn't anything that we can fault with it. The hosts Chris and Caroline, go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and they are extremely good at what they do. The rooms are all of a high standard (we have stayed in three of them) and spotlessly clean. So much choice for breakfast, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, fruit juices and the nicest full English I have had in a long time. 10 minute walk from town and about the same to the seafront and pier. Can't recommend it enough. We will definitely return next year.

Booking directly online was very easy. The bedroom was very spacious with a comfortable bed and the shower room very modern. The hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast had a varied menu, was well presented and delicious. The Ravilious is well located and within walking distance from the seafront, high street and many restaurants. Parking nearby/outside was not a problem and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful.
