I visited the Empire every year as a child but life and circumstances meant I had not been for many years. When my partner asked where I would like to go for a romantic weekend I instantly said The Empire and thus began the most wonderful holiday. Staff are unanimously helpful and polite, engaging and kind. The rooms are small- its an old building- but perfectly beautiful. An inch more and they'd be overdone and twee but for my tastes the decor throughout is spot on and made me feel decadent and luxurious. I have back and hip issues but the bed was very comfortable. We used the jacuzzi, steam room and pool and found everything in good order. The meals at the Watkins are always good if not excellent, with plenty of choice. Elyse is the perfect host, she made us feel incredibly special which, let's face it, is exactly what is wanted when you're away with your loved one. We had the most fabulous time, thank you so much to everyone at the Empire. We will be back as soon as we can. If you're looking for a romantic getaway then you can't go wrong with the Empire.

We visited the hotel as a family group to celebrate Christmas early. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Wonderful food, great staff, comfy beds and just an all round lovely place to spend time together making memories. The hotel was close enough to park up and walk around and visit all of the local landmarks, restaurants for the entire stay.

I was recommended this hotel by a number of different people and family members and finally booked to go with a friend in two rooms. We look for comfortable rooms with quiet comfortable lounges to relax and chat in. Generally on our stays we want to feel welcome and staff be attentive to our needs. I stay in lots of different hotels at least one or two a month. My friend has specific access issues. We stayed in one standard room and one budget room. Both were warm comfortable and met our needs perfectly. The rooms were clean, adequately furnished and my bed in particular was perfect for me. I have severe arthritis and need a very soft mattress I carry an inflatable mattress to every hotel but did not need it on this occasion. I have particular preferences for linen and soft furnishings and these were perfect in my room. I don't worry about marks here or there or light wear and tear that is expected in well used hotels throughout the world. I understood that this hotel tried to pay homage to its age and ancestry by retaining some of its older well used items of furniture and in a world of too much waste I appreciate that. We enjoyed all of the food we ate in this hotel. It was well prepared and tasty. The 4 course dinner was varied however im sure vegetarians may have struggled with main course and it might be worth asking ahead if you had preference. Breakfast was hot and cooked to order. The most influential factor in us returning to this hotel were the staff. Every single one of them were polite, helpful and professional. One even followed us out and walked after the car until we had parked and took our luggage in for us. They were attentive and served us quickly and efficiently even when busy. Smiles were obviously compulsory for this team. The owner was in full sight throughout our stay and clearly managed a well-oiled machine very well. One other thing we would note was our experiences on the two nights we stayed were very different. The thursday was very quiet and peaceful whereas the Friday was very busy full of people meeting up most of whom had obviously stayed before. Outside the hotel was a little noisier and lots of people visited the hotel on the Friday as well..However that doesn't distract from our stay. As I'm in the area again next week I plan to stay again with my husband this time. My friend and I will return in 2024.

This wonderful hotel is unspoilt by progress, we have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it Nevers fails to give full value. The staff are outstanding and the majority of them have been at the hotel overs 30years, food was fabulous great choice on four course menu and the rooms were immaculate. We again stayed in 72 top floorannexe of the hotel and were not disappointed.Look forward to returning.

An occasion to visit my sister and partner. We booked for Sunday dinner, 6 persons in total. Pre dinner service was good with an attentive waitress. Most of the party order the standard Sunday roast, beef, Yorkshire pud etc. Starter was chicken liver pate with toasted flatbread. The flatbread disintegrated into dust, not the best of starters but hay ho … score 6 out of 10 at best. The beef dinner arrived with a huge Yorkshire pud, overcooked and hiding the two slices of beef ( suspect it was bought in and not home cooked ) … two roast potatoes and a small portion of grated mix vegetables. The accompanying red wine sauce/gravy was tasty and necessary to moisten the meal. Pudding was apple and berry crumble. What arrived was stewed apple, purple in colour with no berries and no crumble. Edible but not has described. Overall 5 out of 10 …. As a passing note the silver plated cutlery was tarnished and worn, past its sell by date and in need of replacement.

Our first stay at The Empire hotel, Llandudno We stayed along with two other couples. The hotel is lovely, it has wonderful decor. The room was good as was the food. Despite not using the pool I did go and have a look and it looked very inviting. We hope to stay again at The Empire with the same group, the price is very reasonable for the experience this hotel offers.

We visited here as non-residents for a light lunch and boy was it good. We enjoyed a cheese, pickle and onion sandwich that came with a side salad and chips. This was the best sandwich of my five day break away. We also shared bara brith. This was moist and really delicious. The service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it here.

Another hugely enjoyable stay at the Empire. The Staff and the food are the outstanding features, with the accommodation and the facilities adding to provide what is our favourite weekend away. Our grandson Patrick is 13 months old and he loved the pool and the room had ample space for his cot. For a couple, for a family or a group of friends this is an unbeatable choice.

This was just the best experience, far exceeded our expectations! Myself and my elderly Father of 92 booked this from a recommendation many years ago. We were not disappointed! Such a beautiful, graceful hotel with such elegant and stylish rooms and all areas. We booked the dinner, bed & breakfast option, which far surpassed our expectations. The staff, every last one were soooo helpful and very polite, I challenge anyone to say otherwise! The four course menu in the restaurant, plus coffee in the lounge was absolutely delicious, we just loved it! For my Papa, It was all about the comfort and the food/service, which we both thought was 5*. The staff mainly have been there for many years and clearly love their job. The history of the hotel very endearing, and you can absolutely see why so many guests return year after year. All the lovely guests we spoke to have returned at least twice yearly as they know what a classic/classy hotel this is with a perfect, personal service. Peter the Pianist was such a lovely guy, we hadn't expected him on the Saturday night but he was such a brilliant pianist and tried his hardest to get my Papa involved. Unfortunately, at 92 my Dad couldn't remember many tunes, but Peter was so patient with him! I put a post on Social media upon our return and so many of my friends said they had stated at The Empire for many years and what a fabulous, elegant, tasteful hotel it is! Believe me, we will be returning soon! Forgot to say, I used the gym, pool and sauna and had them all to myself on a Monday, what a treat! Thank you for everything Empire! We will be returning very soon! ❤️
