I visited this little hotel 4 years ago with my hubby ... our Party of 10 friends !!! Meet up every March for a crazy weekend away ...this year Llandudno. I read the reviews before we went I could hardly believe what some people said, and told me friends "I'm sorry" .... No need to worry yes it's a little dated ...yes the rooms are old fashioned and we thought a shelf in the bathroom of room 4 would be really helpful and also something in shower to pop bottles on ...BUT we loved it and Gav n Stacey made our weekend the kindest loveliest folks, they made our stay just perfect and let us let our hair down ....breakfast was fabulous as usual plentiful and freshly cooked buffet there was all sorts to cater for everyone ...... Gabriel checked us in he was very "Grand" and gracious but also very lovley and kind. I wanted to put it out there that this hotel deserves better and the people who work there were hard working very kind people non judgemental and I can only imagine cause me up against some awful people at times, they deserve respect for the work they do and do the very best they can to accomodate your needs .... Keep in keeping on thank you so much ❤️💙💙 xxx

Avoid this hotel at all costs. If you look at the negative reviews on this place, it is exactly as described, dirty, smelly and outdated. To top it off the manager is arrogant and rude. Not exactly the ideal holiday getaway!

We’ve booked for 1 night . The bedroom was awful! , very dated, broken old furniture ( piece of cardboard was used to keep the bedside table’s door shut , tv wasn’t positioned correctly, the screen was pointing the floor which means you can only watch it properly when sitting on the floor we tried to fix it but sadly couldn’t ( definitely requires maintenance person ) ! the level of dust was unacceptable! dirty glasses, coffee cups not properly cleaned . Heavily stained curtains. Bathroom was shocking, broken bath panel very dated . Toiletries was just a doggy looking an orange liquid and hand wash which was empty so the receptionist had to replenish it for us . Honestly I don’t think anyone checks the rooms before arrivals . I understand the room was only £79 per night ( including breakfast) and “ you get what you pay for “ but you still expect some level of cleanliness maintained especially from the “ hotel” . We complained to the receptionist asking if we can be moved to a different room but she couldn’t help so i have asked to speak to the manager but we were told the manager was not available and that the receptionist will have to contact the manager over the phone to discuss issues. When we came back to the hotel we were told by the same receptionist that the manger could offer us a refund but we have to move out and look for another accommodation elsewhere or stay in and just accept how it is !! ( apparently it was fully booked) very very poor management who clearly don’t care about the customers! the receptionist came up to our room to assess the issues , she saw exactly how poor condition the room was and only what we got was an apology and told i can raise a complaint via email as the company is based in Liverpool. She also thanked us for bringing issues to her attention so that it can be rectified before the next arrival, which it’s so strange because there was absolutely no willingness from the hotel to rectify issue while we were staying there.? Breakfast was not great either , had to wait while for the crockery and food to be replenished! it seem there’s only one person who does all the cooking and washing up the same time. This is not a hotel . This establishment should be closed and properly refurbished before letting people to stay in . I definitely would not recommend this place !

Stayed here for a long weekend in Llandudno. Because I am mobility challenged we requested a room on a lower floor and with a walk in shower. The first room we were shown did not have either feature. We were given another room with a walk in shower but it was still on one of the upper floors. No lift so we had to negotiate lots of stairs on a very narrow staircase. Trays of dirty cups had been left on the landing floors making it quite a hazard to get up and down. Our room stank of smoke. The windows were open but the sash cords had broken and beware anyone leaning out of the window. There were no toilet rolls in the bathroom. Cluttered with a lot of old fashioned furniture. Altogether not a pleasant room. Breakfast could have been good but once again the food was on two levels meaning that physically challenged had difficulty carrying food up stairs. Some items were not replenished at breakfast time so when they were gone that was it. It looks lovely from the outside but the inside needs better management

We have visited Llandudno several times before but never stayed in a guest house always an hotel. What a pleasant stay we had at The Rise Tor. Yes a bit dated as most will be but you can still see the opulence and splendour of this lovely house. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful comfortable and clean room. Very well stocked bar. Plus breakfast which is a buffet self service breakfast with everything you could wish for. The staff at breakfast also were attentive and helpful.

Spot on and good value for money for a Saturday nights stay. Yes the hotel is dated and the typical labyrinthine of corridors and stairs to get to your room but very clean and tidy. Had a few beers in the bar but did not have an evening meal. The full breakfast was superb to say the least and plenty of it. Highly recommended if on a budget and looking for a night stay in Llandudno.

We arrived at the Rose Tor Hotel in Llandudno on Good Friday 2023. We managed to book in early, which was good but everything was down hill from there! The duvet cover was soiled and with what looked liked a black trademark! The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. But we thought we're only here for a couple of nights and to focus on having a good time away from the hotel. When we returned to the hotel after a lovely day & evening out, there was music blaring in the restaurant part of the hotel. I rang the bell and a women came out and put the music off. But what no one has mentioned, is the Fat Cat pup across the street had their music extremely loud and what you would expect from a night club! This went on until late to the extent that you couldn't even hear the TV! The second day we went down for breakfast and it's self-service including the cooked breakfast. The eggs looked very unappetising and rubbery with dried yolks which looked as though they had been sat there for ages. On this second day, we had a lovely day and evening out. But once again, on our return to the hotel, the music was blaring from the Fat Cat, which didn't stop till approximately midnight. And during this time, a fight broke out in the road with a guy being assaulted, head butted twice and which lasted for about 1/2 an hour! No police in sight over the 2 days we stayed. But the what topped off our evening was the music in the hotel continued to be loud and the base continuously thumping. We expected this to stop at midnight, which it didn't!! This was still going on until we became very angry and I had to go down in the early hours of the morning and at 1:25am of 9th April. I rang the bell and there was no answer. I then knocked hard on the hotel pub door where the extremely loud music was coming from. A young member of staff came to the door and I complained about the loudness of the music and pointing out the time of this still continuing!! All he said that he didn't realise it was loud. He put the music off and I told him I wasn't impressed and walked off. Some reviews about this hotel mention an even meal. This isn't true as they do not serve evening meals. So this could be due to the hotel being taken over. But we would never stay at this hotel again or recommend to any of our friends or family. ( We posted a review on Booking.com yesterday about this hotel, but strangely it doesn't seem to be on their reviews)

My partner and I are staying at this hotel and unfortunately I’m not very well at the minute, The staff could not have been more obliging even if they tried. From the outset, they have insured that I’m okay and have explained that if there’s anything that they can do, all I need to do is ask. This is our third stay, and have got two double beds with a mezzanine bathroom. The breakfast comes as part of their rate and is delicious, especially the vegetarian sausages and hash browns. I am especially grateful to Sue for going above and beyond in her care and compassion today by making me a lemon and honey hot drink to help with my illness. We will be back in August. Thank you as always, Scott and Abby
