We stayed here for 3 nights in September. The room was ok and comfortable.
It had everything you needed for this star rating. Because of Covid you had to ask for fresh towels etc at the reception where they supplied them in sealed bags when required. We were pleasantly surprised at breakfast as full english in the dining room. The staff were great and with the extra precations in place served you promptly. If you needed a tea, coffee, juice refill or more toast they were happy to bring more. There was a breakfast choice. We have travelled a lot and used many hotels and look what you get for the star ratings so why bad revues when this is a 2 star hotel in a great location in our opinion providing 3 star. We have been in many 3 star Hotels that didn't provide what this Hotel does. If you want a better rated Hotel then book that don't knock a 2 star that's providing a good service even when Covid is around. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend this Hotel and return

Very warm and comfortable room with complimentry toiletries and tea and coffee. Flat screen Tv and hairdryer in room. Good powerful shower. Friendly staff in all areas. Good choice of breakfast cereal fruit juice fresh fruit prunes full English toast and preserves tea and coffee. Lift to all rooms. We had a sea view room which had a good view of pier and Great Orme and Little Orme. Lovely to wake up to the sound of the lapping sea.

There are a lot of negative reviews, but if you are staying out most of the time and you only need a place to sleep and rest then you will be fine here. Yes the decor is outdated but my family and I were able to sleep well. The electric fan had a lot of dust in it but we are still alive. There were no coffee in their coffee and tea tray, the teaspoon has stain on it but we didn't use it anyway because we ate outside. We stayed in the annex building where the view is the parking lot but when you step outside the hotel, the view is great. If you are frugal and practical, then book here.

Booked annex room (given A201), 31/08/21-05/09/21. Arrived two days late due to unforeseen family emergency, staff were understanding and changed the check in date to 02/09-05/09.

What can I say.... We never expected a luxury room or a view as the description clearly stated was an annexe attached to the rear of the hotel so our expectations weren't high. However, the room we had was not what was described and in comparison to the other annexe rooms, disgusting! Yes it was basic what we expected but never expected the following:
1) rusty/corroded kettle
2) dirty cups
3) stains up the walls, carpet and net curtain
4) taps that come off in your hand, the shower one dropping on my partner's foot
5) intermittent hot water if you're lucky
6) a sign on the wall warning not to bring hot food in to avoid cockroaches 😱
7) worn scratched headboard, rusty mirror/ damaged
8) cold room no electric heater
9) dust on windowsill and a huge strand of curly black hair 🤢
10) stain on bed cover
11) damp patches on ceiling

The list could go on. We managed to tolerate it as we had had such a bad time back home before arriving but in the end we spoke to staff at reception. We were advised to send photos and email to management and she came out to the room regarding the hot water situation which the tap came off in her hand too and this was followed by a "maintenance" man arriving to sort in a suit 🤷. However it was sort of sorted after running the water 20mins and pointing it to what was painted blue for cold on the tap!.
I followed instructions and emailed management, we cannot believe how condescending they were! Even putting in red writing how it's our expectations and noone else complains and we could've found other accomodation!! When we replied to this we suggested maybe the clientele are different to us and just want somewhere to put their head down after a night out as people came in shouting early in the morning and could hear them vomitting loudly lol!

When the beds were being made in morning by staff the doors were open and the other annexe rooms looked much more well kept than the one we got lumped with.

Then the email was saying we stopped 2 nights but we stopped 3 and we're not entitled to a refund as we used the bedroom (didn't ask for 1!). And told us we didn't tell anyone, when we clearly stated this in the email and the names of staff.

We also complimented staff being polite but we told management we've took that back after the rude email they sent back.

Stay clear of Annexe A201 Iris hotel, Llandudno. Gutted 😔 first time in Llandudno aswell.

Positive point.... Comfy bed, good location

Would've like to upload more photos but maximum is 10.

On arrival, once paid the balance was then told they longer do breakfast, had to trek down the promenade to another hotel where breakfast was basic. In the room stains on the walls, head board worn, the wardrobe I struggled to open. In the bathroom the shower was faulty, you could not get the switch to turn to get any cold water, this is an health and safety issue has you could scald yourself. The owner was very rude when I realised you don't get room cleaned and any supplies needed you had to get from reception, her response to me is that she was not risking her life with a young family with Covid but quite happy to take your money. The stay at this hotel spoilt my holiday.

Don’t book through booking.com because if you make any changes even well in advance they charge you 50%. I was taking my 91 year old Grandad for his annual trip & we chose this hotel, unfortunately I can no longer do the dates so wanted to bring forward, I contacted booking.com & they said it’s up to the hotel if they waive the fee & did they.....,course not. It’s ok will just go somewhere else, it was 3 months notice too!! I’d rather pay someone else then go back to a hotel who weren’t interested in helping.

Only booked the night before but we stayed here about 5years ago so didn’t do any of the usual research. We arrived mid afternoon , no problem with check in we had booked a double sea view room with breakfast for two , total cost £50 what I thought was a bit of a bargain turned out to be , you get what you pay for.
On the good side...
Location (right opposite beach)
View from room (as above)
Bed comfortable and sheets clean
Bathroom modern , very snazzy looking shower and spotlessly clean (looks new)
Breakfast lovely
Staff pleasant and helpful

Not so good.....
Bedroom furniture in poor condition inc scratched dirty leather headboard
Curtains very tatty with an odd thin bit of net curtain hung between them
By far the worst was the carpet which was absolutely filthy dirty , It was so disgusting I couldn’t bring myself to put my bear feet on it, I honestly haven’t seen a carpet in that state anywhere.
The snazzy looking shower we couldn’t get to work, so after trying for 15minutes decided just to leave it, we won’t be returning.
Such a shame it would take minimal effort and cost to turn this hotel around.

Last minute booking as needed to visit Llandudno, appreciate the difficulties in ensuring safety of guest and employees whilst covid is ongoing, however the standards at breakfast were shocking.

Employees wearing gloves, then cleaning tables, relaying tables with same gloves, serving food wearing said gloves, carrying toast by hand in yes, said same gloves. One of the employees was visibly lacking in personal hygiene, I won't mention which one as that would be unfair on the individual, management checks should take place though.

Please stay away, as the risk to health just isn't worth it.

After looking online to do a one night stay over in Llandudno, I hesitantly chose the Iris. After receiving the email confirmations I received an email telling me that if I don’t check in by 8.30pm the room will be cancelled as a “no show”. I immediately called the ‘hotel’ and told them I was unable to get there until 10pm. A lady said we’ll I’m sorry but that’s our policy! After a short conversation, a man answered the phone and said I had till be there by 10pm as the “night porter” could let me in.
Forgive me here but isn’t that the night porters job? On arrival I checked in and asked if I could have breakfast at 7am and was then told that breakfast was from 9am till 10am??
At this point I just sighed and asked for my room key. The bad experience continued when I arrived at room 401 which was clearly a broom cupboard in a previous life!
I dropped my bags and made a coffee only to find the milk was off and the tv didn’t work!
You couldn’t make this up! The straw that broke the camels back was the ‘shower’!! The cold tap just fell off when I tried to cook the red hot water! On the plus side, I was so tired, I just went to sleep and left the following morning at 7am!
Avoid this place like the plague, it’s very very poor! This review is my honest and real experience, so do what you with with it.

Arrived after travelling 4 hours, was put in the smallest double room I’ve ever stayed in (right next door to the lift) I asked to be moved as I was up early for work however was told fully booked (fair enough!) I was told it was a continental breakfast served from 8:30am, explained I’d be leaving for work at 7am so would I be ok to grab a piece of fruit was told NO, like they said 8:30am. They make no attempts to accommodate you, I had to eat out for tea when I arrived, to be told you can’t bring food in ate it on the front bench in hotel garden. I asked for a bin to put my waste food in and was pointed in the direction of the bar. If you’re going to be working in a customer facing job role maybe be more polite and look like you want to be there. The room is basic, No water however is a small kettle with hot drinks ingredients. Double bed very uncomfortable and pillows cheap, wafer thin I used all 4 for them to be comfortable. I found an electric fan in the bottom of the wardrobe which I didn’t need but used to drown out the lift going up and down. The bathroom was equipped with towels, toilet roll, shower gel and tiny hand soaps however there was a bath tub with over head shower which o had to bend to get under (I am 5ft 3”) no plug to use the bath tub so I had no other option. I wouldn’t recommend they only plus to this hotel is the location.
