I went on a coach trip with 70 people. Our cases were taken to our rooms for us. The rooms were bright and airy. Bathroom with spotless.
The downside was that a member of the party was gluten intolerant and had made the hotel aware of this, despite this they didn't have a lot to offer her. Another lady was a vegetarian and didn't like the choice on offer, she was told they couldn't offer anything else other than a salad. When the waiter was asked for a pot of tea we got a jug of cold water. We were expected to wash our hands going into the dining room but we were then expected to all dry our hands on the same towel. Paper towels would be much better and decrease the risk of transmitting the virus.
It's a pity but these experiences brings the hotel down.
It wouldn't take much to remedy the above problems.

Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend. Staff were polite, but not particularly friendly or welcoming. There was a major misunderstanding over a sea view room requested, and as I though confirmed, on our Booking.com booking, but there was no compromise whatsoever and it was a hefty charge to change rooms from a back street view over the car park, to a sea view room. We paid it, as that is what we went hoping for - but wasn't happy about the misunderstanding or lack of empathy.
The "superior" room was not that superior. Although clean, with a nice shower room, it was basic, if a bit tired, and the bed was not too comfortable.
The cleaning staff barged in the room on the Sunday morning at about 9am, without knocking, obviously thinking we had checked out - so that was rather disturbing.
The walk to the pier takes about half an hour, but that was fine, all along the sea front, or through the town centre and shops.
The free carparking is a bonus.

Went to the Kensington Hotel this week on a coach trip with my daughter. We were shown to our rooms and told we would have our meals served in our rooms as under the covid-19 restrictions they weren't allowed to use the dining room. It was no problem to us. It was what we expected. The meals were brought to us by the owner and she was lovely, her husband had cooked the meals and they were delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Said if we wanted anything to ring reception and it would be brought to our door. They weren't allowed to come in our room to do anything but that was fine too. Of course it wasn't good enough for a certain few on our coach but what did they expect in these times. Just wanted to say thankyou and you did an amazing job.

We have been banned from this hotel because we very rightly complained that the bath was broken when we arrived. It couldn't be fixed, so after having to use a shower in another room, were moved to a nice room. We have tried to book a dance break, but the organisers have been told that we are not allowed there as we complained.....

They are also trying to insinuate that we broke the bath although we spent hardly any time in the room in question.

I have emailed them more than once, but not the courtesy of a reply.

If you go there, don't dare to complain about anything, they are totally unreasonable and don't understand customer service at all.

Upset and horrified by their behaviour, and as I own a holiday cottage, I do have knowledge of hospitality business.

Firstly you have to pay in full by debit/credit card before or upon on arrival and they obviously keep your bank details judging by the note you are handed with your room key regarding bringing food in.
The hotel is tired and dated and rooms are very small with tiny bathroom, you need to be very tall to use bathroom mirror, beds are uncomfortable, I shared a twin room with my mum, her bed you could feel springs through mattress, mine was sloping downwards.
Breakfast is not buffet style, its served to you ready plated, service is slow. I asked for coffee after being seated for 20minutes with no sign of a waitress only to be confronted with sour faced lady manager asking why I was complaining, very embarrassing in front of a dining room full of guests and do not ask for more little pots of milk in bedroom, its a straight "no".
Maids come into your room in the morning regardless of whether you are in or out, dressed or undressed and have no knowledge of English.
Evening meals are set menu at £25 per person, we chose to eat out elsewhere.
Stayed for 3 nights, will not return and would never recommend.

We stayed at Kensington as part of a coach trip with Forest Travel of Nottingham. (Couldn't fault them or their driver Andy)
It was nice to walk out the hotel onto the promenade with about half a mile walk to the pier. The hotel was immaculately clean and the staff always pleasant and helpful.
Our room was a good size with basic facilities which included a very good shower/bathroom (plenty of hot water) and a television that worked perfectly but is due an upgrade. (as shown by the outdated EPG and remote control) The bed was a simple metal frame plus mattress and was comfortable. A bonus was that, despite being on the second floor, the hotel's WiFi worked very well. Our room overlooked the hotel rear, aa coach park , but had views of the distant mountains. Perhaps a sea-view room might be better if we return. The hotel has a large car park at the rear which would be a big plus should we revisit under our own steam.
Breakfasts and evening meals were included and both were of a high standard and cooked items were always hot.
We were impressed by the Kensington, more than we had hoped for, and if returning to Llandudno would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Stayed 30th August for 5 days, have no complaints whatsoever.
Hotel spotless and very covid aware, hand washing facilities for you before entering dining room. Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble, food was simple but plentyfull especially the Chicken and Mushroom pie, that was divine. The staff only replenished your tea making supplies and changed towels if needed which was fine, doesn't take a minute to make your own bed. We had a lovely sea view room. The hotel has a lift and access through the car park at the rear for those who cannot manage steps. Would definitely stay there again.

Firstly there is a car park at the back with key code entry that was sent by email great.
Very easy check in and pleasant staff. The room was on the top floor very clean but small. The en-suite was cramped annotate a lot of room between the toilet and radiator.
It was like a furnace case it was 12/13 August heatwave. They on request David brought a fan that was a little help. He also worked behind the Bar and again very pleasant.
The breakfast service was good and very quick the food was also very good and again pleasant staff.
The room has tea and coffee facilities but!
We have travelled all over the world and this is the first Hotel that didn’t supply complimentary water in the room.

This hotel is clean and covid aware. There are some excellent staff but some other who don't understand even a simple request for a knife and fork.

Thewere advised of dietary requirements but seemed unaware on the first day. As the week went on the menu included appropriate dishes.

Some of the normal meals were 'cheap' and poor quality. It was a shame that they haven't linked to local suppliers for a better quality offering in exchange for advertising.

The shower was clean but has a 1 cm gap between the plastic guard and bath resulting in water everywhere. We mopped it up but there are damp patches on the ceiling suggesting the its leaking through.

We were part of a group who arrived seperately. Theres a free large car park which is a bonus in Llandudno and you can access the hotel from here via a flight of stairs. The reception area is light and airy there are seating areas plus a bar there is a lift available. We booked a seaview room and were not disappointed it was a very good size very clean and the bathroom was modern with a walk in shower we particularly liked the table and chairs by the window and we could sit and enjoy the view. Dinner was excellent only downside we would have liked more choice for the starters one of our party was Vegan and was only offered melon for a starter and the fruit salad served for a sweet was melon so they could improve on that.Breakfast was self service for cereals /toast and fruit and fruit juices there was only plain yoghurt available in glass pots I would have liked individual pots of flavoured yoghurts.Hot breakfasts tea and coffee were served at the table which is a lovely change from the buffet type you get and are pre ordered the night before as is your main meal for dinner. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and were particularly helpful to our group who were here on a dance weekend absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to a return visit
