Just back from a two night stay at Swn Y Mor where, having stayed many times before, we knew we would be well looked after to the highest of standards. Chris and Steven are always warm and welcoming and their attention to detail to provide Covid secure accommodation cannot be faulted. Literally every detail has been considered from the moment you check in until the moment you leave. Online check in was simple, removed the need for form filling and enabled us to provide contact details for track and trace. Check out can be carried out by email or over the phone if preferred. The usual warm welcome was still there on arrival and throughout our stay, with social distancing always observed. Our room key was sanitised in front of us and our room was spotlessly clean (as always) with everything that cannot be sanitised or washed, having been removed. Necessary and sensible changes have been made, such as rooms only being cleaned every 3 days to enable them to remain a safe space. The Guest Hub that has been set up allows you to easily request items that would usually be replenished daily, as well as ordering evening meals or drinks. There is the option to have a breakfast box delivered to your room, or to take breakfast in the dining room. The usual buffet items have been removed but are available by ordering from menus, which are laminated to enable sanitising between guests. Face masks are always worn when food is being served and tables thoroughly cleaned between guests.
We ate out in Llandudno on our first night but unfortunately, the place we chose had virtually no Covid secure measures in place and we couldn’t wait to leave! The following evening we used the Guest Hub to order an evening meal at Swn Y Mor and were treated to a delicious, top quality, home cooked meal - definitely the way forward for future visits!
Chris and Steven really have thought of everything and despite all the extra work that has been created for them, still, nothing is too much trouble and the welcome is as warm and genuine as ever. We can’t imagine ever considering staying anywhere else when we visit Llandudno and can’t wait for our next visit. This was a much needed break, thank you for everything you have done to ensure we felt safe and relaxed in these strange times.

Stayed for 2 nights room Only and had everything you needed including a hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, sea view TV with free view channels, the rooms were stripped of all soft furnishings such as stuff to dress the bed etc but the rooms were spotlessly clean, yes as others have said bathrooms are dark colour bath nd sink etc but they are spotlessly clean and all I ever ask for is somewhere clean to sleep. With the current situation (Covid) most places you need to book In advance to eat but there is plenty of places to checkout and a few chippies but the bonus when it’s slatting it down with rain is the syn y mor do lovely food for your evening meal you order from the guest hub on your phone and book your time, then just turn up without stepping outside and enjoy the sea view while eating your meal. Breakfast can be ordered if you havnt included it when booking and I definitely recommend it, I havnt stayed in llandudno before but I’ve stayed in a few hotels and B+B’s and this was the best breakfast I’ve eaten, they will cook everything to your liking which included cremating my husbands bacon which was just how he liked it, nothing was too much trouble you pay for the complete breakfast package, cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, full breakfast, whatever you want, we only had the full English breakfast so can only comment on that but I don’t know how they do their fried bread but it was the best I’ve ever had, lovely golden crispy on the outside but still white soft and fluffy on the inside.
I can 110% recommend the Syn Y Mor and Chris and Steven are lovely hosts, nothing is too much trouble, A good sense of humour and they will Even tell you where you can go out to eat, or to visit or point you in any direction you need to go, you even get room service with your drinks while you get ready (can never tire of that) I literally can’t fault our stay we even booked for Easter next year before we left and the added bonus for us was the carpark at the back of the hotel, and if that is ever full they have 3 permits for customers to use so you don’t need to ever pay daily parking charges. Overall a lovely relaxing break.

I am always nervous when booking a hotel that I haven't visited before. We had looked at a few options in Llandudno and then happened upon the Sŵn y Môr and its many excellent reviews.
We booked directly with the hotel as it was cheaper to do so rather than book through websites such as Booking.com. Because we had done this, the lovely hosts left us chocolate in our rooms from a local Chocolatier with a thank you note!
The communication before you get to the hotel is excellent and check in is completed online beforehand to remain as Covid safe as possible. Everything can be done through the Sŵn y Môr website, such as ordering evening meals and requesting replenishment of room supplies. Everything is so Covid safe and to government guidelines and cannot be faulted.
There is off street parking behind the hotel. Once we had parked the directions to reception was well sign posted. We got upstairs and we were immediately greeted by Chris who was really lovely and so helpful. He sanitised our keys in front of us and even offered us help with getting our things from the car.
We had booked rear facing rooms, and we were completely happy with this. Yes, we could see Primark instead of the sea, but we could also see the beautiful mountains in the background! Rooms are absolutlely SPOTLESS and nothing is too much trouble for Chris or Steven. They asked if we were comfortable with us entering the room after 3 days to freshen it up as we were staying for a week. They are completely happy to do whatever makes you feel safe in these difficult times.
Breakfast is pre-booked for certain times to avoid congestion in the breakfast room and it is absolutely delicious. Everything fresh and cooked to perfection.
Chris and Steven are the perfect hosts and they are more than happy to help in any way that they can. We also had an evening meal on our last evening and it was also very tasty. The view from the dining room is very pretty too.
The true assets of this hotel are Chris and Steven. They obviously really care about their Guests and they are very personable, always impeccably presented and are truly fabulous hosts.
We will definitely be booking again when we are next in North Wales. We even got sweets for our journey home! Diolch yn fawr iawn Chris a Steven!

we have just spent two nights at this hotel. We are a couple in our 60’s so had concerns about Covid etc. Parking in the grounds was very easy and on entering the building we could see that it was spacious and spotless. Steven welcomed us , kept his distance and sanitised our room keys before handing them over. We had the lovely big room at the front with views of the sea and the Ormes. All unnecessary items cushions etc had been removed from the room which was spotless. Hand sanitiser is available when leaving and entering the hotel. After seeing the spacious dining room we decided to eat there rather than the crowded restaurants. Our meals where delicious and reasonably priced so glad we chose to stay there.
In terms of safety and cleanliness it is spot on. The rest is up to us. Chris and Stephen are perfect host and it is obvious they take our present situation very seriously.

Spent another long weekend here at the Swn Y Mor, it was great to be able to visit once again. Chris and Steven have done everything possible to ensure guest safety and with minimal effect on your overall stay.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean anyway, and with the added hand sanitisers and the wearing of face coverings whilst moving around the hotel, you feel completely safe.
Communication before my visit explained the slight alterations made to the room settings, and the introduction of the “Guest Hub” means you still have the same high level of service and comfort. The food remains awesome (and plenty of it) I opted for the Eggs Benedict on the Sunday morning and what a great choice I made. They were delicious, I also booked the Sunday lunch, another fabulous, well cooked and tasty meal.
Llandudno itself was fairly busy but everywhere is geared up and conscious of the need to keep visitors safe. The weather was kind and again I managed some great local walks.
Thanks again for another memorable and much needed break and hopefully it won’t be long before I can visit again.

We’ve just returned from a short break in Llandudno staying three nights at Swn y Mor. We’d read all the rave Trip Advisor reviews praising this wonderful little hotel and we feel motivated to add our own. The owners, Chris and Steve, embrace all the principles of great hospitality - they’re welcoming and unobtrusive and they give great advice on places to visit and where to dine out. They’ve managed successfully to calibrate the right balance between rigorous Covid-19 protection and a warm relaxed atmosphere. Masks are compulsory when moving about, sanitisers are on hand and tables ensure effective social distancing. At the same time the atmosphere in the public spaces is warm and friendly and rooms are regularly topped up with generous supplies of coffee, tea, biscuits and toiletries. Our room, right at the top of the building, was spotless. Most memorable for us were the breakfasts - every item beautifully presented, locally sourced and clearly of top quality. In these troubled times the possibility of a break in a small hotel that puts your personal safety on par with ensuring that you feel relaxed and looked after is a rare godsend. We cannot recommend Swn y Mor highly enough.

We stayed at the Swn Y Mor over the weekend in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic looking for a short getaway before the rush of returning to work.

We had a few questions before we stayed and from minute one we knew we would be looked after. The man we spoke to was incredibly helpful and clearly laid out how everything would be run during our stay.

We booked a superior sea view room and the view didn’t disappoint. With pubs and restaurants still yet to open inside in Wales, it was great to have the option to return to the room and sit by the bay window admiring the panoramic view of Llandudno bay.

The room was spacious, quiet and we slept soundly to the sound of the sea each night.

The hotel offered a breakfast box service to the room each morning and we found the online guest hub they’d set up to be very convenient. The service ensured we weren’t scrambling around for something to eat in the morning and at £3.50 (Bacon/sausage/egg sandwich, yoghurt, fruit, orange juice included) it was very affordable.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Swn Y Mor, even in the middle of a pandemic. Everything felt very safe and the hosts completely respected social distancing rules. We’ll definitely be staying again!

Hi Hayley. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I know this is the first time you and Adam stayed with us and hopefully, it won't be the last. Our Premier Room with the Bay Window is so popular and I can understand why. We're so lucky to be located right in the centre of the promenade and panoramic view from the Great Orme to the Little Orme is breathtaking! Thank you so much for staying with us and we really hope we get to see you both again when things get a little more 'normal'.

I recently spent 4 nights at Swn Y Mor and am so pleased I booked my stay there. Steven and Chris are welcoming and caring hosts who made me feel at home in their lovely hotel. The room was clean and comfortable (especially the bed!) with thoughtful local touches like heart-shaped slate coasters for bedside drinks, plus a variety of teas and yummy gingerbread cookies. I especially appreciated their selection of breakfast items. As a vegetarian, hotels often have very limited options for me and I end up eating the same few items each day. Not at Swn Y Mor! Steven and Chris have created a menu with four different and hardy vegetarian meal options AND you can mix and match! - plus fruit, yogurt, cereals and juice. I also saw that they cater to other dietary requirements. See...thoughtful! I also really appreciated that they were keeping strictly to Covid recommendations by wearing and encouraging masks, sanitizing regularly, staggering breakfast seatings and of course ensuring the rooms were clean and safe. They were also more than willing to help with my heavy luggage up and down the stairs as there is no elevator. Swn Y Mor is very well situated to everything you want to do in Llandudno and is right across from the beautiful seaside promenade. Views are important to me and even though I knew I was booking a room at the back of the hotel, I was delighted to discover that my room looked out at the nearby mountains. I highly recommend a stay at Swn Y Mor! If I ever return to Llandudno, I hope they have availability. Thank you Steven and Chris for a very pleasant stay!

I was taken to Llandudno as part of a Birthday surprise. We stayed at Swn Y Mor hotel, and could not have been happier! Chris and Steven are the loveliest of hosts. I was really impressed with the level of cleanliness in and around the hotel and the room. Everything was sanitised before being handed over (keys, remote for the fan etc) and I felt so safe in a post lock down world. Chris and Steven clearly work their socks off, and were never far away to see to any needs / questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble, and they provided some excellent recommendations on where to eat (big thumbs up to the cottage loaf!). The guest hub is a fantastic idea, and easy to use. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. Wouldn't hesitate to return. So if you would like top notch cleanliness, the most incredible hosts, an excellent location - don't hesitate to pay this hotel a visit!

We have just returned home from a 3 night stay at Swn Y Mor, and what a first class experience from start to finish.

I shouldn’t leave a review during these times without mentioning the Covid protection measures.

Ahead of our stay we received notification of what to expect, along with an advanced check-in questionnaire to complete on line.

On arrival we were welcomed by Steven who safely handled our check-in, and then explained their procedures to us. This was done at an appropriate social distance and with face masks in use. Keys had been cleaned, and there was no need for us to exchange any pens or paper work.

Apart from wearing a face mask while walking in the public areas of the hotel (a legal requirement anyway) everything else was made seamless by the way that Chris and Steven and planned the eating areas and the schedules.

There are many more examples, but I won’t go on any more about Covid. Suffice to say that Chris and Steven take their responsibilities very seriously indeed and have things very well covered without it becoming a burden on the guests.

As for the hotel itself, I cannot give high enough praise.

It is located on the promenade road, so you can step across and be on the seafront in seconds, or you can walk just a few minutes along the road to the café’s , bars or eating places in Llandudno

The hotel has its own FREE car park. A big bonus as many alternatives that I considered were asking you to park on the road with no guarantee of a nearby place.

We had comfortable room with a good strong shower, a view over the mountains and it was spotlessly clean.

The freshly prepared breakfast was superb. My wife needs a gluten free diet yet Chris and Steven were able to offer gluten free options and alternatives for pretty much everything on the menu.

We took the evening meal on our final evening, and are now regretting that we did not eat there more often. The meals were home-made, tasty, plentiful and terrific value.

Chris and Steven are excellent hosts, and nothing is too much trouble when it comes to making your stay as safe and enjoyable as possible.

North Wales has a lot to offer, and we are looking forward to a return visit to Swn Y Mor in the future.
