Despite being local(ish) myself and my partner stayed for two nights just to escape the 'new normal' amid the Covid looniness. A lovely little guest house very close to all local amenities. The room was very very clean and was bright and airy...its a lovely change go have proper coffee in the room and delicious home made Welsh cakes. The owners are very friendly and always on hand to help with questions. Breakfast was served to our room due to the Covid regulations which was nice as we then had breakfast in bed at no extra charge!!... and as a fussy vegetarian I had the most delicious home made vegetarian sausages and potato rostis Ive ever tasted!! (Owner even gave me her recipe)!! It was nice having a little break and have already booked to return !! Thanks for a lovely time!! …
2 of us stayed for 2 nights at Bodnant Guest House to visit Snowdonia and Llandudno. We wanted to leave early to make the most of the 3 days we stayed so having a nice hot breakfast delivered to our door at 08:30 was perfect! The room and facilities were pristine on our arrival and was about a 5-10 minute walk from most of Llandudno.
I always aim to write a fair review and highlight the positives and areas that need consideration for improvement. Covid-19 definitely impacted on the spoilt breakfast experience as not enough room to social distance therefore breakfast delivered to room at 8:30, no choice of time as you're told that's when it will be left outside your bedroom. 8:30 far too early, especially when guests can't check into the hotel until after 4pm and 2 hours before you have to vacate at 10:30. The positives were that the breakfast was hot, but no option to select toast on the form so the first morning we didn't get any so I asked for it on the form for the second morning. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, nice decor and liked that you got complimentary water and chocolates. Bedroom 4 has a tiny shower, my partner isn't large but he just about fitted in it. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes away from the station. It cost £95 per night. I personally think it would have been worth paying an extra £10 and stay in the promenade in a hotel that had more facilities. Its hard to comment on the proprietors as apart from saying hello and goodbye, we didn't get to see or speak to them. I'm not sure why it's a 4star Hotel? There's nothing wrong with the hotel but nothing amazing either hence a very fair three stars. …
Can’t fault this guest house. Had room 5 this week (Aug 2020). Covid 19 changes seem logical, sensible and well implemented. Lovely (soft) comfortable bed and ‘soak & sleep’ pillows (Which ‘Which!’ Rate as the best). Fresh modern decor. Lovely and clean. Nice fluffy towels. Shower is electric so not very powerful but effective and hot water on tap. Looks like the room has been fairly recently updated; nice carpet and furniture. Plentiful selection of teas and coffees. It was quite warm this week and we requested a fan, which fortunately one was available. Not much of a view but that wasn’t an issue. Only minor niggle is there is limited space for hanging clothes. Room cost £88/night and this was good value. Dining room closed due to Covid restrictions so breakfast ordered each day ahead, served in cardboard containers with disposable cutlery. Delivered to your door each morning in a brown paper bag, so enjoyed breakfast in bed several days. The solution worked very well and the quality of food was excellent. Plenty of choice. Brilliant poached eggs. Lovely grilled bacon and nice sausage. This was an excellent breakfast. Initially no option to request toast, but we did request some via a note on the booking sheet and we did receive toast. Parking is limited to 2 spaces on the drive, but on-road parking close by shouldn’t be an issue. All in all, an excellent B&B. Good value. Would stay again. Note to travellers, you MUST book restaurants and attractions ahead of time. Many restaurants were fully booked 2 or more days ahead, so check Tripadviser before departing for options and book ahead. I’d recommend ‘Tops’ for Chinese. ‘The Albert’ is a gastro pub very close by the B&B with real-ales and food. Couldn’t get a table for food but good beer and nice pub.…
Fabulous stay. Lovely clean fresh room with a wonderful tasty welcome of delicious Welsh cakes. I was a little nervous staying away with Covid restrictions in place, but Jules & Jo managed it all so well. Plenty of sanitiser, superbly clean room and breakfast was an absolute delight. What a treat having breakfast delivered to our room each morning. Packaged well, delicious yoghurt with granola, and by far the BEST french toast I’ve ever eaten. Nothing too much trouble we will certainly be visiting again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
