The Lawton & Lauriston Court Hotel boasts a prime spot that earns praise for its proximity to local attractions and sea views that many guests enjoy from their rooms. The staff's friendliness is often highlighted, though some visitors point out issues with organization and room service. While the atmosphere is generally comfortable, noise levels and the need for updates in some areas have been noted.
Cleanliness is typically well-regarded, but there are mentions of areas needing more attention. Lastly, additional costs and outdated amenities have led some to question the hotel's overall value.

Detailed Reviews

Having been in the house for 4 months it was time for a change of scenery and 3 nights away, thanks to trip advisor reviews this was our hotel of choice.
Location: Absolutely perfect. Literally a minutes walk from the pier, at the right end of town for everything
Parking: such a bonus. We had a spot on the car park for 4 days and didn’t have to move the car but the system they have is great.
Rooms: The hotel is 3 original townhouses in one and the rooms are split black, red, white depending on which section you are in. There are also lounges or kitchen dining available in each. You move freely through as they are one building. We had room 5 black for my son and I and it was perfect. Essentially had separate single room, a double and a large bathroom. My parents came for one night and had 1 red, it was absolutely huge with a massive super king sized bed. Only warning, lots of stairs if you are on the higher floors - just something to consider
Staff: whatever they are being paid isn’t enough. The manager is there morning, noon and night. They are all way beyond polite but are genuinely warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This alone explains the reviews and awards as it makes an incredible difference
Food: Wow. Booked a table to save walking around town for our second evening. We had a reservation somewhere else for the next night but cancelled it to eat in the restaurant again. 4 of us cleared our plates and the word used was faultless. Absolutely l divine, just exceptional. Second night mine was as fabulous, my sons was a little less outstanding but still good. Breakfast is also done well, good quality and fresh
Covid: hand gel around the building, safety screen on the desk, distancing in dining room. No room servicing due to covid but a good system where you are given a form to request room items, you drop at reception and a bag is left outside your room as requested. We were only there 4 days had it been longer our growing pile of used towels would have been a nuisance but I’m sure we could have left outside our door, we didn’t ask because we didn’t need to. Not many masks being used but to be fair, in the while of Llandudno that was the case, even shops didn’t request it. Overall spotlessly clean and felt safe with good measures
Overall a really lovely much needed break. It’s hard when you are so award winning as people look to knock things down. My view is the awards are absolutely deserved, not because the hotel is full of gold and chandeliers and marble stair cases, but because the service, the price, the meals, the location - pretty much faultless. Thank you

Wow Carole thank you for taking time to write such a thorough and positive review for us. We think you have covered everything about the LC. August has been a very busy time for us with the added care and attention we have needed to add to be Covid 19 secure. Our team have been exceptional and as you say have worked so very hard to ensure all is spot on. Our chefs and kitchen staff, housekeeping teams, front of house crew and our managers certainly work as an amazing team all to make sure are guests are safe yet able to relax. Anything you need or any questions you only need to ask and we will act on it. We have car parking and as you so rightly say our location is simply the best along with it’s fantastic views. Our hotel is not palatial but it’s just really really lovely as it’s filled with lovely people, both guests and the LC team. Oh I nearly forgot ..there and no need to thank us as it’s all a pleasure. Warmest Regards until the next time Carol-Lynn Ian Hannah Scott and all the LC team 😊

Stayed here as a group of 5 in 3 separate rooms all in the black block, none of us had any complaints. Sea view room is slightly smaller but comes with a fancier coffee machine and a view.
Breakfast is just incredible, surprised I didn't gain a stone staying there for a week because I couldn't turn down such a delicious cooked breakfast! Only thing that I think could have been improved with breakfast is keeping yoghurts in the fridge or on a tray of ice as when I had one it was warm and it put me off. Fruit salad is available from the kitchen and it's super refreshing. Orange juice is provided, comes in a small glass which is all you need as you're not supposed to have large portions of pure fruit juice, however you can ask for another glass it's not a problem. Great selection of cereals all in mini boxes so you're not sharing with other guests. Nutella, jam and marmite all available. One person in the group mentioned they'd have preferred raspberry jam to strawberry, I'm sure if they'd requested it then this could have been found (both taste the same to me!) The breakfast staff were so friendly and lovely, especially Barry, Stacy and Lois.
Free tea, coffee and galaxy hot chocolate are in the rooms and available to be refilled daily. I don't drink tea and hardly ever coffee so to be given the option of hot chocolate is a hotel room luxury I've never experienced so I was extremely impressed, especially when provided with flump marshmallows to top it off!!
We stayed here for dinner one night and the food was gorgeous. Definitely recommend the lamb and chocolate orange brownie.
Great selection of drinks, I requested Martini Rosso and when not immediately found at the bar the staff rummaged around and found me some. Very impressed again.
There are 3 sitting areas to choose from, the one in the black block has puzzles and games which we made use of during the wet weather. Really glad that they were provided, managed to keep us entertained. DVDs are also available to borrow and watch in the rooms.
Parking is a nightmare on Llandudno seafront so the staff ensured we always had a space in the busy car park and would move cars around to help all guests. Really impressed.
This is definitely a 5 star service hotel and I can see why it has won awards! Would reccomend to anyone.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. We had a two night stay enjoying every minute. We booked a sea-view room with a bay window, a real chill out spot relaxing in a comfortable chair watching the world pass by. The location is perfect, just yards from the pier entrance with stunning views of the bay, especially when dark and you are able to enjoy all the lights around the bay. Our room was spacious, very well equipped with tea, coffee and hot chocolate and spotless. The bathroom was also sparkling with toiletries provided, I even discovered a shoe horn, it's the little thoughtful touches that make a difference. The addition of a Dining room is a wonderful move, the varied menu is a delight. The quality (and quantity) of the food is exceptional, I opted for the steak one night what a decision that was, probably one of the best I have ever had. A special mention to Rich who attended to our every need, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, well done. We thoroughly recommend a stay at this most welcoming hotel and look forward to our next visit. When the restrictions that we have all endured for so long are finally lifted, what an atmosphere you'll find there. Well done to everyone at The Lawton & Lauriston Hotel.

We came here as a group of 5 for 6 days. We all had a lovely time here. All the staff are so friendly and will help you out with anything you need. We stayed in the sea view room which was smaller than the other 2 rooms our group stayed in but this wasn’t a problem as I was aware of this when I booked it. The room was very clean and came with hot chocolate, flumps & lotus biscoff biscuits. Because of COVID the staff don’t come in your room during your stay so they give you a sheet of things you need for your room which you tick and leave at reception and they will leave what you order outside your room in a bag when you return, which I actually prefer, then I’m not worried about keeping the room clean.
For the parking, they offer spaces round the back, they may need your key if you are blocking someone in so they can move your car. I didn’t mind this. It’s rare that a hotel in Llandudno would have parking too.
Breakfast was very nice. We had a full breakfast which you can choose what you like off. They gave us toast and orange juice every morning. There was also a choice of jams, Nutella, marmite, yogurts and cereals each in their separate box.
We also had dinner here one night and it was so nice. Presented very well, lovely and friendly staff, especially Barry and Stacey. Food tasted amazing.
Overall had an amazing stay and would recommended to all!

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights the last wkend of September and loved it! The location is perfect on the sea front opposite the Pier, just around the corner from the town & also ideal for walking up the Great Orme. Having a car park is an added bonus! We had a lovely sea view room which was spotlessly clean & had everything we needed including toiletries & even hot chocolate & a Flump on the hospitality tray which was much appreciated! We had our evening meal in the Hotel restaurant on the Saturday night & wow it was superb! we had the lamb shank followed by the lemon & lime cheesecake ,it was one of the best meals we have ever had! Breakfast was also delicious with a good selection of continental & cooked, we both ate too much - it was too good to resist! Throughout our stay I must say we felt very safe with the Covid restrictions such as mask wearing in place. I also want to add that every member of staff we encountered were professional, polite & friendly. A special mention to Rich who i think is a real asset to the Hotel, he always seemed to be there on reception making a great first impression & is so helpful & informative, always asking if there was anything else we needed, I'm sure the Hotel appreciate what excellent staff they have. We also popped into the LC Drink & Dine pub owned by the Hotel which is just around the corner. The Sunday carvery looked delicious- we will be trying it next time ! We enjoyed our couple of hours in the pub.
We highly recommend the Lawton & Lauriston & will definitely be returning next year !

Location is spot on especially for the places we wanted to eat at, the sight seeing city tour bus stop is facing the hotel and the hotel is on the promenade facing the sea. On arrival my boyfriend ran inside and asked where to park and staff advised to drop the car on the back car park. There isn’t many spaces on the car park but once there it wasn’t for me to worry about, staff asked for my car key so they could manoeuvre cars should anyone need to leave. My car was safe and moved with care - can’t ask for better than that.
Breakfast service was friendly and the fried breakfast was great. No complaints with drinks from the bar/ room service.
For anyone anxious about the safety during covid please know it was very clean, staff wore masks and the tables in the dining room were well spaced apart to ensure social distancing.
10/10. I hope to return one time

When you stay at this hotel it is easy to see how they have won so many prestigous awards. From arrival to departure all members of staff displayed the highest possible levels of personality , service and efficiency. Unable to fault.
The bedrooms are stylish , comfortable and spotlessly clean ; we had a sea view bay window room with an outstanding view of the promenade and beyond. It was pleasure to sit in the window and admire the views.
We ate in the restaurant one evening and the meal and service were excellent. The restaurant manager displayed all the same qualities as the rest of the staff and provided faultless service.
If you didn't want to go out in the evning there is a very comfortable bar area serving drinks at competive prices.
Are we impressed ? We have booked two more nights dinner , bed and breakfast later in year.

We have had many visits to LC Hotels but each stay that feels like perfection is honestly outdone on our next stay! The owners and staff feel like friends and family, nothing is ever too much. Over the years we've been fortunate enough to stay in many of the rooms available and have never been disappointed, each room has it's own character, in design and layout, spotlessly clean and so comfortable! As for the food, we really look forward to our LC breakfasts, continental and cooked breakfast options are second to none. On our last nights stay we decided to take advantage of the room service and at £20 for 2 courses we were in our element! Top quality ingredients, perfect temperature, decent size portions, we could not find fault in any of our main courses and the desserts were mouth watering. We slept even better than the night before (if that's even possible) after our meal, so fulfilling and delicious. I cannot say enough about the staff especially Colin and Mike who are front of house, they made sure we could park within metres of the hotel and accommodated us when it came to us leaving and returning with no trouble at all. Was lovely to see Carol-lynn and Scott (owners) before we left too, it's the personal touch they show to all visitors, a true home from home.

we arrived at the hotel on 28th august 2021 to celebrate our belated 40th wedding anniversary which was in april but due to covid we couldn't go.
on arriving we had the warmest of welcomes, the staff gave us a parking space out front and carried our bags to the room which was on the first floor with a bay window and sea views.
the room was spacious and had all the amenities we would require, tea, coffee etc and a fridge, there was also an extra heater if required and a fan.
because of the covid restrictions if we needed anything i.e towels, toilet paper, shampoo or drinks we were given a piece of paper with tick boxes of the items required which we then gave into reception after breakfast and it would be waiting for us on our return.
the breakfast was amazing there was continental as well as a cooked welsh breakfast and everything in between, it really set us up for the day.
the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage.
we booked our evening meal in the hotel which was convenient for us. the meals themselves were amazing, there was plenty of food to eat infact sometimes too much. the quality was very high and all the food was delicious.
the staff were like family taking time to hat and share a joke, we were made to feel comfortable. the other guests were pleasant and we made new friends.
it was so good to be back and already have booked for next year, the whole experience was wonderful and by the end of the week we were well rested.
thank you to all the staff who were absolutely great. so looking forward to our next visit.

After a little problem in our Bathroom when the ceiling light blown lamp turned out to be more serious so it was impossible to shave. We were moved to another room as we had requested a shower only and this first room offered had a bath with a shower over it? As I had a back problem I was scared if I got into this bath I may not got out again as there was no grab handle to use? Our second room Red 5 was much better we found for us. We booked to eat a 2 course dinner for £20 each and both chose the Lamb Shank as our mains along with a Rose bottle of wine. For deserts we chose differently, but both deserts were very tasty as was the Lamb Shanks which fell off the bone so no issues to report there. First Welsh breakfast was awesome as well and both cold and hot options were on offer each morning for breakfast throughout. Our Christmas dinner at £40 each although very well cooked and tasty we found for the money the portions could have been bigger as with our duck breast I had two sprouts? Also the other dish of vegetables could have had more in it. Also the very small portion of Christmas pudding with white sauce and no brandy butter could have been bigger for the £40 it had cost us each.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I hope you had an enjoyable stay with us. The £40.00 you frequently mention, for your Christmas Lunch, was £40.00 for 3 COURSES! A 3 course meal, on CHRISTMAS DAY @ £40.00 is an absolute bargain, I'm sure others will agree! I'm sorry you felt there wasn't enough veg with your meal & portion sizes were on the small side, if you would have pointed this our at the time, our team would have happily rectified, there and then. Our team, work tirelessly, year round to look after our guests & we do all we can to ensure our guests are happy. We even moved the coffee machine from the original room, to the room you moved into, on your request! We appreciate all feedback & will take on board where possible. Hannah, Scott & all the team :-)

Yes - double park at front of Hotel, report at Reception and they will advise. There are 2 parking areas at rear of Hotel n some at the front, (you display a Hotel provided notice on your dash).
Lauriston Court amalgamated with the hotels either side to make one larger one

Lancaster District, United Kingdom322 contributions203 helpful votesI read car parking is available on arrival. Could you clarify if this is just for arrival day or for the whole stay with yourselves? I know parking can be difficult around the prom
We had parking around the back of the hotel, a bit tight but as we didn't use the car after we arrived it was fine. Just go into reception on arrival and you will get sorted out.
Yes we do - we have a car park to the rear of the hotel & a parking system outside at the front. We guarantee all guests a parking space on arrival :) hope this helps, thanks, Hannah
