We stayed Thursday & Friday night at this hotel and it was a very nice stay.

They are in the process of renovating this so our room with a sea view had been done and was really clean and updated.

The staff that seemed to be on the reception desk, round the hotel seemed to be there whatever time you went in / out, they were so polite and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.

The room was even cleaned and biscuits / coffee and tea replenished which you don't normally get when staying a couple of nights so that was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you for an enjoyable stay even though Storm Arwen came in with a vengeance.

Great location from high street and pier! Very sizeable room for us, as a family of 4! All the rooms seem recently refurbished and young couple owners/managers are very welcoming! Only came for 1 night during half term but would 100% return. We benefited from breakfast, so cost was £124 for quad-family room including continental breakfast. Great find!

In the morning I received an email to allow me to fill in my personal details to speed up checking as well as a courtesy call to confirm my reservation and expected time of arrival. As someone who worries this was reassuring. When arriving at the hotel it was interesting getting into the car park. Once I got the code I found it very tight due to a car parked in one of the bays protruding much further than the lines. After some careful manoeuvring a member of staff informed me I could park lengthways against the wall instead. Which was a relief.
When we walked round to the front of the building the first thing I noticed was the beautiful view and facade of the hotel. It has an attractive coloured glass porch with a lovely art deco design. The location is absolutely perfect. Across the road from the beach and pier and a short stroll from all the restaurants, bars and attractions.
The lobby is calm and inviting. We checked in quickly and effortlessly once a very pleasant member of staff arrived.
Our room was very spacious and accessible. Immaculately clean and comfortable. The hotel can cater for wheelchair users so there was a wheelchair accessible shower in the bathroom (on the 3rd floor).
Due to the nature of the structure the floors are uneven which means there was a small gap under the door. The staff provided extra towels to block this for us.
The bar was clean, calm, comfortable and well stocked with a good selection of drinks and snacks. For a hotel so close to the pier it was also reasonably priced (approx £8 for a large white wine).
Breakfast was served between 8-10am with lots of choice. The room was spacious. Guests can help themselves to cereals, yoghurt, fruit and pastries etc. There is also a hot buffet. At busy times there was a short wait for some items as they are cooked in small batches. This means while you may wait a bit the items are all hot and fresh. The produce used is good quality and we enjoyed our meal. Other items such as poached and scrambled eggs are available on request.
The staff were exceptionally friendly. Anna and Natalia in particular made our stay very enjoyable. My son was upset when we left and already wants to go back. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

This hotel actually deserves a zero but trip adviser only lets you score one as the lowest number.
This hotel has No WiFi No bar you are just paying for the bed to sleep in which is a total rip off.
You can stay at the Merrion next door for the same price which has a bar breakfast included unlimited WiFi car park and evening meal if you want it for extra £15.
Manager of The Esplanade said his prices reflect the other hotels well the other hotels are the same price but with everything included.
This hotel is just ripping people off. Manager even said all his customers are complaining about the same thing but nothing is being done about it.
Manager was rude and totally unhelpful.
What hotel does not have WiFi ?
We didn’t expect breakfast because it was not included but £140 for a night is totally unacceptable when there is No WiFi or bar but the hotel website clearly shows all the extra things the hotel is supposed to offer.
This is totally the worst hotel in Llandudno

We were unfortunate to stay on the same night as a Rugby Club. Throughout the night there was noise from people using the lift, singing and in the room above various noises that could have been a rugby match in progress. It only quietened down after 5:30 a.m.

Both Rugby Club and Hotel should have an arrangement that ensures that they book the whole hotel. It is unfair for other guests to have to suffer as we did on this visit. More should have been done by both to ensure that the noise after an agreed time is cut to a minimum. Booking.com should probably also check whether large parties like this have been booked in and either not offer the hotel or advise of the possible disturbance as part of the booking process. None of these have enhanced their reputation with us as a result of our experience.

The lift volume is way too high. Throughout the night we could clearly hear 'doors opening' etc echoing down the corridor. We understand that this had been raised before but had not been rectified yet.

The room was hot and despite trying to reset the temperature stayed that way.

We thought the hotel was non-smoking but there was a cigarette butt in the lift.

On the plus side the beds were comfortable, it does have a good location and Anna on reception was sympathetic when we complained of the night we had spent in the morning.

Because of a recent refurbishment the hotel is really only currently offering somewhere to sleep until further work has been completed. Given that we were unable to sleep we can only give the worst possible rating. Possibly in other circumstances it would have been better.

10/10!!
10 of us stayed at the Esplanade Llandudno for the Victorian extravaganza
Excellent accommodation/ location
Recently opened new bar & lounge area
Which has been tastfully chosen to provide comfort & style.
All the members of staff were extremely helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb and offered hot cooked breakfast aswel as full continental.
The entire hotel and rooms caters for every need (including the disabled and children
Which was perfect for my mother who had a Z frame and my young grandchild who stayed with us).

We highly recommend tbis hotel & we are looking forward to staying again in the near future.

Brilliant and clean. Was bit shocked when looked at outside but was delighted by the inside. Location brilliant for town and beach.
Brilliant amazing. Also bar on site lovely atmosphere.
Breakfast is self service and was more than what you needed full cooked hot and all u could want for continental. All staff work hard and a very attentive nothing was to much trouble.
Car park at back of property lovely touch.
Fan and hairdryer in room.
If I was to say anything I would like to suggest.
Draft covers for bottom of bedroom doors as gap is large and light shines through.
Also need 2 pillows per person we was in a king and only had one pillow each. I’m sure if I had asked one would have been given.
None of these things take away from this amazing budget hotel.
Can’t wait to come bk❤️

I stayed at the Esplanade Hotel, accompanied by my friends and we all agreed that this was a warm welcome with professional service. The cleanliness and spaciousness was apparent everywhere and we were especially impressed by the attention to accessibility as one of my friends was a wheelchair user. Our hosts assured us that they would do all in their power to accommodate any special needs we might have on this occasion and in future. So this hotel is firmly on our list for future reference. I had a room with a sea view on the third floor and it was wonderful to look at the curve of the bay and to watch the dawn (I set my alarm in order to do this). The continental breakfast was excellent. Llandudno itself is a charming town which has retained its quality of tasteful restraint, whilst offering all that a small seaside resort can encompass. A visit to the Mostyn art gallery never disappoints.

We recently went on a trip with family to Llandudno and stayed in this hotel. We stayed in a large family room overlooking the sea front. We were treated to some stunning sun rises. My parents had a double room also overlooking the sea.

Breakfast was good with a cooked and cold selection. As a vegetarian I was asked if I wanted a veggie sausage with my breakfast and they happily cooked it for me. They asked about our dietary requirements on arrival.

The rooms were comfortable, warm with a disabled friendly bathroom. The reception staff - in fact - all staff we met were lovely and friendly. Wi-fi was complimentary.

The carpark at the rear was so convenient and we were able to leave our car there all weekend without worry.

We’ll definitely visit again as we love Llandudno and this location was perfect for us to explore. Our daughter enjoyed the Ferris wheel on the pier and the ski centre where she had a fab time tobogganing. There’s plenty to do for children and teenagers to keep them amused.

We are a family of five. We stayed at The Esplanade hotel for three nights. I booked it after reading the reviews on here! I was not disappointed. The rooms are extremely spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. The refreshments were replenished every day. The reception staff was extremely helpful, courteous and accommodating. The location is superb being situated on the beach front. We were very very lucky with the weather. There is lots to do but prepared to queue! The cable car provided stunning views, the jet speed boat ride got us squealing with excitement, children enjoyed the tobagganing but the queuing time was ridiculous, be warned. The Forte restaurant in the centre serve delicious hot Italian food, The Ham bone are topnotch deli for breakfast. Use the hop on and off tour bus to visit Conwy castle or a stop off at the outdoor paddling pool for younger kids and of course the customary fish and chips is a must! The only downside was the lack of WiFi in the hotel.
