Book your stay with us for the best rate, and enjoy all the mod cons of our 28 room lodge accommodation: en-suite bathroom, digital television and free WIFI. A complimentary breakfast - cooked and continental - is served daily, and if you have friends in the area we would welcome them to join us for breakfast too. We boast a varied and extensive menu with a superb daily carvery right at the heart what we do. The carvery is freshly prepared and offers a choice of three succulent meats carved by our friendly chefs, temptingly displayed alongside a wide range of seasonal vegetables and homemade Yorkshire puddings. At the bar you can choose from a superb selection of cask ales from Marston's' five breweries, a great wine list featuring choices from the distinguished Rothschild wineries, as well as an impressive range of ciders, soft drinks and spirits. Our Nescafe Milano coffee range is the ideal accompaniment for one of the fabulous and irresistible giant desserts from our unmissable cake cabinet. And if you haven't got time to stop, simply order your cake "to go" and we'll box it up for you to take home or to your room. For our younger diners then our award winning menu offers a great range of dishes including yummy desserts and their favourite drinks. To keep them entertained we have an indoor play area for toddlers and an external play area for children. Make the most of good weather (when it comes!) in our fantastic patio, ideal for either alfresco dining or a relaxing drink. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Another great sunday roast at the Mermaid Inn superb calvery with friendly staff this place never lets us down. Changed the menu slightly it's now included roast lamb and roast parsnips, the desserts are superb and irresisterble.
Stayed at The Mermaid after watching West Brom at Ipswich Town, great location. Nice clean, comfortable rooms. Spotless. Great pub next door selling good beer and excellent food, the carvery was lovely and a freshly cooked full English breakfast for £6.95. A special mention to Hayley one of the staff who is a brilliant front of house - very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We will return!
Stayed for one Friday night as had early appointment on Saturday. Easy to find. Great parking, easy check in with friendly staff. Check in at the pub. Rooms warm clean and a decent size. Good food for evening meal with 20% off for booking direct with hotel. Breakfast the next morning was served in the pub with good choice, quick service and tasty. Would definitely stay again if in the area Very helpful friendly staff.
Stayed overnight for 2 nights- wonderful hotel! Ample parking, quiet rooms, good bathrooms- couldn't complain!
Breakfast was very good, large choice from continental and cooked!
On one night we went for a drink and pudding in the pub, this is when we struck a rude waiter, seemed he didn't really want to be there! When asked for a drink with no lime, he went and put lime in the drink!! We ordered a pudding and were asked for a table number which we didn't know we had to do, so I pointed to a quiet area of the pub, which he ignored and instructed us to sit on another table next to a large party with young children! His customer service skills need some improvement!!
Stayed here when visiting family in the area, we stayed as a family of 3. Two adults and a 2 year old child. The room is a lovely big size, (we got the family room 2 adults, 2kids) they provided a travel cot for us. The room is clean, I liked that bottled water was provided. However for families with young children who still drink bottles of milk, not having a fridge in the room for fresh milk made things difficult for us. I would also like to suggest that an extra pillow is provided for the cot, our child is 2 and could probably go in the bed but worried about him falling out of an unfamiliar bed/room we chose the cot option but had to give up one of our pillows as one wasn’t provided. I understand for younger children safe sleeping guidelines say no pillows but the option would have been nice. The food in the pub itself is fantastic and we had several lovely meals including the roast dinner and the continental/hot breakfast. Check out was at 11 which is very reasonable and the fact that we got 20% off food made the stay even better. Super fast WiFi and quiet comfy rooms. We will be returning.

we do have a medical fridge in our reception area for all guests to use, however there isn't a freezer in here. We do however have a freezer in the pub adjacent to the Lodge. Access to this would though be during permitted hours of 7am - 11pm and not overnight. I hope this information helps you
Kind Regards and happy holidays
