We visited Ipswich specifically to see the Ark and the Travelodge was literally across the road from the marina where it was docked! We had a room at the front of the hotel which did mean there was a bit of traffic noise but it had a lovely view over the marina with a gorgeous sunset. There was a good number of car parking spaces at the hotel and we managed to park easily, however we did notice that later in the evening it was full so would advise getting parked early if possible (there was a car park just across the road if required, although unsure of charges). The room was lovely and warm when we arrived (was a very cold February day) and we managed to maintain the heat which was great. The staff were super helpful and friendly. We ordered a pizza from the bar/restaurant and were able to take it back to our room which was nice- food was served quickly and was very tasty, competitive price as well. We hadn't ordered breakfast from the hotel but there was a lovely little cafe (Cafe Marina) literally across the road which served breakfast all day as well as a great range of other food / drinks (lovely service, very clean and great prices) which would be a great alternative.

Thanks for all the help at Ipswich Travelodge great stay and staff were brilliant. Near to town buses just outside side of hotel, food is good and plenty to do in Ipswich. What I would like mention is the assesible rooms at Travelodge fit for any disabled persons so if you need a break you can always relax here.also good value for breakfast at 8.75 all you can eat give top score 10 reason for the kindness staff have shown not only to me but other customers.

Our team were playing Ipswich & afterwards we returned for happy hour, 5-7pm for £2.50 drinks & meal deal £8.95. Food was great disappointed by drink choices. We stayed in the bar with our 7 yo. All evening we were looked after by Catia who was a credit to the Travelodge team. The room was clean & the breakfast was reasonable at £8.50 each kids eat free. Recommend staying here & we will again.

I Complained to The Staff on The Front Desk Who Were Very Apologetic for The Poor Service we had Received Said They Would Be in Touch but To This Day Still Have Not Heard Back from Them Not Good Customer Service

The staff were nice enough. In the evening there appeared to be only two people on duty, one of which cooked the food as well as serving at the desk. No problems at all as they were very helpful, but at times it did seem understaffed. The window to the room was not sound proof so we could hear the traffic outside. The people working in the morning on the floor were noisy and chatting away right outside our room. We asked for a different pillow as it was lumpy, only to be told they're all the same. The carpet on our floor had a ridge in it all the way along the corridor. Not the best stay I've had at a hotel, and definitely the worst travel lodge I've stayed in.

It is what it is. Basic. The cleanliness in the room wasn’t great. No plug sockets near a mirror cleaning hadn’t been carried out sufficiently during Covid. bathroom Wasn’t the cleanest. When the mirror steamed up after a shower it showed that someone had written on the mirror and therefore hadn’t been cleaned

Only stayed one night, we were passing through. Very good value, couldn’t fault the room, very clean and comfortable. Thank you very much for allowing us to bring our dog, so many other hotels fail on this request. We were lucky to have been given a room over looking the car park which l understand is much quieter. The only slight complaint would be the cost of a small child’s size bottle of Pepsi to have in our room at £2.75 each. Based on this l would advise bringing drinks with you especially if you are a family, due to the very high cost.

Looked to be a modern building or recently refurbished. Parking £2 for 24 hours which is very reasonable for city centre hotel. Staff very friendly on reception. Clean room with everything you expect from a Travelodge.
Don’t get a room facing the road - very poor sound insulation and even with industrial standard ear plugs you will struggle to sleep. Also get a room on very top floor as sound transmission from rooms above very high.
A word for Travelodge Please Please Please do something about your dreadfully uncomfortable foam pillows.
The bed also seems narrower than the rival beds of a budget chain used previously.
Minor things that would make me want to stay again though not in Ipswich.

We were staying in Ipswich to attend our grand daughters christening, this hotel is within easy walking distance of their house so ideally placed. As we had our Labrador with us we had little choice of hotels where we could stay with him but travelodge thankfully welcome dogs. It’s central location within five minutes of the town centre and right on the marina with its cafes and bars is great. We had a room looking out onto the marina so a good view but that comes with a lot of road noise that goes on until late at night. The hotel externally looks tired but the rooms are clean and tidy with great comfy beds. Would be nice to have glasses in the room for a drink of water but just a small request. Free Parking can be an issue as it only has a small car park but there is a large pay and display just over the road. Staff were all friendly and helpful, we did not use the bar or restaurant so can’t comment but they were being well used. Overall all you could request from a city centre hotel.

It was a 40 quid night a hotel that included free parking - so when it's that cheap one has to put into perspective what to expect.

It is very basic - but it's a central location, it was clean, it had free parking, and it was cheap.

If you are looking for a place to sleep - it does a job.
