Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Blacksmiths cottage early August 2023. The cottage itself is beautiful and well appointed. The welcome from Sue and the welcome pack was lovely. The issues we experienced were what marred the stay. We had no hot water for 3 days. This, I was informed was due to an electrical fault in the games room, which controls the boiler. Despite reporting this, there was no solution or gesture of goodwill offered. The laundry facilities were not working at this time, adding to our frustration. The WiFi is also virtually non existent, which is compounded by poor phone signal (ee and 3) which, although not their responsibility, did not allow us to access the Internet during our stay. In summary - lovely cottages/location Poor management in dealing with their responsibilities as commercial landlords.

I stayed here in March, and would really recommend it, Sue, the owner, is so very friendly and helpful, and the accommodation was really clean and comfortable. If travelling with children, this would be a great way of introducing them to farm animals, they could even collect their own freshly laid eggs in the mornings, from the nearby hen coops!.

We stayed in Fisherman's Rest, a bungalow suitable for wheelchair. Very spacious 2 bedrooms, 2 wet rooms & well-equipped kitchen with a lovely welcome pack in the fridge. A short drive into Ipswich or plenty of footpaths from the farm. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing weekend on the farm. In particular an opportunity for our 4 year old grandson to be introduced to farm life - help with grooming the Shetland pony, collect eggs, play on a creative climbing frame and slide. He will always think fondly of the amazing farmer, Sue who is brilliant with small children

Have just returned from a one week stay in the lovely Fishermans Rest Cottage which is perfect for a family with one double room with ensuite and a large twin room with attached wet room. The cottage was lovely and clean on arrival and equipped with all you need for a perfect holiday, including a tasty welcome pack. Sue as always is available if you need her for any questions and is great with children , my daughter so enjoyed spending time with her and all the animals especially Peanut the lovely little pony which she was so pleased to be able to ride. In my daughters words it is the perfect place for me ! This was the 3rd time we have visited and will be returning next year. There are many things to do nearby including Colchester Zoo and Easton Farm Park both great days out.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Damerons farm with our young grand children. We had such a lovely time. Sue was so good with the kids and let them collect eggs for their breakfast, feed the lambs and groom the little Shetland pony. My granddaughter even got to ride on him. Thorough recommend this for a young family. There is so much to do in the area too. Thanks so much Sue xx

Just had a terrific Easter break. Our party consisted of me and my 10yo daughter. I didn't see my daughter for dust! She was up at 7am helping muck out the horses and helping on the farm!! Sue is completely lovely and welcoming. We had the smallest option of 'The Hayloft' - Perfect for the 2 of us with everything we'd need to whip up food and also to relax. It's cost and a home from home! They have sheep, horses and chickens on the farm - Don't forget your wellies :) There's a hungry horse just down the road which is extremely good value for eating out. Ipswich and a superstore are on the doorstep. We visited Banham zoo which is a smaller but lovely zoo for the day. Approx 50 mins by car. Bury St Edmunds is totally lovely and 25 mins drive away. Gorgeous Abbey/Gardens and tea rooms. It's terrific value and I would highly recommend it!

If you want a place to stay then damerons farm is the place to go. The owner Sue is super nice, if you ask then she will let you help out around the farm. Plus there are hundreds of things to do like fish for carp, feeding the chickens, sheep and stroking the horses. Also playing in the hay barn. You will never get bored. There is also lots of different wildlife around like rabbits, foxes, deer and swallows. I always feel sad when I have to leave damerons farm. Callum Cox age 9
