Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came for dinner at the Amalfi Italian restaurant to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Asked the chef, Mark, to cook us up something special and whatever he recommends - and without a doubt was the best meal I have eaten in my entire life. What a talented man. I can’t remember the names of the waiting staff but they were also fantastic. We had such a wonderful evening and will definitely be returning and hope to stay in the hotel next time too (was fully booked this trip)

Booked for my husband 60th Birthday for the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. Wonderful welcome. Room ready early which was a fabulous added bonus. I booked a sea view room 104 which was beautiful The view was stunning. We were delighted. Breakfast every morning was great. Also the Chinese and Fish & Chips Mmmmm Couldn’t fault it at all. All the staff are a credit and good staff like this are hard to find. Room was a high standard of cleanliness. Fresh towels every day. All condiments tea, coffee etc were replenished daily. Would I like to stay here again ABSOLUTELY. Great to be able to park on site as I’ve got a lung disease. As for Sandbanks it self I don’t see what the attraction is - I thought it would be more prettier if I’m honest.

Such a beautiful hotel with views that are simply breathtaking. Everything was perfect from start to finish. All the staff were amazing and the lady that checked us in (Mollie) deserves a special mention. We were so happy to find our room exactly as we had hoped, beautifully clean with perfect decor and views. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had and we travel all the time. We look forward to returning and enjoying a longer stay as one night stands s simply not enough! Compliments to the management and staff, we highly recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Love this hotel and where it’s located, great views over Poole harbour. We particularly like to stay in room 208 as it has dual aspect patio doors and a balcony! Just a shame it’s not a glass balcony or metal so you can sit on it and. It be blocked by the stone wall to look at the view rather than standing but other than that small thing it’s a great little hotel and we always choose to stay here.

I originally wanted to book one of the the beachfront hotels, but they were closed, however we were not disappointed! The room was lovely, and it was a good size. The decor was excellent, with none of the tiredness you sometimes get, and it was spotlessly clean too. The staff were very accommodating, and the hotel was only 3 minutes to the lovely sandy Sandbanks/Bournemouth beach, so perfect for long walks into Bournemouth town, the pub, dinner, or just paddling. The food in the Amalfi restaurant at the hotel was fantastic. I can highly recommend the Vesuvio pizza, and my partner is vegan. Usually, this is a problem, but not when you have a head chef like Mark Nagle there is no need to worry. Mark is THE reason why we'd go back, not that there was anything wrong with the hotel at all but Mark is a credit to the hotel, an amazing chef who really cared. He even made a one off vegan desert for my partner! Top hotel, top accommodation, top location (almost!) top staff. We will be back.

Possibly one of the best views of any hotel restaurant in southern England- Poole Harbour in all its glory. The menu is a bit pricey and not a lot of choice but it's a great place to meet friends. Nice atmosphere, comfortable chairs, and great coffee.

Another lovely stay in one of the Harbour View rooms. Plenty of space in the well-appointed room, the bed was very comfortable and the views were beautiful. Staff are friendly and welcoming, helpful and efficient. A good breakfast to start the day and a lovely meal one evening in the hotel's Chinese restaurant. Location is great - the perfect base for exploring Poole, Bournemouth and the New Forest area.
