We have just come back from a lovely four night stay at South Lytchett Manor, we had mixed weather, April showers were in full swing, However, this did not dampen our spirits staying here. We were in a fully serviced pitch which had privacy hedges around us and an unspoilt lawn space with a picnic table on it which we made full use of when the sun was out. We had our VW T5 Transporter with a large awning.
The shower facilities were near by and immaculately kept, I noticed they were cleaned regularly at 11am each day when we were there, fresh flowers too in the facility, a nice touch! There was also a laundry, washing up area, all clean and modern. There is a well separated off area for rubbish and recycling (I don't like it when I have been camping at other sites and the rubbish area is really close and visible when you are washing your dishes, especially in summer)
The customer service we received from all the staff was very friendly and helpful from start to finish of our break. The little cafe/reception had a nice atmosphere, we sampled the morning baked goods pain au chocolat and other pastries, very delicious and reasonably priced.
We did not use our transporter much as there is a bus stop right outside the main campsite gate at £2 a ticket on the X40 which has excellent travel links to local tourist attractions. We enjoyed trips to Corfe Castle and Swanage, we especially loved the nostalgia of riding on a steam train.
In conclusion, we will not hesitate to come back to South Lychett Mannor, it was a 5 star quality stay a charming place with history. I will recommend to family and friends.

What a delightful review! We are thrilled to read that your found our park to be exceptionally clean and our team friendly. We strive to continually provide a warm and welcoming service and it's lovely to read that we achieved that during your visit with us. Our teams really do work hard to ensure our facilities are cleaned to the highest possible standard, and its refreshing to see that their work does not go unnoticed. Our morning croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisins really are tasty, but if you fancy something a little different, we also serve delicious cream tea, a variety of locally homemade cakes, and mouth-watering steak pasties and sausage rolls. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. ^Victoria

Amazing!!!! We originally stopped at the site around 6 years ago and we loved it then. However it's only got better. From first arriving you were greeted with the friendliest welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The staff were all so friendly, always spoke and wished you a good morning really couldn't do enough for you. We stayed in the minster field and it was immaculate. Very good sized pitches and well maintained. We stayed for a week and in that week there was always maintenance going on whether that be mowing or hedge trimming or cleaning the toilet and shower facilities which by the way were immaculate! They really do look after the site. The shop/cafe is brilliant. Well stocked and long convenient opening times 8am-10pm! From freshly baked pastries and baked bread to lovely cakes and coffee. There were food vans every night. We personally didn't use these but the food looked lovely. Some reviews mention high cost of these but personally when you go camping it's self catering. So adding these to the site daily is purely convenience to some and we'll worth the money. The site is also perfectly located close to beaches, shops and pubs. Thank You again for such a lovely stay. We will definitely be returning👌

Just returned from South Lytchett Manor holiday park after a four night camping break with our ever faithful hound. I can’t emphasise enough how dog friendly this site is, not only is there a huge off lead walking area, there is also a fully equipped dog washing area complete with doggy shampoo. Every member of the team go the extra mile to ensure everyone enjoys their breakaway and nothing seems to be too much trouble. This site and its facilities are extremely well maintained and are a credit to its owners and their commitment to offering excellent customer service. Visiting food vans each evening are all worth a visit offering everything from Fish and Chips to speciality pancakes, and don’t forget the bacon rolls every morning. This site is perfectly positioned for trips to everything Dorset has to offer, if you’re looking for a site that caters for all ages you’ve found it, if you want to play loud music, get drunk and generally be a nuisance find somewhere else, that type of behaviour is not tolerated. This was our second visit and it certainly won’t be the last.

What a superb and detailed review! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us and fellow travellers. We love dogs here at South Lytchett Manor and as you mention, we have a dedicated 2.5 acre off lead dog area, free dog wash facilities and a well stocked shop full of pet essentials, including doggy ice cream! Receiving such wonderful feedback about our team and the upkeep of our park is truly heartwarming. I'll make sure to pass on your kind words. As you say we are very fortunate to host a variety of food vans that visit our park weekly during the peak season. Their arrival dates are available on our Facebook page and website. With a selection ranging from delicious pancakes, hearty Yorkshire pudding wraps to classic British fish and chips, exquisite stone-baked pizza, exceptional street food including loaded fries, authentic German bratwurst sausage, and a savoury bacon and egg sandwich in the morning glow, we have all your cravings covered! Our park is exceptionally family-oriented, emphasizing fun-filled days; so we kindly request that all guests honour the strict quiet rule after 10:30pm. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! ^Victoria

Great location, avoid pitch 215 Review of South Lytchett Manor Caravan And Camping Park Reviewed today The pros The site is in a great location for visiting all the beautiful beaches and towns in the area. Food vans visit the site each night if you dont fancy cooking but they arent cheap - not the sites fault though. Theres a shop on site offering essentials and also a small cafe. We were allowed to check in early as our pit was ready at 11.30.
The cons We were given a pitch with a considerable slope. See the attached picture. I didnt realise how badly this would impact my quality of sleep until the first night when I was constantly awakened as my sleeping bag slid off the airbed and I had to keep dragging it back on. The showers were very busy in the mornings and several times my husband and I had to queue. The minster field was very noisy. Children running and cycling between pitches isnt my idea of a relaxing holiday. Unfortunately I am unable to take my holidays during the school term and was hoping this site would be quieter as there are no facilities for children but that wasnt the case. There were no roads on the fields as shown on the website and I think this is very misleading. It is one huge field with no boundaries between pitches which reminded me of being at a music festival, rather than a 5 star campsite as one reviewer has already mentioned. Cars were being driven around the field well after dark. I find this very dangerous considering the lack of road and theres the risk of a car causing serious injury if it ploughs into a tent. There was lots of road noise from cars and motorbikes from the mainroad very late at night. I doubt this would be an issue if you were in a motorhome though. We decided to leave early due to the sloping pitch causing lack of sleep. I did email the site to say we were going and to let them know why and that the pitch was free if anyone needed a one night stopover but got no response.
I doubt I would return as I have visited this area several times and would prefer an adult only site as I have no choice but to take my holidays when schools are closed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are very lucky to be situated in a great location only 10 minutes from Poole and 20 minutes from Bournemouth. We also have great transport links with the bus stop right outside our main gates ready to take you on an adventure to explore all that Dorset has to offer. I highly recommend guests check out the Jurassic Adventurer! The guideline tracks showing on our park map are not advertised as roads, but they are there to indicate access. Most of our pitches in the Camping Field are Large Super Pitches to the size of 9x6 with additional 3-6 metre fire breaks. Our team typically responds to all email enquiries within 24 hours, so I'm surprised to see that a response was not sent to you. After reviewing the emails from the past seven days, I have not found an email matching your description. Unfortunately, due to the limited details provided, I cannot search our email account with just your email address; however, if you could forward the initial email to my direct email address at Victoria@SouthLytchettManor.co.uk, I will be able to look into this for you. As you say this pitch is slightly sloped. Whilst we have not previously received feedback about this pitch causing any issues for our guests, I'm sorry to see this affected your holiday enjoyment. Where anything is not to our guest’s satisfaction, we do ask that you speak with a member of our team so that we can look to resolve this whilst staying with us. Please be assured if we had known the upset this was causing, we would have certainly done our utmost to move you to an alternative pitch for the full duration of your stay. Whilst I appreciate you say you contacted our team via email to say you were leaving, we would always advise you see us in person so we can deal with the matter there and then. During the Summer Holidays our park is predominantly filled with families. Whilst we still have many couples visit us during this time, our quieter months are during our low season dates. If you did wish to return to us, I would be happy to personally supervise your booking so I can ensure you are allocated in a quieter area. Should you wish to discuss any return visits, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Kindest Regards Victoria

We've been to the campsite multiple times over the past 10 years. We love the family friendly nature, by 9:30pm the campsite is very quiet. We did have one incident a few years ago with a couple of lads being drunk and very loud in the middle of the night. They we're swiftly removed early in the morning by staff.
The shop is ideal for those forgotten essentials. The bakery and coffee is great. Food vans visit the site in the week. They are silly expensive though. If you want fish and chips, take the 3min drive up the road for normal prices. The funky fries van, while delicious, was £10 for a small portion of topped fries. The service is also painfully slow at times. (high demand and small capacity).
The grounds are well kept, shower/toilet facilities are well kept but having visited this site many times I do think they are starting to show their age and could do with a refurb. But still clean and tidy. Never had to wait for a shower, just pick the right time.
If you're looking to make your first camping trip this place wont disappoint. 15-20min drive to the beach in Poole.
Highly recommend a visit to Exbury Gardens (1 hour away)
We'll be back but I do think they need to update the facilities now.

We stayed in one of the new glamping yurts and it was beautiful. Everything was immaculate and so cosy. We had awful weather during our stay but we were lovely and warm in the yurt. Staff were very welcoming at check in/ out and the yurts are a 30 second walk to facilities, which were also to a very high standard. We were impressed with all the little extra details, including USB charging ports, a wireless charger, free wifi and the beautiful decor. We will definitely be returning.

We were recommended to South Lytchett touring park by a Facebook group, and we were so pleased that we followed it up.
Conveniently located to Swanage, Poole, Bournemouth and all the lovely beaches around the Isle of Purbeck there is something for everyone within a short drive.
We were met and greeted by really friendly staff, and after booking in someone escorted us to our pitch to guide us on and explained where all the facilities were.
We opted for a serviced grass pitch, which was spacious and level. The gravel hard standing pitches were also nice and level from what we saw, if a little squeezed in.
The shower/toilet blocks were spotless and regularly serviced. Lovely warm showers.
There is a shop on site selling all the essentials and a variety of food vans come on different nights of the week which seemed to be very popular. We didn’t get an opportunity to sample them so can’t vouch for the quality/value.
It’s a very dog friendly site, with designated dog walking areas and a fantastic dog shower, complete with dog shampoo and hairdryer!! All dog owners complied with site rules and kept their furry friends on leads, as requested. Our two loved it.
Overall we were really happy with our holiday and will definitely return. 5* from us.

Spent four nights at South Lychett Manor with my husband and 13 year old son and 2 dogs. What a wonderful site! We had a huge hardstanding fully serviced pitch which was surrounded by a hedge so very private and sheltered. Facilities were very clean and the site is well maintained and looked after. The small shop and cafe onsite are lovely - reasonably well stocked and serving coffee and a selection of cakes/pastries etc and bacon rolls every morning. A different food van visits every night - the fish and chips are amazing! The site is well located and in easy reach of Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth and the Jurassic coast. Our dogs loved the off lead dog field - we didn’t need to use the dog wash but it’s well stocked with shampoo etc! We had a wonderful week, would definitely recommend and we will be back.

Thank you for taking the time to review our park. It's wonderful to hear you had a fantastic stay with us. We offer many luxurious pitches, but a select few of our fully serviced Deluxe pitches do provide the added privacy of hedges, which are extremely popular. While not all Deluxe pitches have this feature, guests are welcome to add a request onto their booking — just be quick, as they sell out fast! Our café is certainly a hit, offering an array of cakes, sausage rolls, pasties, and more. Bacon and egg baps are currently available on Saturdays and Sundays, and we serve them every day during the peak season. Our visiting food vans offer a diverse selection of treats, from scrumptious pancakes, hearty Yorkshire pudding wraps to classic British fish and chips, exquisite stone-baked pizzas, and exceptional street food, loaded fries and authentic German bratwurst sausages. We've got all your cravings covered! You can find their arrival dates on our Facebook page and website. We await the return of you and your furry friends to our park for your next adventure! ^Victoria

We stayed for 5 nights at South Lytchett Manor and we have nothing bad to say about it. The staff were helpful, polite and attentive from the moment we arrived. The site is clean; the showers and facilities were always available and we never had to wait/queue to use them. The onsite cafe has delicious breads and pastries and proper barista coffee and hot chocolates. The shop, although small, has all the basic’s needed and isn’t overly priced like some. There’s a different food van on site every evening if you don’t feel like cooking, and an awesome breakfast van open every morning from 8.
The site is catered well for dog owners and our dog enjoyed being able to roam the ‘off lead’ field throughout our stay. There was also the option of the back ‘on lead’ field by the duck pond which is great for anxious/reactive dogs.
Our kids loved going up to the little park and the games field, and as we only had room for one bike in our van we hired a second bike for our daughter for £12 a day. We barely saw the kids whilst we were on site as they were free to roam and explore by themselves safely due to 5mph speed limit and a back pathway away from the roads.
Location was fantastic. We were 12 minutes from Poole, 8 minutes from Hamworthy beach with its own park and cafe. This is a dog friendly beach which was great for paddling and crabbing! We visited Swanage, wareham and Corfe whilst there, and went to knoll beach (also dog friendly and free to park if you’re a national trust member) and we love Creech farm tea room (lovely for little ones to see donkeys, goats, emu, cows and chickens). It’s free to go in and the cafe does fab food!
There’s a pub within walking distance, a bus stop right outside that takes you to swanage, Wareham, Poole etc for £2 per person. We didn’t use the buses but our neighbours did and said it was brilliant. We also didn’t get to visit Upton country park, but my aunt is a local and goes there often. It’s free to park and has a cafe, play area and beautiful grounds to roam with the family and the dogs.
We will definitely be back as 5 days wasn’t enough to fit in everything there is to do down there. This place is definitely deserving of the 5 stars it’s been awarded.
Happy holidays!

WOW! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback and kind comments about our park and team. As you can see from their work and service, our team absolutely love doing what they do, so it's always rewarding to share such positive feedback with them about their attentive and caring service. The freshly baked pastries and pasties are a hit, along with the cream cakes and highly-rated coffee (locally produced by Coffee Mongers) making it the perfect way to start the day or indulge in a bit of afternoon temptation. Providing a green space is important to us, whether it's for letting dogs off their leads for some much needed exercise, or for family and friends to gather for a game of rounders. The Manor field is the ideal spot for dogs who prefer a quieter walk on a lead. We offer a selection of bikes for hire in the park, adults and children alike; and it's wonderful to hear that your daughter had enjoyed exploring a bit of freedom within the parks safe and secure confines. It's lovely to read about your adventures; we are indeed situated in a superb location. Whether you're exploring by bike, car, bus, or on foot, you're always close to a fun-filled day out. We really are so thankful of your kind and detailed review. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! ^Victoria

After a relaxing mini break with my husband, I jumped to review this place as it’s what it genuinely deserves!
Firstly upon arrival we were greeted with the most lovely and welcoming people who were really helpful with what to do/places to go.
The park itself is just beautiful throughout, from driving in the gates to exploring the park with amazing and unique accommodations.
We stayed in a Romany Gypsy caravan and it was so cosy, cute, warm and peaceful - I loved it. The Glamping yurts looked so cool and I was definitely eyeing them up for a future visit.
The Romany caravan was also right opposite the toilet/shower facilities which again was a 10/10 the showers were hot, really powerful and clean - only down side to the shower was having to get out.. (because I enjoyed it so much)
We hired out bikes for a day and cycled to upton county park which was absolutely beautiful and not to far (for a non-rider like myself) well worth a visit. We also went down to St. Peter’s finger - pub which again was really welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere.
Thank you so much for the most perfect break away. we have visited a few campsites and this place is listed highly on top of the many lovely places we’ve also visited.

There are numerous walks form site which we do have directions for, but the loveliest walks are Upton Country Park, the route around the harbour into Poole (about five miles in all) and the Castleman Trailway which runs close to the site.
A short bus journey and you have the whole of the Jurassic Coast at your fingertips also!

Hi there! It is about a mile and a half to Upton Country Park which is the beginning of Holes Bay in the harbour, you can walk off road the entire way around into Poole Quay which is about 5miles to the centre. Most guests cycle the route or the bus is a quick 15min trip!
