We booked this hotel based on the 9.2 Tripadvisor review - lockdown has not been good to this hotel. We were initially the only guests but more guests came during our 5 night stay. The room was large enough and the bed comfy. Signs of damp on the exterior wall and old furnishings did not make you feel cosy. No storage space apart from a small hanging space and one drawer, we lived out of our suitcases. No space in the bathroom for washbags though the shower was powerful and hot - no extractor fan working and a notice on the door not to be left open as it may set off the smoke alarm! Breakfast was poor to the extent that the bacon was off on the first morning and smothered in grease. By the 5th morning things had improved. The bar was not manned as staff were in short supply due to the covid shut down - although the hotel had been open for key workers. The bathroom floor was never cleaned during our stay and the bed was only made 3 days after asking for this to be done. The owner / manager and his sister were lovely but the owner never wore a mask when serving breakfast - not good. For a hotel that is part of a chain of 5/6 hotels the standard was poor and therefore poor value.

Couldn’t fault the stay, rooms were lovely and clean, bed was very comfy and the gentleman that looked after us was faultless. So helpful in helping us find places to go... will certainly recommend and will be back when we return.

After a disastrous stay in another city we booked at the very last minute arriving at around 8.30pm. We were met by the most pleasant and helpful staff who couldn't do enough to make is feel at home(got us fresh milk and a takeaway menu!) The room was super clean and spacious and included toiletries and much more!(epic shower pressure). We would not hesitate to book again!

A small and surprisingly pleasant B&B. I would not really class this as a Hotel though. Staff was friendly, especially the lady serving breakfast. My room appeared to be clean although the shower cubicle was a bit small. WiFi worked and there was enough hot water. Problems that I encountered during my stay were that the TV signal was very poor (this only seemed to be happening at night and got worse and worse, and almost no signal on the second night and was too late in the night for me to go to reception to report it, so I just ended up switching it off the second night!), the tap in the shower for temperature control was very stiff and difficult to control. Although noises from the main road could be heard - this was not a problem for me because of the location of the B&B, there was noise from guest next door who appeared to be playing loud music until almost midnight. Breakfast was basic and poached eggs were not cooked properly but generally OK. Otherwise no issues.

We were central visiting Leeds for a couple of days and needed a place to stay. Normally we book central city hotels but their prices were inflated for some reason (probably something going on in Leeds) and so it made sense to stay outside and use a taxi to get into Leeds. We had three double rooms with breakfast, each for £40 less than we would have paid in Leeds. The rooms were excellent and we were allowed in early as they were ready, so we could dump our bags. The breakfast was also great as were all the staff. We'll definitely consider this hotel in future.
