Instead of the usual Sunday Lunch, when we met up with some friends, we decided an Afternoon Tea would make a nice change, particularly as we had tried their Afternoon Tea a number of times over the years. It was very nice but not quite as good as previous visits. The scones were a bit doughy and didn’t have much flavour and there was a bit of a mixup with the drinks when they arrived. Not that much of a problem and probably not helped by us all having ordered something different. Having said that, we were looked after very well by Evie and Ella. They were polite, friendly, and attentive but not intrusive They checked a number of times to see if everything was ok and if was there anything else we needed. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and not icy cold as if they had just come out of the fridge, like you sometimes get. Several pots of tea later we left feeling very full and with doggy bags in hand with the cakes we couldn’t manage.

We really enjoyed the afternoon tea experience at Moor Hall’s Oak Room Restaurant. We were served by Evie who’s very kind to us. She patiently explained the different options of teas available, and assured us that our halal dietary request was in order. As it was our wedding anniversary, she kindly served us complimentary cholocates — really made the moment so memorable.

For £29 per person, the afternoon tea package is really value for money.

After savouring the delights, we took a stroll to the Sunken Garden. Absolutely beautiful!

Many thanks Gilang for taking the time to leave your great comments, and for our 5 star rating. We are delighted you enjoyed your Afternoon Tea dining experience and so pleased that you were looked after so well by Evie. She is over the moon by your kind words. It is wonderful that you found the Afternoon Tea package value for money, and that you found time to explore our beautiful sunken garden and woodlands. We do hope we have the pleasure in welcoming you back again soon, where you can be assured of our best attention.

The hot tub in the room is brilliant, loved it. Everything else was a bit disappointing. The heating in the room was on constantly with no way to turn it off and it wasn't
a particularly cold night. We had to sleep with the windows wide open. The bed was reasonably comfortable but surprisingly low. Dinner in the Oak Room was ok, the pie and mash was delicious but I have to say the broccoli amounted to little more than a garnish and the gravy was a bit watery. The Country Kitchen room is surprisingly small and cramped. People were turning up for breakfast and being asked to wait outside because there were no free tables. I had a cooked breakfast, which was a bit underwhelming. Disappointingly there were no sausages, the fried eggs were solid and the scrambled egg was overcooked and bland. However the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns were very good. All in all our stay was ok but I don't think we got value for money, it's not cheap.

Thank you for providing your feedback. All rooms do have the option of turning the radiator off or on. I am sorry you could not do this, and that it was on when you felt the temperature outside was warm. A quick call to our Reception team and someone would have happily assisted you. We do have a suitable breakfast room, however, there can be occasions when many guests arrive at the same time, meaning we do have to ask guests to wait a brief time whilst a table is prepared. Sausages are always available during breakfast time. We do feel that our packages do offer value for money.

On the 13 th of June moor hall made our wedding so special. Our grateful thanks go to Lorraine and Tom who helped organise our special day, also Billy who filmed our event so my dad who could not attend could see the ceremony as it was happening. Everyone was so wonderful. House keeping, kitchen staff , waiters and waitresses who worked so hard making sure we had the perfect day. We highly recommend Moor Hall for special events, afternoon teas, evening meals and spar days. A wonder team of amazing people.

Stayed over bank holiday as a getaway for myself and hubby as a quick break from the kids. Good points first; Most of the staff were friendly and helpful especially those in the Country Kitchen even though there was issues with the food. The grounds are lovely and well worth a walk and the hotel was quiet. Our room whilst spacious was dated with stains on the carpets, lamps not working and the bathroom was in need of an update with a leaking shower head, mould around the bath seal and the paintwork and bathroom scuffed The major let down was the standard of the food in the Country Kitchen. We were booked in for an 8:10pm sitting and the food which was on offer was poor. I was offered a small bread roll with my soup and when my husband pointed out that the roll was half the size of his we were offered another but this additional roll never appeared. Originally we were told that there was a choice of turkey and pork only to find, once the chef actually bothered to turned up to carve the meat, that gammon and turkey was on offer along with duck. The choice of vegetables were extremely poor, the peas were rock hard, there was only a spoon of carrots left between the both of us, no cauliflower cheese only dry cabbage. It was very obvious that the vegetables had been kept warm for so long that they were dry. Our choice of pudding was either one squashed vanilla cheesecake or a dry piece of chocolate cake. To say we were disappointed with our evening meal would be true. Our breakfast in the Country kitchen didn’t fair much better. We had to wait 5 minutes for clean plates. My husband’s fried eggs were either hard and rubbery or undercooked so much that the white was running over the plate. My scrambled eggs were hard, obviously having been kept under the heat lamps for so long, the chef did make me fresh scrambled eggs but again these were under cooked. The rest of the breakfast items were dry and rather unappetising. The Country kitchen staff on duty during both our evening meal and breakfast, did apologise and say that they had been rather busy with it being bank holiday weekend but this hardly makes up for the very dismal food. On the good side check out was simple and quick.

Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves on offering great quality food and an enjoyable dining experience, and disappointed to learn of your feedback. We have dealt with the issue regarding the bread rolls, and sorry that you were advised of the incorrect meats on offer for that day. All the food is replenished regularly and I am sorry this had not been done prior to your visit to the carvery station.

A lovely afternoon tea with my Mum in the gorgeous setting of Moor Hall in Four Oaks. We were seated in a lovely cosy room with velvety upholstery & wood paneling. There was a nice range of tea's of unlimited quantity, four soft sandwiches each with differing fillings, two scones (one fruit, one plain) each with strawberry jam & clotted cream and finished off with a selection of four lovely desserts each, all at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable and welcome. I would definitely visit again!

I booked a company festive evening with Casino Royale theme for around 32 people including accommodation. The staff were friendly and rooms cleanest and spacious. A little old but added to the character. Bar area for read and coffees was ideal when people were arriving. We booked a meal in the hotel for the night before with a smaller group of 14. Food was great standard and service was fabulous.
The Casino Royale night the following night was really well organised. I had booked a private room with a bar for a champagne reception which was ideal. Food, service and entertainment on the themed night was simply brilliant. Nothing was a problem for the staff and they really made our night special. Breakfast in both days was incredible with the staff being super attentive. Would highly recommend the hotel

On arrival after a 2.5 hour drive purposely to stay here, the grounds are lovely the building is stunning. The room itself was extremely cold so I quickly closed the windows. I paid £360 for the hot tub room which other than being cold was beautiful, it was big and the complimentary refreshments were a lovely touch. We decided to order room service which arrived stone cold and the burger was awfully greesy, so we ended up jumping into the car and heading for a Takeaway. The location of the hotel is 25 minute drive to Birmingham city centre so we went shopping for a few hours. We both had a very bad night sleep the pillows definitely need changing I also woke with back ache. Weather that be from the mattress or cold temperature I’m unsure, we did manage to put the radiator on but it didn’t heat up the room. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return nor recommend.

Thank you for your review, although we are disappointed you rated us only 2 stars. It is common practice for Housekeeping to air rooms by opening the windows, although at this time of year they should have been closed after completion, and we are sorry the room was cold for your arrival. I am delighted you enjoyed your room and will ensure we review the pillows. I am most disappointed to learn of your room service experience - I do hope you alerted us to these issues immediately so we could rectify and resolve to your satisfaction.

We stayed at Moor Hall to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday. We were on the Twilight Spa Break and booked afternoon tea as an extra. Firstly, the afternoon tea was delicious and was served by a really lovely waitress who looked after us well. They even did a special Happy Birthday plate for my friend. The room was spacious for the 3 of us, clean and tidy. The spa was very warm and relaxing with the lights. Again, my friend recieved a special voucher for her birthday, which was really nice and unexpected. A 25 minute facial was included, which was very relaxing but none of us felt like we had the complete 25 minutes. The spa break also included pizza, which again was delicious. Breakfast in the morning was also great. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would definitely return.

We stayed for one night using a love for two voucher for our anniversary which we paid £175 for to include dinner, stay, breakfast, chocolates in the room and a balloon. We were extremely disappointed that the main course was limited using the set menu which was £54. It was a £12 pp extra supplement for a steak dinner which I think is too high and we were charged £7 extra for two j2os and £8 for two steak sauces. I didn't see the sauce supplement on the menu at all. I don't know why these were an extra charge because £4 for a tiny bit of sauce is ridiculous in my opinion and just not worth it. To pay so much for a voucher and then be stung £39 extra at check out made our dinner total £93 for two steak dinners two little creme brulees and two j2os - much too much in my opinion and better off eating somewhere else.

I am sorry you were disappointed with your package and our prices. We do price accordingly and regularly undertake competitor analysis to ensure that we price accordingly. It is common for a steak to carry a supplement on a set menu. It is a shame you do not wish to dine with us again.
