We visited for the bottomless brunch and we were very disappointed. The food menu is limited and although the nachos for starter were good, pouring cheese was used on them instead of melting actual cheese and this was a shame. The same cheese was even used on the burger! The full English breakfast was average. Drinks are restricted by the slowest person at the table ie they won’t take another drinks order until everybody has finished: this was fine for our table but is unusual compared to other brunches in the city. Staff had masks on which was great but nobody challenged guests who didn’t wear masks when moving away from their tables. Overall for the price, there are much better options in the city centre and because the food was so basic, we didn’t feel we got good value for money. Sadly we won’t be back.

We used to visit before it was done out every week, we visited the hotel for the first time for drinks on a Saturday after noon a few weeks ago, in the wake of the pandemic the lady on reception took our temperature and asked us for details which was great, but she seemed in a rush to do it, don’t know if she was stressed or if she just wanted it over and done with and us out of her sight. Asked her where to go? “Down there” pointing down some steps. Lucky we used to visit all the time so had a rough idea. The lady on the bar was real nice, but we could literally see the sweat pouring off her, she was being over worked, at one point She disappeared to go to the toilet I’m guessing she couldn’t handle waiting on her own anymore. The drinks started from when we were served our first one for 2 hours. Food was average but you get what you pay for, 2 courses and 5/6 drinks for £25. Not a bad price. As soon as it hit 6pm it’s like the whole atmosphere changed. The whole place went dark and new staff were on, totally unreasonable. We had been for a cigarette, come back to our table to be told brunch was over and our drinks were gone. This young girl looked no older than 18 with false eyelashes, I mean is she really in charge? Her attitude stinks. But whatever, anyway, we didn’t say anything and decided to head outside to sit on a table, we get there’s no mixing etc and we found no problem with this personally however we did the same young girl, with another lady with dark hair standing at the doors to the garden to make sure no one was mixing, talking and laughing while smoking cigarettes, and basically letting everyone know they had power. Fair enough if they were working on the bar in the garden or collecting glasses or something (because there was smashed glass everywhere) but they were just literally standing watching and intimidating everyone, I mean isn’t that what the security guards are for? The guards were totally unimpressed in them being there too. The garden bar was busy, I was waiting a long time to be served and the women in charge were just watching. It was very unprofessional are they being paid to stand around and stare or to make the experience enjoyable? As I said it wasn’t targeted at us personally, but the bigger groups of males. I can see why people don’t end up coming back. Such a shame because the staff there used to be so lovely, you were never waiting longer than 10 minutes even on the busiest nights and the same staff were there to great you and make you welcome, every week for years. what happened? the only face we recognise now is the young girl with the false lashes who’s still as miserable as ever since she’s been promoted from door girl to garden security. We ended up leaving and being in bed for 10.30

My first visit with my daughter for breakfast 10 days ago was a really pleasant experience, albeit the chef was late which delayed our breakfast, but was redeemed by very enjoyable food and free drinks because of the delay. This encouraged me to return with my Dad this Monday, second visit. The service was very slow but the main problem was the food was dreadful. I ordered this same breakfast as my previous visit (avocado and scrambled egg on toast). Just a scrapping of avocado and literally a table spoon of egg and it was luke warm. No excuse really as we were the only people dining. My dads omlette was not much better. It was as though we were eating in a difference place from my previous visit. Such a shame as it is beautifully done out and pleasant inside but the last experience does not encourage me to go back.

Hello, Thank you for giving us a second visit, it's very disappointing to hear that the second meal wasn't up to par -something I can only apologise for. Your review hasn't mentioned if, for the second visit, any recompense was given for the food - we'd love the opportunity to make this up to you if you can drop us an email we can look to sort this out. With kind regards, Vicky

Booked a family room for myself and two young children.
This is NOT a hotel.
It is a nightclub!
The music (and extremely loud bass) went on until 3am followed by people running round the corridors screaming and laughing.
It’s completely unsuitable for families, or for anyone who is not attending the nightclub.
We aren’t just talking about a slight noise in the room. We are talking LOUD bass, pumping through the thin floorboards directly into your bedroom until 3am!!
My children were literally crying in their beds as they couldn’t sleep.
I have stayed all over the world, never have I had such a noisy room. It should not be allowed to sell a room on a website without informing you that it is above a club and will be subject to extreme noise until 3am.
A disgrace.!!!

Visited with 4 friends for the bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Have to say we were impressed. Staff are totally on top of the coronavirus measures on entrance. The only place I’ve eaten and drank in where they have taken our temperature on arrival showing that they are taking things seriously. Short wait for our table to be ready. Bottomless drinks 2 hours started when the first drinks arrived . Good selection of drinks included and we had 5 or 6 in the 2 hours which was great great. Food was tasty and enjoyable. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The good. My facemask broke, I got one 4 for free. The shower is hot & powerful (don't look at mould on shower head), mattress is comfortable.
Bad: Receptionist did not inform me of checkout time, nor give a wifi code, or receipt. Only forthcoming after I asked & other guests were served in the meantime.
When you book you are told about noise until 3am. They are NOT joking! This was booked by someone else so I was unaware. It is incredibly loud! Screeching, bass, banging on walls: The nightclub is at the foot of your bed. It closes at 3am but the noise of 'guests' leaving continues to 3.45am. Even earplugs won't help.
Windows are single pane and no ventilation. The windows do not open, nor could we turn off the heater. There is a ridiculous amount of condensation so lots of furry mould on the windowpanes. Disgusting and a health hazard. The bathroom window opened, but conversely didn’t lock when shut and there was a fire-escape, flat roof, and chair next to this window, therefore the room is NOT secure. The handle to the door is wobbly, the carpet was filthy with onion skin on it (who takes onion into a hotel room?)
We fell asleep at 4am, rudely woken at 10am by the cleaner letting themselves into the room. There was no knock on the door beforehand and they said that they hadn't been provided with a list of which guests were in the rooms or checked out.
I have travelled a lot; this is easily the worst place I have ever stayed! Made my unhappiness known as I checked out.

Before I start I would like to say there was a lovely lady that worked at reception (Andreea I believe) who set the room up for our anniversary out of her own pocket, this was the highlight of our stay and we’re very grateful for her generosity. Our overall experience was very disappointing, especially considering we were celebrating our anniversary. To start the first room (116) we were given had stains in the bath, a loose toilet seat, dead flies and a terrible breeze from the windows. We raised awareness of the lack of internet to reception and we still received no working internet for the two nights we stayed. We then got swapped to a different room for the night (202), on first glance this room looked promising, however we first noticed that the window was being held open by a wooden plank, we shut this and discovered that the protection window did not shut fully, the floor was not vacuumed, there were dead leaves and wasps on the floor and windowsill. The shower leaked terribly and flooded the whole floor, the floor remained wet the whole night. In the morning we woke up to find an alive hornet behind the blind above our bed, I have a huge fear of wasps/bees, this was terrifying to say the least. Radiators in all rooms would not work to heat up the rooms. Then we come to last night, we had just got back from a wedding and was looking forward to a good rest to finish off our anniversary. However the room we got put into (117) was horrific. The room itself looked nice minus a few bits of dirt and stains in the bathroom, towels and bedding, however straight away I could hear the music from downstairs. We was aware of the situation of the music as stated on the website, however this was ridiculous, the music was loud but the vibrations were terrible, the whole room was shaking, the radiator and windows were shaking it was that bad, even in the bathroom the toilet seat would move. This room should’ve been unsellable, it was terrible, we paid for a room where we got no sleep, last night was our anniversary night. I went down to reception to see if there was anything they could do, I was told there was nothing I could do, and they couldn’t find any ear plugs for us. I went back to the room and cried, I was so disappointed as I wanted this to be a nice experience for us as we’re not able to go on a break for a while due to busy schedules. The whole experience has been terrible and traumatic, not only did I have a disappointing anniversary, I also had to pay for two nights of unsatisfactory accommodation and one night of complete sleeplessness. If there was a way i could’ve gotten out of sleeping there last night and not paid I would have, it was so disappointing. Once I’d left the hotel I messaged the hotel to inform them of my concerns, I received a completely unprofessional response from the manager (Paoula) stating that I was rude because I didn’t say thank you for the special requests (I made it very clear that I was grateful),she then proceeded to ignore all of the above and say that she receives good reviews and that’s that. I’m completely repulsed by the response given, considering just a couple of hours ago I was a paying customer, at no point was I rude to staff and feel the response I was given was completely unprofessional.

Staff were SO rude, no smiles or welcome, plain rude especially the brunette woman with false lashes on the door. The rule is if you’re over 21s you are allowed to stay after half 9. I’d be happy leaving if other people under 21 got kicked out with us, but seems like the staff pin pointed us out from the beginning. When we tried to explain that other people were our age too the woman shouted in our faces&was getting angry for no reason and even threatened to ban us. We were respectful people and taking into consideration the corona virus measures but we feel like we didn’t receive the same respect back. I get it’s hard and there’s lots of people but a bit of fairness and politeness please. It was disgraceful the way she acted.

And on top of all of that we ordered food and it took 40-45 mins to arrive, didn’t even rate it for the price. Completely over priced!!

Hello, I am sorry to hear you didn't have the best experience recently, the long wait for food isn't something we want for our guests. In regards to the policy, we do enforce an over 21's at the weekend and this, along with our other rules in regards to COVID is vital they are adhered to. I apologise if you found the way this was conveyed to you as heavy-handed or rude but we are working hard to keep everyone safe so we hope you can understand the need to be strict. This hotel is clearly aimed for the drunks to stay at, it's like I imagine a student digs to be.

The rooms are cold, they have one undersized panel radiator in the room that are in locked mode so you are unable to adjust without asking reception. The problem is, we tried contacting reception and no one was there, they don't have a night porter so any problems, you can call them but no one will answer the phone.

No wardrobes, one coat hangar, no blackout blinds or lined curtains so you will be woken by the light early. Old wobbly chairs, frosted windows so you can't even see outside.

The room was cold all night, the duvets are cheap and thin and didn't do the job. The rooms are very sparse and basic. Everything is low budget and basic. Smacks of low budget but the prices for room only are far from budget price.

The shower temperature wouldn't hold steady, so you were too hot one minute and cold the next and water pressure low. The toilet hadn't seen any bleach in years by the look of it as you can see by the photo.

The rooms are just very low standard compared to many places. Things I expect when I stay in a hotel are 1) a good powerful shower 2) a comfortable bed 3) a warm room and 4) a clean room. This hotel had none of these. You would be better off staying in a Travelodge, at least a Travelodge has a good shower, comfy bed and is clean and will be cheaper than this hotel.

Loads of stairs to climb for any of the rooms so no good if you have any kind of mobility problem. The key card system to enter the rooms from reception area is extremely temperamental and needs to be upgraded or fixed. You can be 5 minutes trying to open the door.

No chef on so no food offering.

No point in discussing any of this with the hotel as they have clearly set their stall out and are sticking by it , regardless of the fact there are endless poor reviews on here all saying the same things. It's not rated 10th out of 10 hotels in Sutton Coldfield for no reason!

This place is awful, I would advise anyone to avoid and book somewhere else. You will be extremely disappointed if you stay here!

Came here to eat, called in advance to reserve a table to eat at 7pm. 3 adults (one pregnant) and one child.

We were told when ordering at the bar, that there was a 45 minute wait for food, which was strange as there were no more than 15 people in the restaurant. We were waiting for over an hour and a half to be served starters. We waited another half an hour for them to bring out burnt, tasteless food.

Food was bland, even though we were all starving and would have happily eaten something out a bin at that point!!

Bar staff miserable / gormless looking woman stomping around, I don’t know if she was fed up of other staff in the kitchen or that was just her personality but she shouldn’t be front of house with that attitude. The only other table in the restaurant was asking how much longer they’d have to wait as they’d also been waiting over an hour and a half, and she was huffing and puffing like they were the problem and slamming cutlery on the table and marching off to stand behind the bar. There was no apology when the food came out late or as we left.

Don’t bother going to eat here unless you’re on a diet and want to starve.

Reckon they have better service in prison.
