Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A basic hotel to rest your head 2nd time staying here when visiting my sister and Nephews in the area. Stayed in a Family Room with my Dad and Brother it was big enough for one night I decided not to order the breakfast box this time as I would rather get a cooked breakfast from Toby Carvery next door. If you expecting luxury and a fitness centre and restaurant then this isnt the hotel for you but the beds were soft and comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful I stay here everytime I visit my Sister as its in a great location for me. I don't feel it needs a restaurant with Toby Carvery across the car park and a nice chippy and convience store round the corner

Booked for one night and the room was brilliant. Clean and tidy, well maintained and with friendly staff. The check in and check out times are very convenient and even wifi was free for first half hour and then £3 for a day after that. Shower gel/ shampoo provided. Could have done with a little more milk for the tea and coffee though.

Extremely helpful staff member. An older property, so a bit 'tired' in places. It is not one of the buildings built for Travelodge, so doesn't have the corporate feel, but is nevertheless pleasant. The Toby Carvery does well priced breakfasts if you don't want just a breakfast box and is across the car park.

I booked 4 rooms for our family which were excellent value for the money.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Chrissie on reception who said our rooms were very close together which was helpful and thoughtful as we were attending a family funeral.

There is ample parking and a Toby carvery pub/restaurant which is also excellent value for money, we had an evening meal and breakfast at the carvery.

Older hotel with original features. Showers not baths. Two floors, rooms off central corridors (a loud door or two), either facing the front car park and road, or rear carpark and houses. On a main road, with a huge woodland park across from it. Car park would benefit from foliage pruning and leaf litter clearing. Good access to major routes.

Firstly I should preface my comments by saying that I stay regularly in Travelodge hotels and I have previously been satisfied with the quality of my stay . I have stayed at this hotel once before on 26th May 2022 and it is at the lower end quality wise. I therefore had low expectations but unfortunately these proved to be over optimistic. The hotel suffers from the rooms being located in two separate blocks either side of a Toby inn. Although I checked in late in the evening (around 11.20pm) I was made to wait several minutes after phoning the number located on the reception desk even though the member of staff who answered the phone stated he was on his way to meet me.
I was allocated room 107 in the block which is around 100 yards away from reception . The room is designed to accommodate clients in wheelchairs. The quality and amenities of the room were below standard in the following ways:- a) No remote control was provided for the TV . b) The electric panel heater in the bedroom was covered with unsightly brown staining. d)The skirting boards were dirty. d) There were two areas of wall tiling in the bathroom which had unsightly black staining in the grout joints. e) There were scuffs two numerous to count indicating that the room is well overdue for redecoration. f) There were several dirty marks on the net curtains to the bedroom which indicated they hadnt been washed for some time.
The worst aspect however was that the fire lobby door adjacent to entrance door to room 107. The overhead door closer works but the door is so ill fitting that it didnt close fully and made a loud noise ss it hit the door frame. Not only is this a safety hazard but the 'banging' noise it makes every time someone goes through the door is sufficient to wake the occupants of the neighbouring rooms.

Amazing customer service, friendly and very chatty . Iluaha was really helpful to tell us about the nice park near the hotel, Toby Carvery was really great and rooms were really clean. Covid precautions are also great and hand sanitisers are everywhere in the hotel, free car park we couldn’t ask for more. Will come back

Is a nice small simple hotel, the family room very spacious and comfortable, staff helpful and answered all our requests. There is provided extra tea and coffee, fresh towels, the only issue was that we were far away from reception in different building but we called reception and very attendive. Nothing is to much for them. Housekeeping team Reyna, Victoria, very very helpful, and very friendly. Juleida on reception was also attendive she brought us straight away extra tea, milk and fresh towels. We have stayed here 7 days and we did enjoy.

The staff are friendly and helpful. We needed to find somewhere local to us for a place to stay for a few days. A downside is you have to book online and not at reception with staff person who us stood in front of you. Our room is clean and the bed is comfortable, though it could donwith an update. Guests are able to pop a card on the door requesting clean towels, bin emtied and refresh tea/coffee. We are at the rear of the hotel and have had no issues with noise. There is a carvery on site which offers the facility to book a table. Overall it has been good value for us and we were able to extend our stay as we needed.

This was our third/fourth stay at this Travelodge and this time we had a twin room in the reception block. The room was clean, and the beds were of a quality that both my wife and I had a very good nights sleep. The en-suite had a shower cubicle which was adequate for an average size person and all the other usual facilities you associate with an en-suite also functioned very well. We spent two very pleasant nights at this Travelodge, with very pleasant and helpful staff (special thanks to Christine) and would not hesitate to book in the future when we again hope to visit friends who live at a near location.
