On the arrival at The Woodthorpe you will be welcomed by Amanda, who I must stress will come across in a very militant manner, but we was prepared for this as I had checked out reviews upon arrival, she likes to tell you the do's and dont's before taking you to your room and I imagine this is a well rehearsed regular rictual...

We have just spent four lovely relaxing days at the Woodthorpe. Both myself and my hubby were made to feel most welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Amanda, especially her great brekkies with lots of choice and cooked to perfection. The rooms were absolutely spotless, comfy four poster bed. I will certainly highly recommend this guest house to...

Made a mistake with our booking online, despite reading reviews of people who had stayed there with children, me and my son shunned away on the doorstep by the frankly rude owner after paying for our room in advance with my son crying the door was shut in our face.No offer of partial refund only agreed to refund breakfast cost...

We had a very comfortable couple of nights at the Woodthorpe b&b. The sea view room was lovely and immaculate. Amanda the landlady is nothing like the "Moody" person portrayed in some reviews, efficient - yes, very busy - yes and approachable. We were met with smiles and a welcome. So, yes I do recommend it.

Stayed at the Woodthorpe last weekend. The building is a nice old place with a decent layout. The only niggles we were we felt the lady who owned the place was a little 'over the top' about the do's and don't's- how to lock the door ( repeated about 3 times)- felt rather unwelcoming and patronising which isn't a great...

Me and my partner stayed for one night in August- when we arrived (which didn't take long from the clock tower, very good location) we was stood ringing the door bell(s) for around 10 minutes, there was a dog running up and down the stairs barking, we wasn't warned in advance that there was a dog that lived at the...

The guest house is basic, clean and situated very near to the amenities and sea front. Amanda, the owner was friendly and welcoming. We were free to come and go as we wished. We didn't have breakfast but the dining room looked very nice. There is free parking at the rear of the property too.
