Felt that this was very badly organised, no one came to tell us where our table was, no one made sure we had everything, we had to go ask ourselves. And waiting for the joke of a buffet OMG, some tables had eaten before we...More

I stayed here this week on business. The reception staff were very surly. Like they were doing you a favour. The room allocated was a family room and as such wasn't a bad size. Unfortunately there is no air con and it was impossible to...More

The hotel is say o.75 of a mile South of the Town Centre. If you turn left out of the hotel and follow Moorgate Road into the Town Centre the road splits 3 ways outside the Town Hall. Hard right past end of Town Hall is a Wetherspoon's - The Bluecoat. Facing you is the High House. Down the right-hand side of High House and Britannia Inns pub is then on left. Apart from Bluecoat, if keep to left of the High House (on Ship Hill) and turn left at traffic lights (on to Westgate) past Neelagiree (excellent Asian restaurant) there are two good real ale pubs - Cutlers Arms on right - that often has music on (it's beside open air car park). Further along, on left, is New York Tavern.
The clubs are all around the Ship Hill and Westgate junction.
