A spur of the moment decision that paid off. The hotel was just out of Rotherham but it was an easy walk into the town. There is a good sized car park. The room was on the small side but there was plenty of storage space tea and coffee is topped up daily and liquid soap provided. There is a small spa area with a Jacuzzi although there were problems with this as it was quite cold. A sauna and a medium-sized pool plus several treadmills. All the staff were helpful and Lindsey on reception always spoke as we walked passed checking that we were ok and didn't need help with anything. Breakfast buffet was a bit squashed but the hotel was fully booked, there was plenty of variety and all items were quickly replaced when running low. In the bar there were several tv's showing football matches and on Sunday evening there was a really good live singer Georgie who sang the right kind of songs for her audience. This was a lovely weekend away and the hotel had a few different things that just made it even better

We travelled from Dorset, through storm Dennis, for a family funeral and booked a one night stay. First impressions were very good, a smart well appointed clean hotel. Very nice reception area and bar and the bedrooms were lovely. The first disappointment had been being told, when booking in, that the pool was closed for “maintenance”. We were also unable to access the advertised satellite channels on the tv or to call room to room on the phone. The one major highlight of our stay was our evening meal in the bar area, the food was absolutely excellent! However we were extremely surprised and disappointed to find that the bar pulled the shutters down before 11pm without any warning or shouting of last orders.. and being asked to leave the bar area ASAP! We were told we could take our drinks out into the reception area and if we required more drinks we were to ring a call bell at reception and the Night Porter would serve us.. I will just say that this arrangement was TOTALLY unsatisfactory and provided a very disappointing end to what had been a very long and emotional day. Maybe it was just a bad day but my impression was of staff shortages. It’s a lovely hotel and with a few improvements I’d probably be calling it excellent!

Well what a nightmare.
Booked this place thinking it was a bit better than budget what a mistake. We ordered dinner, fish & chips for me, fish was none existent in a thick soggy batter no doubt thick to make up for lack of fish. The chips were 3/4 inch all round and solid as they were raw.
Daughter ordered "hand made" pizza. This had virtually no topping whatsoever and was as smooth as glass on the bottom where it had been cooked in the microwave, oven cooked pizza is not glass smooth on the bottom.
There was 3 functions in the place that night so maybe we were bottom of the pecking order.
A lot of these people must have been staying over because it was door after door banging until 1am. Grandaughter got no sleep whatsoever which ruined the planned next day out due to tiredness.
Next morning arose to go get breakfast. Now this was the lowest of the low. There was a crowd of people barefooted in their nightware in the dining hall at a buffet breakfast. The females obviously unwashed as all stale make up was still in place.
Now I am no prude but that is just not acceptable even in the cheapest of budget hotels.
We were told by members of staff they had raised their concerns with management to no avail. Now you can`t make people get a wash before entering a dining area but you can make sure they are suitably attired or entry is not permitted. Maybe the management would like to comment on here why they cannot make it known to guests that this is not acceptable?

Came to stay for 2 nights with my girlfriend as a valentine gift, Arrived on the Friday and checked in.Upon checking in the reception staff mentioned of a ECO friendly suggestion mentioning that if we chose not to use the maid service then as a thank you we will give a free drink, so we chose to have a lovely relaxing weekend without being disturbed so we chose the free drink instead of the maid service.
When we got to our room it looked lovely. After the friday evening and early hours of Saturday we eventually got some sleep from some quite loud noises from next door ( Cant Think was they was doing ) lol.. We eventually got to the saturday morning then straight away we noticed the sound of construiction being done and drilling and banging was so loud. So we thought it wouldn't last long went down for a swim and a spa then when we got back to our room 1 hour later the building noise was even louder than before. We notified reception who apologised and i mentioned how long the noise was going to carry on for and her reply was until 5pm, of which this time was 1pm that meant all day saturday.
I couldnt believe that they situated our room directly over a construction programme of which we had no prior warning about. it was that noisy to point we couldn’t hear the television, Reception did offer to see if their was any additional rooms we could move to but then we found out their were no other rooms availalble.
The staff did apologise upon checking out but clearly didn’t mean it after reading other reviews very similar to this.
The following evening upon going to the bar we presented our voucher for the free drink as stipulated but to our surprise they didn't give us a free drink each but only as one drink only,, between the two of us.. Ha Ha Ha... so i said jokingly shall i get two straws then.... so dont fall for that scam and if they offer the same service then choose the maid service for making your beds and refreshing your tea and coffee and the fresh towels instead.
Go to this hotel if you want to completely waste your weekend and come home with a banging headache.

I booked this hotel in November 2019 for a couple of nights with my husband, and again in March 2020 for a night with my sister, both through Wowcher at £49 a night including breakfast. On both occasions we had a lovely relaxing time. The hotel is on a nice road with views of the college field out of the back window. The rooms are clean, a good size and nicely decorated with comfy beds and plenty of hot water. Rooms were warm, tea and coffee facilities in the room. The hotel is 15 minutes drive from Meadowhall, which we visited on are first stay, and was one of the reasons why I returned with my sister! The spa facilities are an added bonus, I didn't go in the pool but I very much enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. I had a meal in the restaurant with my husband on our stay and the food was delicious, on my second stay, we visited the pub next door for an evening meal which was also tasty, cheap and cheerful. overall I would recommend this hotel especially at the bargain Wowcher price of £49 a night!

We booked here again for a night away as last stay was great. Quick check-in, room clean and tidy and all in order. We went to use the spa full of young boys jumping in/out of water with no respect for other users. Once they vacated the water, we could enjoy the facilities.
Back to our room early evening the pipes of the radiators sounded like a kettle on constant boil mode, even though the radiator was off. This stopped at 11ish but started again just after 6am, not great hope this is sorted with the refurb that is happening
We had the young boys running up and down the corridors, knocking on doors this continued until 1220pm even knocking on our door, no chance of getting to sleep at all.
Breakfast good but at 8.00am no pastries or muffins left and limited fresh fruit, however cooked breakfast very good.
All the staff we encountered we lovely, polite and helpful, just a shame about the guests on this stay.
We will return hopefully when the refurb is completed.

Dear Tracey G, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am saddened to read that some of the guests were disrespectful during your stay with us. Our management team operates 24 hours a day in the hotel and would have been more than happy to speak to these people to ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay. I am delighted that our team members were lovely, polite & helpful, we have a great team. The first phase of 5 bedrooms is nearly complete and is looking great. We hope to see you again soon. Great Hotel and absolute bargain! Got a 3 bed family room for the price of a double and the room was lovely very clean and huge. The beds very comfortable and brand new as was all the bedding and pillows lots of storage and wardrobe space a nice big Tv on wall and plenty of Tea coffee milk and biscuits with the kettle. Bathroom again spotless clean plenty of shower gel and soaps etc and nice good quality clean white towels. The only issue for me is lack of food and drink as the bar/restaurant is closed as the owners are just trying to reestablish this place after being closed a while, it’s not really a big problem though as there is a great pub and restaurant next door at the Brentwood that is less than a 2 minute walk. If like us you just want a clean comfortable Room to sleep in and don’t need the other facilities then this place can’t be matched on price or room size and the staff are also very helpful and polite.
We will definitely go again.

I believe they've changed ownership since our stay, and I've seen various things on their Facebook page, not good.. Me personally I'd jump in the car and go down there and have it out with them face to face as I believe they owe allot of people money for wedding booking etc etc.im sorry for your troubles if you're one of these...
