Stayed here on our way to Leeds. It’s very basic, but that’s what we paid for!

One thing I did find strange was the message left in the room saying that “Phones are so 1980s - WhatsApp is instead!” Was a bit try hard. Also our WhatsApp request for an iron was never answered or seen. (We noticed later that the hotel’s communal iron was actually in a cupboard next to the lift on the first floor by the lift).

The do not disturb door hanger was also a little bit “try hard”.

The one staff we dealt with at check in was nice enough- helped to make sure we put 2 days on the car park computer as 1 day would have ended at midnight and we’d get charged!

The reception staff were so lovely and genuinely seemed to care about their guests, asking questions and being so friendly.

The room was only £30 for the night, but could have been a bit cleaner (marks on mirrors and surfaces, cobwebs and dust on the main plug sockets, really grimey remote control). I think we’re all more paranoid these days, but this is primarily why I can only give three stars.

My main issue was how not soundproof the walls are when a neighbour decides to be fairly loud at 1am… I didn’t ask to be moved, but really wish I’d have brought some ear plugs! You hear every television, every shower, every toilet flush. A friend stayed in a separate room on the opposite side and she said all she could hear was cars on the nearby motorways.

The last time we stayed here was over eight years ago, so was surprised how nice the reception area was and how much better the restaurant looked. Still basic tables and chairs, but brighter.

We checked in and as we booked two nights, but one direct with the hotel and the other with Booking.com it caused a bit of a problem. The receptionist soon sorted us with a room for the two nights and put us on floor three. Saturday night at 9.45 a call came through on the mobile asking when we would be checking in. We told her that we were already checked in, but she asked if we could go down to reception to pay. My husband did and told her he expected to pay on leaving the next day, as he hadn’t heard from the girl who checked us in. She made him feel as though he was going to do a runner and was a bit abrupt, not as friendly as the one who checked us in.

Our room was clean, bathroom clean, but it did have a faint smell from the sink. We think this must be one of the refurbished rooms, after reading comments on how some are. It can be a bit noisy with the window open and we did have guest on our floor talking outside in the corridor for a bit.

Breakfast was continental or hot, the croissants were hard and dry, so not worth having. The hot food never ran out and a good choice, eggs done on order.

The pub next door is closed for refurbishment and will be open on the 7th June. Morrisons is just a short walk away.

All the staff was friendly and helpful, apart from the person on Saturday night who was a bit abrupt about us paying. It looks like there was a miscommunication from the one who checked us in to the one on Saturday night.

The good: price was around £100 for four nights so can’t grumble at all. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping left new towels everyday.

The bad: very rough round the edges, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Faeces stain on the toilet and drains stank when checked in. Housekeeping kept bathing into room even though paid for late checkout. Manager did refund the charge for this when we left after HK barging in when sat on the toilet!

Also, staff need to be more professional. More a gaggle of young women chatting and treating customers like an interruption to their socialising.

Very cheap but won’t be coming back.

This hotel was located well, just off the M1 & M18, and close to a large supermarket, a couple of fast food outlets and a Shell filling station. The room was comfortable but unfortunately the heating was totally inadequate - only one small radiator for a large room, and no heating in the bathroom. The weather outside was extremely cold, but in the room it should have been warmer than it was.

We have just stayed at this hotel for the third time in as many months. It is really handy for the motorway network, yet overnight it is sheltered enough for the motorway not to be a problem. The staff are always friendly and polite.

I found the room to be cold & there were stains on the carpet. The check in was easy & smooth process; you now have to log your car registration while using their car park. Didn't eat at the hotel as there is a reasonable pub / Morrison cafe & supermarket plus McDonald's across the road.

Stayed two nights
Good clean hotel with quick efficient check in and located just off M18. So I have no complaints about the hotel itself.

However beware of the 'FREE' parking as I received one week later a letter a demand for £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. I entered my registration at on arrival on the first day and was shocked to receive this demand.

I appealed including my hotel invoice clearly showing legitimate use of the carpark for two days - this was rejected and my appeal was unsuccessful. But would reduce the demand to £20 if I do not appeal the charge.

It's absolutely crazy that is costs more to use the "Free" parking than to stay in the hotel with free tea and coffee - had I received a valet for my car that would have been something
To me Civil Enforcement attitude is just to make as much money as possible - IBIS please sort this out as this is not customer service

We stayed here after a wedding vow renewal. The reception was held in the bar area and we were very impressed with the quality of the buffet. The staff were very attentive and worked hard to make it special. Our room was a bit tired but the breakfast was excellent, much more than expected. I would stay here again, brilliant price for what we had.
Well done to the staff, they really did make the day!

It’s a budget hotel but offers a great deal for the price. The area is very easy to find, straight off the m18, situated close to a Morrisons and McDonald’s do no need to be hungry, petrol station there too. Hotel has a large free car park, well lit at night. Entrance to hotel and reception is nice, bright and clean, staff really friendly and welcoming. Stairwell up upstairs rooms is chilly and a bit in need of decorating and a quick clean, but the actual room corridors are fine. Room is fine, basic, but it’s a budget hotel, what do you expect, it’s clean, quiet, beds comfy and there’s a telly. The bathroom was a bit of a handful however, which is truthfully the only reason I gave 4 stars, I’d have certainly given 5 otherwise… it’s no ventilation no extractor fan, and with a shower was a wet room smog, so steamy that you can hardly see where you’re at, the lighting isn’t great either, but it’s only a bathroom and I was in and out! Breakfast is fantastic! Great selection, fruit/cereal//coissants, toast, full English drinks buffet style, really good! Cannot recommend enough! Dining area is more or less in reception area so easy to find, comfy, and clean, the staff on are great, happy to help, welcoming, friendly and chatty, this is what it should be like! I’ve stayed in loads of hotels in the uk and it’s rare to get genuinely pleasant staff who actually look happy to be at work, seriously well done guys! I hope ibis read reviews, because for a budget hotel this one is very good! 👍
