Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Groupon deal and we enjoyed it. Sizeable room, comfortable bed and great shower. No biscuits in the room which is rare these days. Breakfast was good, cereal, porridge, cooked, pastries, cheese and ham, yoghurt and toast. Nice bar area and friendly staff. Shame parking costs £9:50;a day.

The George hosted my partners birthday party last weekend, we had our own private function room with our own Bluetooth speaker. Staff were very accommodating and drinks prices pretty good. A big thank you to Remi for assisting with the booking and ensuring everything went smoothly. Would happily book again in the future.

We recently had our wedding at The George. I couldn’t fault Remi (events co-ordinator) the whole thing was seamless from start to finish. She was so helpful and the day was so relaxed. We had the rude room and the courtyard for the day. There was loads of space for all our guest's and lovely spots for some beautiful photos. The reception team were really helpful sorting out rooms for us and our family and friends and also accommodating last minute changes. The food was great and all the rooms were perfect for our needs, the decor was beautiful. The bar and wait staff were equally as helpful and the whole weekend was great, I just wish we could do it all over again!! We are regular visitors to the George and will be definitely be back. I would highly recommend it for a little visit or a bigger event.

I held my son’s 18th surprise birthday meal. The event manager was amazing, she went above a mind beyond both in organising the evening with me to being there and coordinating the night. Excellent, recommend highly. Food, staff, venue and events perfect

We hired the Tudor room and Courtyard for our engagement party. From the start through to the end Remi has been absolutely amazing helping to organise our engagement party. No request was too much for her to handle, the communication was swift and professional throughout. We are so impressed with how smooth the event went. The food was amazing, the cocktails were perfect and we had such a good time! Thank you so much Remi and team

Me and my partner stayed at the George 1st time since being renovated, we went for my birthday, stayed years ago and loved it but this time we had an amazing time. The hotel and rooms are finished to such a beautiful finish, rooms very clean the bed was probably the comfiest bed we have ever slept in, we stayed in The Curved Suite and the only downside for the price was there was no coffee machine but they supplied espresso cups, no bottle of water etc but other than that the suite was lovely. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious our waitress Carla was amazing also, couldn't recommend enough, we thoroughly enjoyed out stay and can't wait to go back.

We attended The George for two Burns Nights. The staff were extremely attentive and looked after everyone exceptionally well. The food was out of this world! To cater for over 50 people and to produce such amazing quality is no mean feat! A massive thank you to Remi for coordinating both evenings with such professionalism and a huge thank you to Danny for creating such amazing cuisine!

We have just returned home after having spent one night at The George Hotel. It is an absolute gem. Service, food, hospitality is certainly first class. We stayed in a well appointed room which was immaculately clean with all well appointed amenities. Thank you so much to all of you (far too many to mention) for all your kind attention to detail and unwavering, impeccable service. (Room 205) Newnham.
