Just a lovely park. Quiet. Great for 50 plus year people who want to relax.

Small friendly clubhouse but in a lovely small town/village that has nice pubs and place to go.

My caravan was really clean. I mean spotless. Parking was great for an accessible caravan. My girlfriend is disabled and elsewhere we've had to put the chair on the grass. Here the driveway and ramp up to the caravan was great.

Even the shower drain in the wet room worked like new. At some hotels I've had to ask for a mop! And elsewhere with wet rooms you often get a wet floor. Here they must check everything before a new holiday.

Just a really nice place for older people or couples with young children who want a nice get away.

Small shop that is also the check in office is easy to park outside and has enough in there to fill your caravan with nice food and magazines etc

I am here as working local. Have booked to come again

We were pleasantly surprised at how cozy our trailer was as we booked the cheapest 3 bed available.

The lounge is very spacious with an open plan kitchen / dining area. It had a big TV and a lovely electric fireplace that heated the whole lounge up quickly.

The kitchen was quite well equipped except for no clothes to wash or dry dishes.

Our trailer had 3 bedrooms, one with a dbl bed and the other two with 2 single beds. They were quite tight with not much room to maneuver around the bed but it's more than comfy for a weeks stay. Each room had built in cupboards too.

Our trailer had 2 x bathrooms, one with a toilet and basin and the other with toilet, basin and shower. The shower was always hot and plenty water. There were however no towels in our trailer as they were apparently not included but we didnt know this so had to get some from reception, luckily theu did not charge us for them.

Our booking included access to the indoor heated pool for a 45 min session. The water was warm but the lifeguard quite unfriendly and she was wedding outside not paying attention to anyone in the pool, although it wasn't busy at that stage. We didn't stay long as she left the windows and door open which let the warm air out and pretty much defeated the whole point of being indoors and we got cold quite quickly.

The service from the ladies at reception was absolutely brilliant, they were super friendly and helpful and attended to all our needs and questions. They even printed some work stuff for me, a special shot out to Bridie for going above and beyond.

The wifi signal was not good in our trailer so i battled all week to work and only one device can connect. We had pur wifi songle with us and also battled with signal.

Will definitely be back, enjoyed our stay and know what to pack for next time.

Booked a luxury caravan (free welcome pack including coffee, milk, tea, biscuits, Prosecco etc) for myself, my wife and our two young children. Both our accommodation and the park were immaculately presented and the park is a good nice (not too big, easy to get around with all ammenities within short walk). Check in was easy and fuss free, with a shop om site for any essentials we needed for our short break. Would also recommend the Mersea Barn (2 min drive from park) for picking up some great food. The park has it's own private access to beach, which even in 30 degree plus weather was not overcrowded and the kids thoroughly enjoyed. There is a park on site outside the clubhouse (The Muddy Duck) which meant er were able to enjoy evening drinks while the kids played and made friends. The park has a pool, which we booked slots for and again really pleased that this was not too busy - it was the first time the kids have been swimming this summer so they were over the moon! Our caravan came with a balcony, which meant meals and drinks could be enjoyed while the kids played safely. There is plenty to do on the island, West Mersea is a short drive where there is a yatch club and plenty of good family friendly restaurants - if you like seafood, you won't be disappointed. There is a watersports facility, crabbing, access to beach, a great park so enough to keep little ones happy. We also took the short trip to Brightlingsea which again was very family friendly and not overcrowded. Will 100% be recommending to friends. Finally, all the staff on the park were incredibly friendly and big shout out to Hayley in Guest Services for all her local knowledge!

We've just arrived home from Mersea Island Holiday Park having spent 3 nights in a burst of blue caravan.

Overall it was a comfortable stay but the van was overpriced because the facilities were so basic and small so had to go off site for all food and entertainment.

The club house, the Muddy Duck, had about 6 tables inside and it's quite a large caravan park, it definitely doesn't cater for the amount of people there in site. We ended up driving down to The Sandbank pub (along the beach with the colourful huts) and that was better as more room, and a better atmosphere as well as visiting other restaurants and beaches.

My daughter and husband used the swimming pool once and they said it was OK but a little bit dirty.

The caravan was mostly clean when we arrived although it ran slightly over our check in time but I can't fault that as the turn around time is quite tight. There weren't enough towels - there were no towels to use to get out of the bath and shower for the floor. We ended up driving off the island to Tesco to buy some as we forgot our beach towels so just bought some floor mats. Also if you plan on washing your hair and need to use a towel, I'd recommend taking your own towels. The kitchen was well equipped and they give you a great goody bag of biscuits, fudge (although ours was open!) Tea, coffee and sugar and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge and some complimentary toiletries in each bathroom. A very nice touch. There is only 1 draw in each bedroom which wasn't enough room for us so kept some clothes in the case which was OK.

Beds were OK and relatively comfy but there was a street light right outside the window which made the main bedroom very bright all night. The pillows were a bit hard and gave my husband a sore neck.

Staff were very blasé across all staff we met, especially in the muddy duck which was a shame. I had to wait until 3 staff members finished their conversation before any of them served me, which was a bit annoying.

The van was very good but the site severely lacked in entertainment and things to do. I wouldn't go back to this site again, which is a shame as I liked the location and liked the van very much.

I'd give the van 4 stars and the site 2 stars. So I'll give this review 3 stars.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review 1981MrsD. Whilst there should never be the need, I hope you raised your concerns with the Guest Services team during your visit so they had the opportunity to look into this for you and resolve where needed. This certainly isn't the usual experience to have with us at Mersea Island and hope you will not judge us too harshly on this occasion and choose to visit us again in the future.

Arrived to our luxury caravan to find it literally covered in ants. All over the kitchen, everywhere! My kids were eating lunch when we arrived and ants were crawling up their leg after only 20 minutes of being in the caravan! We told the staff who came and sprayed the areas in the caravan that the ants could be getting in from and they also honestly explained that they had an issue with ants from other caravans. As a good will gesture, we were given £15 vouchers to the muddy duck clubhouse for food and drink. They explained we couldn’t be moved as there was no available caravans left. The ants continued to come and in the morning they were everywhere again! We told guest services who explained they had heard of a few ant issues but our caravan should not be affected. They stated a pest control person would be out the next day and they would spray again. I was not happy for the re-spray as it clearly didn’t work the first time and I had two kids and a dog with me so wasn’t keen for them to be breathing it in. Guest services then found another caravan we could move to but it was two grades lower then what we had paid for. We went and saw the caravan and to be fair, just wanted to move to an ant free area ASAP!! We accepted the swap and they were cleaning the new caravan ready for us so we went away to use our vouchers at the muddy duck. With two hungry kids, we sat down and asked for menus to be told they don’t do food Monday-Friday and only bbqs on weekends. Our stay was Monday to Thursday so it was £15 for some quite pricey drinks which didn’t cover a full round for the family. We left the caravan park to get food and returned to the new caravan to find it dirty with stains on the sofa, dirty floors, some floor was actually unsteady underneath so felt very wobbly. A few stains on bedsheets.
To say we were gutted was an understatement and I just couldn’t bring myself to continue at the site. As stated, we had booked to stay Monday-Thursday but we are currently packing our belongings to leave now and it’s Tuesday.
I would not come back again and definitely won’t be recommending which is a shame because my parents owned a caravan here years ago and it was a highlight to come! No idea what’s happened for it to take such a dive like this. So upset.

We stayed here for a weekend in September for a little break (a very windy weekend I may add) but the wind didn't spoil it for us but the pool area did unfortunately. We were only there from Friday evening to Sunday, we booked a swimming session for the Saturday & the Sunday, our first impression of the pool was good, very covid aware in regards to social distancing and hand sanitizer stations however on closer inspection the general pool area was dirty, especially in the corners where is was very dirty. It looked like the floor hadn't been swept or cleaned for a long time, the tables and chairs need to be moved and the floor to be completely washed down. I met a a lady whilst there who stays there quite often who has mentioned this before apparently to the park but no action was taken. Also we were disappointed as out of the 2 swimming sessions we booked 1 was cancelled due to the chorline levels being too high, we couldn't book another day as we were leaving that afternoon unfortunately, on the plus side the pool was warm. The children's park on site is nice and the country park just a short walk away is lovely and has a great playground! Beach is nice and good walks to be had. We would like to return but the pool does need to be closer.
The only other thing I do want to touch on is the recycling bins. We all recycle a lot more these days trying to do a good thing for our planet so I found the recycling bins far away from the main bins abit strange..... It would make more sense to be next to each other otherwise it will all just get thrown together as people wouldn't want to walk further to take their recycling, just my opinion. Anyway an all round nice short weekend away and would probably return.

We have a 4 month old puppy and really wanted a break that centred around him. I couldn't have asked for more. Every area of the park and beach are dog friendly. All people we have met are regular visitors with their K9 babies for this reason. There are no facilities for mass entertainment or a large pool (quite small), so perfect if you want a tranquil break as the park is so peaceful. Our caravan is modern and spotless - you would never know dogs have been in there. There was also a thoughtful goody bag left for the dog with a blanket, treats, travel water bottle and rope toy! There is a lovely pub a 5 min walk away or 1 min drive called the Dog and Pheasant, serving delicious food. West Mersea (10 min drive) is the place to go for your shopping essentials and some more great beaches. Don't forget to check the high tide times for getting on and off of the island! Will definitely be a regular visitor! 😎

I have just got back from a four night break at the end of the school summer holidays with my husband and our two children. I saw an advertisement on Facebook and thought that it looked good....my husband thought it was too good to be true but when we arrived and checked into the TriBeca we were all rushing around like little kids, absolutely thrilled because it felt all our Christmases had come at once! The van itself was amazing, it has a private hot tub and a freestanding bath in the main bedroom with a waterproof television so you really can't get any more decadent! The van was amazing but it was the people working on the site that really added so much extra value. Megan, Lorna and Jasmine were all brilliant and treated us like good friends. Jasmine gave me the lowdown on all the places to eat locally, Lorna was always so friendly and helpful, even leaving two pints of milk on our step one day when we were out and the delivery was a little late! Megan was amazing, she wouldn't hear of me walking my shopping to our van and insisted on giving us and our bags a lift in the golf cart which was music to our kids ears! She introduced me to other people on site so I knew who they were and what they did. Warren came to fix a small leak and Audrey was ever so friendly and does a tremendous job keeping the vans immaculate. I was so enthused that within 24 hours I had gone to reception to rebook for a short stay in the Christmas holidays! We were all so sad to leave but so excited to be returning to see everyone. The resort is right on the beach and there's a country park just next door with a World War 2 trail and even a pillbox that the kids loved playing in. There was a large park area with lots of beautiful, well thought out equipment that gave hours of fun! The Dog and Pheasant was a short walk away and did lovely decent home cooked meals. I really do not have anything but praise for this site. There is an indoor swimming pool and you need to pre book a 45 minute slot. The pool is clean and not overcrowded. My boys were both disappointed that they couldn't stay in longer but that is the only small thing I would change if I could. Megan told me that Away Resorts are good employers and you could tell! She explained that during Covid regular meetings were held to keep people informed and boost morale and if anyone was suffering then the boss would happily arrange a one to one zoom call to discuss everything and solve any problems and there was even a fund to support workers in these trying times. It's an ethos like this that really encourages the excellent quality staff to work and stay in a job and to go the extra mile for the customers. If I lived nearer I would be asking for a job! I think I will be on the phone to them soon to see about organising next summer's late getaway! I cannot praise Mersea Island Away Resorts enough!

It was our very first stay in a holiday park. After a long hesitation as our preference has always been a hotel, I saw an ads of Away Resorts popped up during my Google search for our mini break and I was thankful it came up.

I chose a nice-looking caravan called Burst of Blue which looked rather new. Upon arrival, Megan greeted us with a smile, handed us a key and a map in no time. For us who never stayed in a parked hoke before, it was exciting but we didn't expect too much, thinking it was not a hotel. But to our surprise, the place was really lovely, spacious and the goodie bag (tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, toffees), small paper pot with lid (tea towel, bin bag, washing up liquid, pencil with thyme seed) and some prosecco, sparkling juice and Crevendale milk in the fridge really made us feel like home.

As we chose the exclusive caravan, we were given all those along with toiletries, and towels. We were happy with our stay. It was nice and quiet at night as well.

The only downside was a lack of bathroom mat and because it was near the sea and was windy, you may expect some sands inside the caravan.

But all in all, we were very impressed with our first caravan stay and thanks Megan who was so lovely and helpful. And yes, it's value much exceeded the price we paid too (another bargain!).

Probably the best holiday park we have stayed on in Mersea
We always book a week in August with the children on this lovely little island. This was the first time we have stayed at this Holiday Park
The caravan was immaculate, staff welcoming and facilities although not many were excellent.
Just perfect for a much needed get away.
The play park on site was well maintained and you’re a stones throw from the beach and Cudmore Country Park.
The kids got to swim in the pool and drinks were plenty at the Muddy Duck.
West Mersea is just a 10 min drive for crabbing, beaches and more entertainment.
If you want a peaceful break then this is def the park to stay at.
