Angus Hotel may be situated on a busy thoroughfare but inside is a haven of peace and comfort. The rooms were immaculate and en-suite shower room spacious and clinically clean. Okay, there are no fancy toiletries but there was coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the room. We were well looked after by Rachel and next morning the breakfast was...

Stayed here for an overnight stay as there was a show on at the Sands Centre which was within walking distance and therefore ideal. Very friendly and welcoming owners. The room at the back of the hotel was spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast was lovely. Parking available around the corner with a permit provided by the hotel. Couldn't ask for...

We stayed for one night to attend a family christening. We found the hotel straightforwardly and they provided a window card to allow free parking around the corner. The owners are friendly and helpful. The room was towards the back of the hotel and was quiet. The room size was ok for the hotel and area. We had the evening...

We were very last minute booking this hotel, but nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We were on the first floor, near the back of the hotel, it was nice and quiet and the room was very spacious. Beautiful breakfast, with plenty of choice. Free parking. If we'll be in the area, we'll call again

The last stop for our group of nine walking the Cumbrian Way. Owners were extremely helpful in arranging birthday celebrations, recommending and booking a restaurant, and arranging taxis for us. The standard of accomodation was first rate, choice of breakfast was compehensive and very good, and the price extremly competitive.

A group of us stayed here after walking the Cumbria Way. This hotel is very good value for money and the owners were really accommodating to our requests. Our stay coincided with the birthday of our group leader so we enlisted the help of the lady of the house to arrange a cake on arrival plus make recommendation and booking...

Mixed feelings about this hotel. The wife owner has helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet (because it was in the back). The breakfast was well done. Yet, the decor was tired. It was a tiring walk with a heavy pack uphill from the city center. There are no decent restaurants nearby. But worse, the husband owner was...

5* stay. Very comfortable. Clean, fresh, warm room with a great breakfast. Lots of choice. Easy parking during our stay. Pleasant host and good location. Didn't try any of the evening meals on offer as we didn't stay long enough. One night stay.
