Lovely bnb, perfect location for people walking the Hadrians Wall walk. Comfortable en-suite room with everything you could need. Quite central so lots of choices for an evening meal, which the host was happy to help find somewhere really close due to achey legs from walking. Yummy breakfast, what more do you need.
This bed and breakfast is located in the eastern area of Carlisle where all the bed and breakfasts are. It is devoid of any personality or ambiance. Toiletries are of the lowest quality as the open provenance from Aldi denotes. This having r been said the whole house is very functional, the room was big enough on the top floor with a decent bathroom and power shower. A bit noisy as on the main street into city. The breakfast was good enough.
This was an overnight stay on the Hadrian's Way walk. Debbie knows how to look after people. A lovely room (with a bath!) in a lovely house, just down the hill from the city centre. We slept well and had an excellent breakfast ... Debbie was interested in us and made our stay very enjoyable. Debbie understands walkers and makes their stay seamless.
Stayed here whilst in Carlisle for the Blues Festival. Top quality B & B, located in a nice area, about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the town centre. An extra plus is off free, off road parking. Accomodation is lovely, both in the bedroom, and breakfast room, etc. Debbie is a friendly, welcoming host and runs a ,ovely place. Breakfast was excellent too. It was our first time at the Fern Lea, and we will definitely be back on our next stay in Carlisle.
We stopped here before the last leg of our Hadrian's Wall walk. The B&B is in a beautiful house just a few hundred metres from the Hadrians Wall path. We had a wonderful welcome, a lovely corner room with a great breakfast and a packed lunch made to order for our 14 miles walk. We would highly recommend staying here
Last stop on the Hadrian’s Wall walk and Debbie couldn’t have been more accommodating Great location being both just off the Hadrian’s Wall trail and 10/15 mins walk into the city centre Great room, great breakfast and great hosts Highly recommend
Very nice room and en-suite bathroom although they were facing an extremely busy main road. Nice breakfast in the morning and packed lunches were excellent. It would have been nice to have had a lounge to sit in after coming back from having an evening meal, instead it was collapsing onto the comfy bed! Thanks very much for the recommendation to book a table at the nearby golf club which was only a few minutes away.
Stayed here as part of our Hadrian's wall walk. This place was so clean and tidy. Comfy bed and quiet for good sleep. Short walk into Carlisle for dinner and the breakfast was fabulous, good choice and poached eggs cooked to perfection - care taken with everything.
Spotlessly clean Victorian property with lovely rooms. Good breakfast but packed lunch not quite as good as from previous properties during our Hadrian’s Wall walk. Our room was by the main road so noisy, but our son’s room was quieter. Our shower was temperamental in the morning fluctuating between hot and cold, but that may have been to high demand at the that time. Good local restaurants nearby.
A very clean, tidy and well organised B&B. The location for Hadrian’s wall walkers is close to the trail and very easy to find. Carlisle town is also very close (20 mins walk) for pubs, supplies etc. Breakfast was well cooked with a good variety of options. The owner also sells compeed plasters for tired feet!
