Just back from this hotel and will return. Apart from the central location and the great ball room, this was a very impressive hotel, once we finally managed to find the car park! The finish in the public areas and retention of many stunning original features was a delight. We

Hi Sophie. The restaurant is open for non residents. It is well worth booking in advance and the food I had was excellent.

Where about it hotel parking?
Where about it hotel parking?
The parking is down an alley (Blackfriars Street) which is off Victoria Viaduct. The Post Code for Sat Navs is CA3 8HB. Go down the alley to the end - you'll have St Cuthbert's Church on your left, the gates to the car park in front of you (and Cathedral beyond) and St Cuthbert's Lane on your right. If the gate isn't open (which it normally isn't) there is an intercom to the right of the gate - this allows you to talk to reception and ask them to send someone to open the gate (it's not automatic/ remote). The car park is fairly small/ tight to manoeuvre. If you access the hotel website and elect "About the Hotel" there is a sub menu for "directions" with a downloadable pdf map/ directions. I would just add that when driving down Blackfriars Lane, it crosses a pedestrianised area by Marks and Spencer's where there appeared to be some bad potholes to get onto it. We arrived in the dark during heavy rain so didn't see them, so take care.

"Don't stay here"
"Room 318 is at the front of the hotel, newly refurbished and very comfortable."
"Probably at the back which should be quiet although I have had no problem"
"Rooms at the rear are quieter, but the view at the front is better."
"The marketplace is traffic free, but there are some delivery vehicles early in the morning, so a room at the rear will be quieter."
