Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hosts were very welcoming and the house was so well decorated and furnished. I was given a choice of room. We were given help with where to eat in the evening and after a good night's sleep we had an excellent breakfast and supplied with a value for money packed lunch to keep us going for the day.

My 10 year old son and I stayed in Courfield house at the end of our Hadrian's Wall walk. We stayed for 2 days. The house is located at the east side of Carlisle, brilliant if you are finishing a 30km walk coming from the east. The hosts are fantastic, smiley and attending to anything you may need. We had completely wet boots which were then efficiently taken care of by our hostess Jackie. The room was large, supremely clean. Every detail around the house is beautiful. Excellent breakfast. Even, as we were a bit later then usual on our return from Bowness on Solway, the hosts said that they would pick us up in their car in case we didn't make the bus. We did, but nonetheless, what kindness.

Stayed one night after our first day on Hadrian's Wall path. It is well located for the path and not too far from Carlisle town centre. Which was appreciated... The room was nice and comfortable, with the usual amenities.

The lady who runs it was very friendly and helpful - loads of recommendations for local restaurants as well. Bed very comfy and room clean. Breakfast was OK although not as good as some we had during our walk. Would happily stay again.

Lovely family run guest house which is well located for the town, restaurants and the main sport venues Added advantage of parking on site. Size of room and amenities were spot on. Jackie who we dealt with the most of was always helpful. Good breakfast too. All this was backed up with prompt and helpful responses to queries pre arrival. Happily go back anytime we are in the vicinity and looking to stay over.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a visit to Carlisle. The room was clean and the bed comfortable with a nice sized bathroom as well. The hostess was extremely helpful and provided a fantastic breakfast each day and went out of her way to make us welcome. A great place to stay.

We were welcomed with vegan chocolate biscuits and it was uphill from there!! What a lovely, comfortable place to stay. Our hostess went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast, and a healthy packed lunch that kept us going, full of great snacks. 5+ stars! Thank you so much for making stop 2 on our wall trip so lovely.

A brilliant B&B. Very welcoming host. We stayed here for one night & everything was great. The room was spotlessly clean, stocked tea tray, soft fluffy towels and toiletries in the room. Extra pillows and throws available in the room so no need to ask. Plenty drawer & wardrobe space. Breakfast was very good, plenty choice. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals as well as cooked breakfast & toast.

We found a warm welcome for walkers at this comfortable and convenient guest house, with a good breakfast.
We stayed 3 nights at the start of our long walk along Hadrian's Wall and were very glad of Jackie's help in drying our waterproofs and muddy footwear. The house was close to Carlisle centre for our sightseeing day, and near the bus station and the route of the National Trail.

Welcome find after day walking Hadrians Wall. Room comfortable up stairs good size bathroom and room with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was simple fare in nice room. Work needs to be done on understanding of dietary requirements with wheat products provided to coeliac requiring gluten free diet for their take away lunch not helpful. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance to choose from.
