Wow. What can we say. Beautiful. So friendly and welcoming. Amazingly clean and well presented. Will be taking some decor ideas home with me. Good nights sleep. Room facilities great with iron and board even alarm clock if needed and of course not to forget hairdryer and brew facilities. We will definitely be making another visit to this victoriana style property, mixing the old with the new in a seamless way. Beautiful garden to the front and side in a sunny position. Local to all amenities, town just a few minutes walk away. Parking facilities, parking permits given when booking in. Overall outstanding. Well ✔ done. ⭐ Jan & Mick September 2020
Used as a stopover for a golfing trip to Scotland with my brother and was impressed. Twin room was clean well equipped and modern including USB charger sockets which is nice. Owner/Manager is a lovely person who served us two delicious breakfasts in the morning. Bathroom is clean and again well equipped. Only slight negative is the skylight in our room rattled when it got really windy. Would 100% recommend and stay again.
Our group of walkers used Cornerways as the stopover on the first stage of our Hadrian's Wall walk. Despite arriving in town before noon, Adele made us most welcome and allowed us to leave our bags before we set off to walk back from Bowness on Solway. When we returned late afternoon she had chilled beers waiting for us and had deposited all our bags in our rooms. Breakfast the following morning was fantastic and set us up for our next stage to Gilsland. Adele goes that extra mile to ensure you make the most of your stay and we all enjoyed her friendly banter and attention to detail.
Had a lovely stay at Cornerway. Great old building with a lovely hallway. Classic guest house aesthetic and the right mix of age and modernity. Adele was a fantastic host and was friendly and incredibly welcoming. Breakfast was great. The guest house is in a great location close to the city centre on a beautiful street. Great place for those walking the wall. I stayed for 2 nights. First night after finishing my leg of the wall in Carlisle, the next day I continued on to Bowness-On-Solway before getting the 93 bus back to Carlisle to continue my stay.
Spent 4 nights here week of 17th August. Room was a double which had everything you needed, en suite was lovely size and although my room (9) faced the road, once window was closed, could not hear a thing..Adele was absolutely amazing, what a lovely person, she made me feel so welcome and helped out with my car issue (thanks Adele 😉) breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and my poached egg was perfect each morning! Would definitely recommend...
