We recently spent a couple of days at Morven Lodge. A great find, lovely house. Well furnished and equipped. Our room was pleasant to relax in when we were not out and about. Phil and Helen perfect hosts. Very friendly, full of lots of useful local knowledge and also not so local. Breakfast was very good, nicely presented and well cooked. Definitely recommend.

We only had 1 night in Ballater and as we arrived late afternoon from Balmoral which was an 8 mile drive away, wish we had 2 nights as the village is really lovely. Easy to walk around and very attractive with the river running through it. A couple of minutes walk from the B & B. Morven lodge is a lovely stone Victorian building which has been lovingly restored and is the pride and joy of the owners. Parking is easy and we had a warm friendly welcome. Phil is very gregarious! He did keep us talking quite a long time whilst we were keen to get to our room to freshen up as we had dinner reservations. The room was large and fabulous with a very comfortable bed and massive Smart TV. Everywhere was spotless. The only disappointment was the tiny wash basin in the bathroom which was the size you have in a WC and no hot water for the basin. We ran it for quite sometime but no, no hot water when we mentioned it to Phil at breakfast he did say they hadn't had the immersion on. It was quite difficult to brush teeth without getting toothpaste everywhere. The shower was fine as it had one of those separate heating systems. You order the breakfast the night before ( Phil will take you though the form!) and it was very good. He did hover a bit and then gave us the visitors book to fill in whilst we were eating breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.

Morven Lodge is an exceptionally well presented home and Phil and Helen were the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The house/bedroom was spotlessly clean and very well presented & equipped. Only downside if I can call it that, was we only stayed for 1 night and would have loved to stay for more. Many thanks for your hospitality and look forward to returning.

Such a beautiful home. The rooms are extremely clean and very well presented. The hosts are very helpful and even asked where we would like to have dinner and then phoned and made a booking for us. They are wonderful people and make you feel very welcome in their home. It's a pity we live so far away because we would love to visit them again. The beds are comfortable, the room is quiet and the bathroom is amazing. The breakfast was very good and well presented. There is nothing more you could ask for.

Phil and Helen are the ultimate hosts and made us feel right at home as soon as we entered their beautiful home. This B and B is decorate with touches of classic elegance while still having a welcoming, comfortable feel. Phil offered restaurant suggestions and secured dinner reservations for us at a terrific local bistro that was just a short walk from the inn. Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities. Our breakfast experience was outstanding! The breakfast table was meticulously set with candles, white table lines and elegant place settings. Helen is an outstanding cook! Don't miss the porridge or the eggs with smoked salmon! Thank you Phil and Helen for sharing your beautiful home with us! ~ Traecy and Mark New Jersey, USA
