This Premier Inn is situated at an easy 20 minute walk from the heart of the town. The service and check-in was very good and the car parking easy. We had a copious breakfast in the morning which stood us in good stead for the rest of the day. Our room was clean and comfortable with total black-out to make sleeping easy.

We stayed here on Wednesday 10th June the Staff were excellent and a big thank you to Terry who even though our problem was with my 8oz Rump Steak meal cooked and serviced in Beefeater next door. When I showed Terry how much grizzle I had left from an 8oz steak from our photo and told her we had only been given a free desert and not even been visited by the manager! She immediately offered us a refund on our breakfasts which we found a nice thing to do by Premier Inn as still was not really their problem to have to deal with. So a big well done for Terry and the Premier Inn in Welwyn Garden City.
Regarding this 8oz Rump Steak and the left amount of grizzle impossible to eat, I will leave a photo to let you make up your own minds about the grizzle if allowed to do so. I have not ever been served a rump steak anywhere before that contained so much grizzle and also no one returned to enquire if everything was alright or was my main meal 8oz Rump Steak ordered cancelled and refunded. Also we were so glad our continental breakfasts were free as at 08.45 in the morning we and many guests after us were told the offered pancakes were now off the menu as they had run out! So we had to make do with toast and other things which thankfully they hadn't run out of as did many others as well. Our Premier Inn stay could have been better as this Hotel needs a refurb as it lacks air con and other room facilities we have had in other Premier Inn rooms we have stayed in before.
However apart from Terry other staff we found all friendly and no problems with.
Thx John & Sue Eastbourne UK

We arrived at the hotel at 12noon after ringing at 7am to ask to check in early they couldn't say if the room would be ready, sure enough it was ready which was great, after an hour in the room it was so hot that we was struggling with how hot it was, we went to reception and asked to move to a different hotel with a/c and was told all sold out, I could book it on my phone though. So they agreed to move rooms for us but told me it was my fault I checked in early otherwise I would be in a different room. I asked for an iron and iron board to be taken to my room which reception basically chucked at me and I had to struggle with it. The kettle made the room trip so we was in dark yet again our fault and reception blamed us for breaking the kettle, oh and dont use the kettle under the tv it will danage the tv too but the tea tray and plugs are under the tv. The second room was still hot so I asked for a fan and was told sorry there's not enough to go round the hotel so the 2 nights we was there my partner never slept.
The restaurant was disgusting food and dirty napkins all over the foor and this was only at breakfast, the food was cold when asked if more hash browns I was told don't know.
I emailed my complaint to basically be called a lier and that I never reported any of the problem to the hotel while I was there.
But they hoped I would stay again soon they must be joking I have never experienced anything like it and I stay in alot of hotel but never a premier inn again.

Visited in August, with all the Covid precautions being followed. Room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. No air con, but a fan was left in the room.
Large car park. Used the adjacent Beefeater for breakfast one morning, which had 50% EOTHO offer applied so very cheap, although a little chaotic with the new restrictions. Bit too sugary for me, but my meat eating wife enjoyed hers.
It was about 20 minutes walk to the town centre and station for the train into London for £13.50. I preferred the town centre McDonalds for breakfast.

The hotel is near the town centre next to the Stanborough Stadium. It was really quiet. The buffet breakfast at the weekend was OK but I felt much more secure having my breakfast served at my table, it appeared to have been just prepared. Room was immaculately clean. Sometimes the shower took a while to get hot would be my only negative. The WIFI was quick and overall I would definitely stay there again.

We booked a night here after a local music festival and were very happy with our choice. Emma on reception was welcoming and friendly, and the room very large and clean. The shower had great water pressure, which is welcome if you have spent all day in the sun at a festival. Our room faced a sports centre, so was completely quiet and pitch dark at night. Only docked a point as the air con didn't work, though there was a fan in the room, and England was having one of it's rare, very hot nights.

Convenient for business trips, they don't clean rooms anymore, except before you arrive and leave, which I don't like, keep fetching clean towels, cups, glasses, te bags etc. It's okay for one night or two maybe but, unfortunately I had to stay several nights. The wi-fi is poor, the paid wi-fi not worth it. Bed comfy, hotel conveniently located and staff friendly. I went to the restaurant once, felt a bit like a creche, took ages to get served and food of adequate quality. I've stayed in worse but it ought to be better

I have given only 1 star as i didnt actually stay in the end. I am sure the accommodation is as per Premier Inn's everywhere and the 1 start rating is becaiuse i am unhappy about the 3 day flex rate if you wish to cancel. I was due to stay from the Sunday (4pm check in) for 3 days. It became apparent on the Thursday at 6pm i did not need to stay so i tried to cancel online. It wouldnt allow me to do this and i could not reach anyone in reservations as it was outside of normal working hours. I called reservations just after 8am on the Friday morning and was told the 3 day flex rate would have needed to be cancelled on the Wednesday evening by 11.59pm. Basically check the detail of the cancellation terms as i was not offered a refund even for any of the subsequent days
