Let’s face it, Slough is a dump. No getting away from that. But this hotel is certainly no dump. A comfortable room with a great view of the station (I like views where things are happening and I like trains) and the windows kept out the sound. This hotel is great if you need to commute to London, to Windsor or to Maidenhead by train or to Heathrow Airport by bus - which was the reason for my stay.

The staff are helpful, the bar stays open until you call it a day. Breakfast is basic but perfectly fine. Public rooms are well done and congenial. My only issue is the interface between Booking.com’s system and IHG’s. For my second stay running at a Holiday Inn the booking I made wasn’t on the hotel’s system. But the staff in the desk dealt with it with minimal fuss and I was soon in my room.

For me this is the best hotel in Slough for a night’s stay. And I could recommend it too if you’re visiting Windsor and want to find accommodation that’s below Windsor hotel rates.

Stayed here for a trip to Legoland. Got the hotelhoppa bus (H55) from T5 (10.50 single for family of four). Runs every half hour. Check in was easy and efficient. Room was clean. Great buffet in the evening for £15 per adult, kids eat free. Restaurant staff went out of their way to source a candle and sing happy Birthday to our daughter.

M&S express opposite the hotel; handy to pick up a meal deal picnic to take to Legoland.

Got the Greenline bus directly outside the hotel to Legoland: £10 family day pass: great value. Took approx 50 mins but travels through Windsor which was lovely to see. It goes on to Ascot after Legoland.

Overall would highly recommend this hotel for easy transfer from T5 and a great base for visiting Windsor, Legoland, Ascot and surrounding area.

I stayed here last week for two nights.
The staff very polite and helpful couldn’t do enough for you on reception.
The food is pretty average but good variety.
The rooms are very modern and clean. This was ideal for business trips as they do breakfast early enough the hotel was quiet.
Had a very small gym (one runner, one bike, one rower and weights) if was fine for my self but if you like to do lots of things in the gym may be worth looking at ones near by. And if anyone else is in there your limited.
I would defiantly stay here again just a shame the food is bit bland.

Stayed here night before our flight. On arrival at Terminal 5 we looked for the Hoppa Bus. Do not waste your time as this does not go to this hotel. Go to stand 7 and take 703 bus. It costs a pound and the stop is announced as Holiday Inn Express so you will know where to get off. Hotel is lovely and clean. Beds super comfy. Free cooked breakfast included. Will definitely stay here again.

I booked a stay at this Holiday Inn Express, for my young family to stay for one night. However, when we arrived around 9:15 pm, we were greeted by a Security Guard who informed us that we had no booking. I showed him our confirmation email and after a brief discussion, he went to get the Hotel Manager. The Manager abruptly informed us that our booking had been cancelled. He told us they had a private function and he had told the third party company we booked through, who should have informed us.

I was accompanied by my husband and two small children, aged 4 and 6. This was particularly distressing as not only was it late in the evening, but my daughter (6) has learning disabilities and the Manager would not even allow us to enter in the hotel foyer whilst we tried to resolve the issue or find alternative accommodation, this whole interaction was all on the street outside the hotel in the cold. The manager was consistently rude insisting he would not help us and it was not his fault and that we should leave.

We were extremely lucky to find alternative accommodation when you consider the late hour, that this occurred during school holidays and that we are in the middle of a pandemic, therefore, hotels opening less room.

It is 2 weeks later and I'm still yet to receive a refund from either Holiday Inn or the third party we booked with for the stay and the breakfast.

Even if this hotel opens again I would not recommend to stay here due to the way the management treated me and my young children. It was cold, dark, late and not letting us even enter the hotel was unnecessary and an extremely cold thing to do for such a customer based service. Having complained to the company, the manager then lied about our actions to his seniors. Avoid this hotel and staff!!!

We missed our flight from Heathrow, and found this unexpected treat for our overnight stay nearby.
Only £90, including tax! This is a first class tourist/business hotel. It is modern, has needed conveniences and supplies. The decor inspires a calm, but active, sense of place. The double room is not large, but comfortable, with a large tv and a hot pot and hairdryer. The bath, especially the shower, are lovely. Lots of hot water. Very clean. The attached casual restaurant provides both your free hot breakfast, and an evening sandwich, pizza, or light supper plated meal. The food was very tasty and not at all expensive. There is also a coffee bar and drink bar.
We did not feel we could walk around the busy small business neighborhood, but Windsor Castle was said to be 10 minutes away - unsure if by bus or walking. The #7 local bus will get you there in 10 minutes cheaply, not too difficult from the Heathrow central bus station, just ask a few questions and check the time schedules. It is a very short walk from the bus stop.

Not a good experience of staying at this Hotel. The on site parking is managed by a 3rd Party and I was hit with a parking fine for £100, I complained to Holiday Inn and they adopted a very dismissive attitude. There are plenty of better Hotels in the area, my advice would be to choose somewhere else.

Stayed here for 3 nights. 1st morning no hot water for a wash informed reception and was told they would get someone to look at it. Then they told me there was nothing wrong with it and ask a cleaner to show me how to turn it on. As far as I’m aware there’s only 2 ways to turn a tap. They also accused us of smoking in the room which we would never do. Next two mornings no hot water again between 7am and 9am

Stayed here xmas day/night as we have done for the past 6 years.
It’s ok for a place to stay for the night, however i was horrified that they now charge £14 to park your car there for 24 hours. Have never been charged to park my car over night here ever and i wasn’t charged at easter as we stayed then so it was introduced since then.

I do not think i will be staying here again as there is plenty of other places to stay and they do not charge extra for parking.

I did notice that the car park was quite empty late at night so I don’t think i am the only one.

My advice is if you drive go elsewhere do not bother.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst we visited london with my sister who had flown over from America..
It was very reasonably priced, rooms were simple but clean, had everything we needed..
Breakfast selection was lovely..
However staff at reception were rude and very unhelpful..we needed to meet family at Heathrow, not knowing the area we asked how to get there, the guy behind the desk grunted and pointed to a screen behind us and said book a taxi then walked away..taxi was hugely expensive so we asked if there was any other way and was told no..so we walked 40 mins to the nearest train station..we found out the following day,by a local that there is actually a bus stop opposite the hotel and only cost 2 pounds..
They gave us a wifi code that didnt work,so I asked at front desk and was glared at and very rudely told it was correct, so had bearly any signal for our stay..
My son wanted to use there fitness equipment but couldnt find the room and once again was spoken to very rudely when he asked..
Working in a hotel myself,I was very surprised by the attitude of cant be bothered to help,I understand all to well that it can get busy and stressful, but if I had been as rude and as unhelpful as they were where I work I would probably be given the sack..
