In October, we stayed for the fourth time at this wonderful hotel despite the Covid arrangements, we have nothing but praise for this family run hotel. We, my wife & i plus her sister, stayed in ground floor balcony rooms (for the second time) and find that the rooms had been updated and with large, wall mounted, TV's this made our time there wonderful. The food in the evening was both interesting and well prepared, served by staff that wanted you to enjoy yourself. The room service was better than we expected in the Covid situation and no fuss was made whatever we requested. We shall be returning for a 5th time sometime soon.
We have been to Hunter's Moon several times before and our stay was as good as ever. The hotel coped very well with the Coronavirus restrictions - hand sanitising stations were plentiful and the staff were all very careful to wear masks - this was inevitable but we did miss the personal contact. The staff were very helpful the first night we were there as the lounge had no space for our group of four so they brought the coffee and two extra chairs to our large bedroom. Service above and beyond!! Our breakfasts and dinners were very tasty with plenty of choice and the service was always very quick with no long waits between courses. Hunter's Moon is certainly our favourite hotel in the UK and we hope it continues to prosper. We are so sorry you have to face another lockdown and hope you can get through the winter so we can come back next year.…
This is a lovely, family run Georgian hotel. There is plenty of good, easy parking in the grounds. My single room with en-suite bathroom plus shower was spacious, all facilities were good. The room’s balcony overlooked the well stocked and well kept hotel grounds. The menus are varied, comprehensive; they are well cooked and served. The dining area is excellent, and the lounge areas are comfortable. The Georgian tiled floor lounge area is available for guests to have their dogs with them. The staff are all excellent, and do all possible everything make your stay good. Many guests return time after time. The position of the hotel is excellent for walks and the town is easily accessed after a short walk.
Difficult to review during the pandemic but while the front of house staff were all very friendly and happy to help housekeeping was pretty appalling. The location is good and it is great if you have a dog but for the cost it was mediocre.
Lovely Hotel set in a quiet location, with direct access onto the Byes. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the shops and a few more minutes to the seafront and coastal path. Plenty of parking and beautiful gardens. The staff are wonderful (especially Mary and Nikki on reception, who gave extra attention to finding us the perfect room). Thank you both. The food was excellent, especially the 3 course evening meal; compliments to the chef on 16th &17th of October evenings; very good choice, exceptionally speedy service with hot, delicious food. Our room was a good size, good size bathroom, lots of character and lovely view out over the gardens to The Byes. The room was clean and the Covid procedures were excellent. The first night we had a very loud TV in the room beneath us, which is obviously not the fault of the hotel; I think perhaps all older hotels have problems with noise. The second night was very quiet as no one in the rooms surrounding us. Our only criticism of our stay is that the King bed was two singles zipped together, which caused a ridge down the middle of the bed and caused me to roll towards the edge. Once unzipped by us it was better, but when we took the sheet off to do this there was no mattress protector and the mattress was quite stained. Not nice. The beds are apparently new and are pure memory foam. I found this comfortable initially but woke up several times in the night due to having sunk so deep I found it hard to turn over. I only weigh 10 st. My husband found his mattress comfortable. We also noticed that one of the divans was shorter than the other and the mattress was overhanging it, which was a bit strange. The mirror in the room was not fit for purpose. It was too small and too low to be able to dry your hair. Overall though, due to the wonderful staff and superb food, we would definitely stay here again.…
