Really enjoyed my 5 night stay at The Willow Bridge as I found all the qualities I look for in this establishment. Sally & Paul are perfect hosts making you welcome from the moment you arrive, the rooms are spotless, light and airy and the breakfast consisting of local products is the best way to start any day. You don't need to use your car if you don't want so it can stay in the "free" allocated space at the side of the hotel whilst you explore beautiful Sidmouth, the town is basically 5 minutes or 10 minutes if you walk very slow and the promenade another 5 minutes. If you like walking you'll be spoilt for choice and if you are tempted by the nearby beautiful towns and villages there is a frequent bus service to them all. I highly recommend you stay at The Willow Bridge for the full experience and that personable touch that is often missing from larger hotels whereby sometimes you are just a number.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We agree with you walkers are spoilt for choice but some of the hills can make short walks quite strenuous! We hope to see you again.

Having stayed regularly and enjoyed great holidays with Adam at Willow Bridge over the last five years, we returned in March this year to visit the refurbished guest house now run by Paul and Sally, wondering how different the holiday would be. We were absolutely delighted with the changes; Paul was so friendly on our arrival and chatted for ages, telling us what improvements they had done in the winter. The rooms are really lovely, with new beds, new blinds and tastefully decorated; I have never seen so many electric sockets in a room! I think we were one of the first guests this year and enjoyed our breakfasts and accommodation. Paul was always on hand, offering help and advice and has greatly improved Willow Bridge. We have already booked two more holidays there. I looked at the website and saw that there were only reviews from 2019 before Paul and Sally took over; so sorry that the corona virus lockdown that has curtailed there business. We have written this to reassure all guests that they will have an even better time staying at Willow Bridge. Best wishes to Paul and Sally in their new venture.

We spent 3 nights at Willow Bridge and were delighted by the welcome Sally & Paul gave us and the fantastic breakfasts served up every morning.

This B&B is opposite the river Sid and inland from the seafront making it a quiet location from which to explore Sidmouth and its' amenities. We spent a day walking around the town and up & down the front, as well as driving out to Lyme Regis to fossil hunted along the Jurassic coastline. Sally contacted us before our stay to recommend a number of restaurants to choose from and book - a good decision considering the staffing shortages and limited capacity of the good restaurants. However, the best meal we had was eating pizza from one of the mobile (wood oven) pizza vans on the front!

The B&B itself is very clean, modern and well presented. It has a guests' lounge with books, games and a decent size television - something you do not usually see in a seaside guesthouse. You feel comfortable in the B&B's surroundings - as if it was your own home.

We cannot recommend Willow Bridge enough and did I mention the fantastic breakfasts!

Having had to miss two holidays at Willow Bridge last year through government restrictions, we were delighted to finally return on 11th July for a week’s holiday. Hosts Paul and Sally have used their enforced holiday to make numerous changes to the property. As we arrived, we could immediately see that the old garden fencing had been removed and tastefully replaced; the gardens had been tidied up and the water features were now working. The inside of the B&B has now all been completely refurbished since they opened up in March 2020 and looks so clean and welcoming. The old bar area has been removed, making a much larger dining area, where all tables are now better spaced to keep covid distances, with extra mobile screens available where needed. Outside doors and windows were left open so that the air inside was always fresh. Paul and Sally were very friendly and chatty and always offered friendly advice and help. We had a marvelous holiday and can’t wait to return in September this year.

Willow Bridge B&B is in a brilliant, quiet location on the side of the river Sid, only a ten minute walk from the sea front and harbour. We have stayed there regularly for the past six years and had really enjoyable holidays. On our first trip this year (we normally visit three times each year), the thousands of daffodils were an amazing sight. We arrived on Sunday March 19. Paul and Sally invited us to enjoy tea and home-made honey cake with them, and we were told of their improvements since our last visit in September. Our bedroom was one of those where the bathroom has been completely refurbished in the winter; the tables and chairs in the dining room have been replaced. The breakfasts are large and there is a great choice of menu . We had a really super five days here. Many thanks to Paul and Sally and we look forward to seeing them again in July.

We arrived and got a very warm welcome and an unexpected invitation to tea and cake in the garden once we had settled in our room.
We had room 6 which was a bright and airy double bedroom and everything was spotlessly clean. We also had access to a well appointed residents lounge where cold water and fresh milk had been put in a fridge for residents to use. We also took advantage of the lovely garden for pre and after dinner drinks.
The B&B is situated in a quiet area next to a beautiful park and is a 10 minute stroll to the beach.
The breakfast was magnificent, beautifully cooked with a huge choice on the menu.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willow Bridge and Sally and Paul made us very welcome. We were even loaned some fold-up chairs so we could enjoy fish and chips on the beach!
Definitely worth a return visit!

Very happy to provide a welcome with some tea and home made cake - it gets the holiday off to a good start! Thank you for your lovely and detailed review as it really gives future guests an idea of what a stay is like at our B&B. And of course great to be able to enjoy fish and chips on the beach and we were happy to offer our little fold up chairs (those pebbles can be uncomfortable!) We really hope to see you again here in Sidmouth.

Such a lovely B&B. Paul and Sally were very welcoming hosts and couldn't do more for us. The breakfast is delicious, all freshly made using fresh and local ingredients. The location is perfect with a 5-10 minute walk to the sea front. The house is spotless, very cutely and homely decorated, bedsheets and towels smell amazing so does the hand wash! We were even provided with bathrobes to use during our stay which was a lovely touch. We had a fab stay and couldn't fault anything! Thank you Paul and Sally!

I can highly recommend this wonderful B&B, Sally and Paul are lovely hosts and certainly make you feel welcome and the lovely touch was when we arrived Sally offered us tea and cake, you don’t get this offer in many B&B establishments. We stayed in room 6 at the top of the house which was nice and big with en-suite, and king size bed with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels, it was spotlessly clean. There was tea and coffee in the room with our favourite Yorkshire Tea, all other products are top quality and biscuits were a nice touch, you can have the option of fresh milk in the morning which is found in the fridge in the guest sitting room.,USB charging points in the room were also good. The breakfast was amazing top quality produce and plentiful, the cafeteria coffee was indeed very tasty. The hosts made an appearance each morning and took the time to come and chat which was a lovely touch.
Parking was plentiful at the rear of the property, town centre was a 10 minute walk with lots of shops and restaurants. All in all an excellent stay, can’t find fault whatsoever, you have to try this B&B to appreciate everything about it. We will most certainly be returning.

We have just had three nights at the Willow Bridge B&B. Sally and Paul the owners could not have been more accommodating. As soon as we arrived we were offered tea and delicious home made cake in the lovely sunny garden. Because of the COVID situation everything was explained to us in detail about do’s and don’ts. This information was also sent to us in an email prior to us arriving. The B&B is fresh, clean and modern having just had a refurbishment. Our room was at the top of the house number 6 which overlooks the river. It gets the afternoon/evening sun and especially in this very hot weather we are having I would advise to keep the curtains closed otherwise it gets very hot. The bathroom was adequate with a good shower and cubicle and a heated towel rail. Nothing was too much trouble for Sally and Paul. All our needs were catered for and if we needed anything we didn’t have to ask twice. Paul is the chef and his breakfast is amazing. Lovely thick local bacon and sausages. If you have a delicious omelette you won’t need to eat anything else all day, they are massive! We had recommendations off Sally for our meals out and the three venues we chose were very good. We did book these prior to arriving as per Sally’s instructions which is a good job as everywhere was full. The beach is a ten minute walk away from the B&B and all the lovely seaside towns and villages are not more than half an hour away. Will we return, ABSOLUTELY. Thankyou for a lovely relaxing break and good luck with everything moving forward Paul and Sally, you deserve it. xxxx
