Detailed Reviews
Just back from a short break in Sidmouth staying at The Old Farmhouse. Susan and Robin looked after us in a splendid and very friendly fashion, in a spotlessly clean and perfectly-decorated historic property. The area is so quiet and yet it is very easy to walk to the Sidmouth sea-front and shops. The breakfast, suggestions for walks and restaurant recommendations were all spot on and we greatly enjoyed our few days here. Thank you!

This is about the fifth time we have stayed at The Old Farmhouse. We love it here. Susan and Robin have done everything that they needed to to keep themselves and guests safe and well.
We stayed in the same room that we have always stayed in, so pretty and perfect for our short break in Sidmouth.
Walking distance to the town, which is a real bonus.

What a lovely visit to this 15th Century farmhouse. Thatched roof, immaculately clean, lovely owners good bed and full breakfast.
At 6 feet 4 the low beamed ceilings were a challenge! but not a reason not to stay. Just a five minute stroll from the waterfront in a quiet residential area.
Brimming with character, a lovely sunny courtyard for an evening glass of wine, the use of two cottage feel sitting areas and a great breakfast selection, particularly impressed with the grapefruit pre sliced and returned to the grapefruit to avoid the inevitable spray! Bowl of museli starter with toast, then two bacon a sausage whole grilled tomato and your choice of egg with mushrooms and more toast with preserves starts your day well! Highly recommended!

We always stay at the Old Farmhouse whenever we go to this part of Devon. It is a lovely place to stay and is one of the few where an evening meal is available. The food is really good and there is plenty of it! Robin and Sue are wonderful hosts and always make us feel very welcome. It is always sad to leave at the end of our stay

We have just returned to Jersey from a long weekend in the lovely county of Devon where we stayed with the fabulous Susan & Robin Rignall at The Old Farmhouse in Sidmouth. We absolutely loved the location but our visit was definitely enhanced by the wonderful welcome, fabulous accommodation and excellent food which we enjoyed considerably.
Friends had told us that Sidmouth tended to only attract elderly visitors and whilst that was partly true, we found some fantastic shops and restaurants and the surrounding villages were chocolate-box beautiful.
We will certainly be returning and would recommend The Old Farmhouse to anyone wishing to visit the area.

+1
We booked this accommodation at the last minute, through Sidmouth tourist board. It seemingly had the last available room for the two nights we wanted. I explained that I am disabled, and that I have to use 2 crutches. I also explained that we ate vegetarian and asked if they did a vegetarian breakfast. I was told they didn't do vegetarian sausages because nobody liked them! when we arrived (easy to find location) we parked our car in the off road parking space and went into the hotel. We were met by a very enthusiastic proprietor. She showed us to room 2. The stairs were very difficult to manage on crutches, thanks to the banister changing sides, the gap at the top, and the very low ceiling. The room was pretty (as Was the thatched roof) with floral wallpaper And oak beams but not really big enough for my tall husband. The wardrobe Was a rail behind a curtain, the toilet cubicle Was so small you had to open the door before you stood up, And the flush action left a lot to be desired. In the bedroom, the beams were very dusty. Good shower, TV, free wifi, tea And coffee making facilities. Breakfast Was OK, although I didn't feel we were listened to with regard to our order, And there Was no yoghurt available on the Saturday morning. The proprietor And her husband were very friendly, And knowledgeable about the area. They were very helpful when we were looking for somewhere to eat.

We booked at 5.00pm and arrived at 900pm to a lovely old farmhouse. The whole building is well looked after and perfectly clean. Our room was cute and characterful and we slept really well. Lovely hosts who cooked a very tasty breakfast using local ingrediants. No complaints just wished we could have stayed longer.

We have had a really friendly and relaxing stay. Our hosts were so welcoming. From the outset we were met with smiles and shown to our room, which was really comfortable. The food was hot and perfectly cooked - home from home. We certainly won't have any difficulty deciding where we are going to stay next time we are in Sidmouth.
