Debbie and Jason were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was spotless, comfortable and cosy and everything felt very safe. The breakfasts were delicious and we loved the complimentary cupcakes. Parking was easy (and free) and the location was ideal for everything we wanted to see and do.

This guesthouse was a great find when we were looking for somewhere to stay close to the Scarborough Open Air Theatre. We stayed 3 nights; Mon - Thurs; deciding to spend some time exploring Scarborough before the gig. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. We have stayed in some expensive hotels around the world, but the welcome and friendly experience from owners Debbie and Jason in the Kensington was second to none. They clearly value and practice the perfect customer experience. Nothing was too much trouble. They found time to genuinely get to know you, taking interest in our plans, and helped with some great restaurant tips and places to visit. They take great pride in the experience they provide and rightly so. The guesthouse was in a perfect location; both for the open air Theatre and the town, both just a 10 minutes stroll in opposite directions. Of course there's no sea view here, but being such a short walk to Scarborough's fantastic esplanade this didn't matter. The room was small but clean with a comfy bed ( I know people like to know these things!) very welcoming (how about homemade cakes as a welcome for example ... wow!) and had everything you could need, free bottles of water and with a range of teas and coffee too for example. With free parking organised, a fab Turkish restaurant just across the road, great Kensington hosts, neat rooms and a cracking Yorkshire breakfast included, (a range of breakfast options were on offer,) I can't recommend the Kensington enough. Certainly we will return one day soon. Talking to other guests they clearly have repeat bookings and many satisfied customers and we look forward to catching up with Debbie and Jason soon!

This was my first visit away from home since restrictions started allowing it. I have been here before and would not want to go to any other B&B in Scarborough. All the basics are done well: it's clean, comfy, good WiFi, toiletries and spacious room. The hosts are friendly, very welcoming and they could not do more for you. I had no problem parking on the road and was given a parking disc on arrival. I absolutely loved having a choice at breakfast, there is a huge selection both for myself (veggie) and my partner (meat eater) and they are the tastiest you'll find anywhere. We also pre-ordered a selection of sandwiches, quiche, rolls and treats served on cake stand (see photo), these were yummy and catered for all tastes and diets. The home made cup cakes and varied selection of tea and coffee in the rooms were also a great addition.
Well recommended.

Debbie and Jason were great and had though of (and provided) everything we could possibly need. A massive tray of complimentary teas and coffee awaited us in the room as well as Debbie's homemade cupcakes which have to be tasted to be believed.
Such a good place to stay, she even had bags of nuts available as so as we could feed them to the local squaiirels in nearby Peasolm Park.
Breakfast was a treat, the guest house is so well organised we could want for nothing, and a warm welcome was provided at every opportunity.
Looking forward to a return visit!

Just got back from another amazing stay at The Kensington Guest House in sunny Scarborough, the weather was fab. No doubt you will be in need of a well-earned break and fancy hopping on a plane to take that long-overdue foreign holiday as overseas restrictions are eased, but it wouldn't be the same without also having a few short breaks at our home from home in the UK, at The Kensington Guest House in Scarborough.
I don’t know if it’s the salty taste of the air, the feel of the wind on my cheek, the sweet promise of a few hours with nothing to do but be in the moment. Even the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore makes me feel instantly calmer and happier and that's why we always make a point of fitting in several short breaks at The Kensington. Its also good to know that, unlike some B & B's who look for new ways to leverage the rise in fuel and food prices to raise their prices, The Kensington have kept their prices the same. Debbie and Jason always do the best to give all their guests everything they need for the best value for money and believe me they tick all the boxes and offer the best value, they offer so much for so little, an array of delicious home-baked treats, both on arrival with a tasty brew and more in your room, with even dairy & gluten free Cupcakes, the widest and most delicious choice of breakfast in Scarborough, with amazing vegan and vegetarian breakfast options, every taste bud catered for, seriously good, nice big rooms with BIG showers, the warmest welcomes you find anywhere, early check in's, early and late breakfasts, BIG Smart TV's, fridges in the rooms, still not convinced then just check out their reviews. So remember, by all means, take that well earned break abroad if you like, but remember to support those small local businesses, who, like The Kensington Guest House, are there all year round for you, so remember them for that well earned short break as well, we certainly will.

This guest house is amazing. The breakfast is fantastic and the hospitality is second to none. Homemade teas are good value for money too and the cupcakes in your room are a lovely touch. The bed is comfy, there's free Wi-Fi, luxury en-suite and great attractions nearby. Would highly recommend.

A big thankyou to Jason & Debs who run and own the Kensington. Their hosting skills are exemplary and we were made to feel comfortable immediately. The room was spacious and comfortable with home made cupcakes and a good selection of teas and coffee to welcome us. There is a great selection of breakfast choices, and after a goods nights sleep, breakfast did not disappoint with quality ingredients prepared and presented superbly. It's a 5 minute walk to Peasholm Park and not much more into town and the beaches. Excellent value for money, we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Keep up the good work. We'll be back!!

The Kensington is a lovely guest house in a great location in Scarborough with easy access to the Park and Beach.
Jason and Debbie are so welcoming and friendly. The food is amazing and the choice for breakfast is unbelievable!
We had the afternoon tea which was amazing value at only £25 for 2 for so much lovely food! Cupcakes in the room and the huge selection of refreshments on the hotel tray in the room is a great extra.
Felt very safe at the Kensington and cleanliness and hygiene are paramount there so absolutely no issues with spending my time away worrying about Covid.
A much needed and welcomed trip outside of my own house after a miserable 15 months and wow was it worth it!

Booked the afternoon-tea takeaway box for the three of us, myself and my mum and my daughter It was AMAZING. It was packed full of a huge variety of homemade savoury and sweet treats (individually catered to our dietary requirements) and included a bottle of water. It became a movable feast as we started it at lunchtime on the beach, continued it at various stopping points along the seafront and we were still going strong at suppertime. All the items were delicious - my favourite was the home made mushroom and onion quiche, I let my mum and daughter fight over the toffee cupcake. Quality and quantity and a reasonable price - what more can you ask for

Lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was spotless and everything we needed. Our full english breakfast was 1st class with a fantastic menu to choose from including vegan and vegetarian options, cerials, juices etc. Close to the town centre and the North end of Scarborough. Lovely touch with delicious home made cup cakes in our room. Will definitely go back again and highly recommended.
