Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the STATIC CARAVAN not the lodge. Our holiday was spoilt because of the dirty condition of the caravan etc. The upholstery was very grubby, not pleasant for relaxing on. The floors were literally tacky to walk on and had dirt and dust in the corners and around the toilet base. The microwave was thick with grease - my husband spent ages cleaning it - and the gas oven would not regulate so food was spoilt on full heat! Various pans, cutlery and other kitchen items needed a wash before use, and there was a drain smell around the kitchen area at times. Beds were clean enough but uncomfortable. Would not recommend this caravan which appeared very old. Definitely not worth the money.

Dear Kathleen, so sorry you did not enjoy your stay and found items that needed attention which I apologise for the ones that could have been sorted. Perhaps if some of them had been brought to my attention I could have at least tried to rectify. Yes the caravan is not a new one but certain areas have been renewed/upgraded as necessary. The cost with me is between £245 and £470 for a week which I think is good value for money. I do get repeat custom which says a lot but I shall endeavour to avoid the issues you encountered.

Sorry you were cold it was around freezing in the night outside. Regarding a refund, we have a minimum of 3 nights stay in the caravan and I did offer you a 10% discount if you booked again. I do apologise for the grill though and found the knob faulty. Sorry things were not perfect for you on this occasion.

Had a great night's stay at The Harmony Lodge, really nice quiet area. The room and breakfast were great, our host Tony was more than welcoming and pleasant, the fact he's a world sidecar legend is just a bonus! Looking forward to our next visit

Lovely location in well kept grounds with stunning views. The lodge is well maintained and Tony really welcoming. We had the triple room which was large enough for us and a small double. So peaceful and great access to some beautiful areas of national park.

Many thanks for that. We've just added a gazebo in the grounds in the last few weeks. Anybody wanting more space the two Ground floor bedrooms are larger - Radiance (Triple) or Grace (Twin or Double)

The room was spotless and the host was very welcoming. Little extras in the room such as chocolate biscuits were appreciated especially after a long journey. The breakfast catered for a range of tastes and dietary requirements and cooked to perfection. The host was very helpful in finding me a private spot to deal with an urgent conference call once I'd vacated the room. Harmony Lodge has excellent Wi-Fi amenities. The whole ambience is one of peace and is very relaxing. We will definitely be visiting again.

We had a lovely family holiday in the caravan at Harmony Country Lodge. The caravan is quite old and basic, but has just about everything you need and it was a pleasant base for us exploring the North Yorkshire Coast. The grounds are beautiful and the view from the guest house is lovely - you can see the sea glistening in the distance on a sunny day. All in all, for the price paid it was good value for money.

We had a lovely 'staycation' at Harmony Lodge this summer. The room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was beautifully cooked. Me, my children, and my little dog were all made to feel very welcome by Tony and his staff members and we hope to visit again in the near future.

Finding a room for the 3 of us was a struggle, so I was thankful to find this super stay over. A unique building in it's own grounds with views over the countryside with the sea in the distance. Tony made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The en-suite accommodation was well presented with everything you could wish for. Comfy beds made for a good night's sleep. Excellent pre-ordered breakfast. A highlight was glimpsing the hungry badgers coming to supper in the garden. I would be more than happy to stay here again and recommend the Harmony Country Lodge to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Anyone looking for a great place to stay in the vicinity of Scarborough, should seriously consider the Harmony Country Lodge. Owned and run by Tony Hewitt, a former World Motor Cycle and Side Car Champion 3 times. He is an excellent host, who will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as good as you hoped. Rooms are nicely decorated, and come with everything you need for a comfortable stay, wether it be just a night, or like us, a weeks stay. Excellent choices at breakfast, included in the price. Also he is licensed to sell alcohol, just in case you fancy a nightcap. Very reasonably priced, and great value for money.
