Detailed Reviews
Excellent location for visiting Wykeham Forest, Scarborough, and surrounding area. Situated in a quiet rural spot, yet within easy reach Scarborough. The unusual octagonal building affords excellent views from each room, with the rooms themselves being scrupulously clean and tidy. Superb cooked breakfast! Very friendly and inviting hosts. Recommended.

The room was spotless and the host was very welcoming. Little extras in the room such as chocolate biscuits were appreciated especially after a long journey. The breakfast catered for a range of tastes and dietary requirements and cooked to perfection. The host was very helpful in finding me a private spot to deal with an urgent conference call once I'd vacated the room. Harmony Lodge has excellent Wi-Fi amenities. The whole ambience is one of peace and is very relaxing. We will definitely be visiting again.

If your looking for a pet friendly place to stay - it’s the best I have been to. Spotlessly clean with rooms containing all the required facilities. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious- cooked by Tony himself. The grounds are beautiful and there is a large lawn available for walking a dog should you need it. Tony and his team go out of their way to ensure that the needs of guests are catered for. The location of the hotel is perfect, out in beautiful countryside yet close enough to be at the beach in 10 mins. I am already planning a return visit for early next month. I honestly cannot recommend this establishment enough.

I had an extremely pleasent stay at Harmony Cottage Lodge. I am a single woman and the the proprietors Sue and Tony made me very welcome and they were very accomodating. The room was spacious, very clean and everything you would need and more. A great variety of breakfast food. I was so close to Whitby and as I have always wanted to visit I had a quick ride out on my return Tony and Sue were in the lounge area where they made me very welcome, I felt like a long lost family member, coffee, biscuits nothing was too much trouble. The views are beautiful and the setting is very tranquil. I had a great nights sleep and would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful home. Thank you Tony and Sue and I will be back.

Anyone looking for a great place to stay in the vicinity of Scarborough, should seriously consider the Harmony Country Lodge. Owned and run by Tony Hewitt, a former World Motor Cycle and Side Car Champion 3 times. He is an excellent host, who will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as good as you hoped. Rooms are nicely decorated, and come with everything you need for a comfortable stay, wether it be just a night, or like us, a weeks stay. Excellent choices at breakfast, included in the price. Also he is licensed to sell alcohol, just in case you fancy a nightcap. Very reasonably priced, and great value for money.

After a hectic Christmas working we needed a bit of relaxing family time.
This was the ideal place, it was quiet, welcoming and relaxing. The location is ideal to explore the area and on the edge of the national park with fantastic views. We hope to try Harmony in the summer.

Finding a room for the 3 of us was a struggle, so I was thankful to find this super stay over. A unique building in it's own grounds with views over the countryside with the sea in the distance. Tony made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The en-suite accommodation was well presented with everything you could wish for. Comfy beds made for a good night's sleep. Excellent pre-ordered breakfast. A highlight was glimpsing the hungry badgers coming to supper in the garden. I would be more than happy to stay here again and recommend the Harmony Country Lodge to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Just got back from a week's holiday, with my wife and our dog. We stayed at the Harmony Country Inn, just outside Scarborough. It is owned and run by Tony Hewitt, a former 3 time World Motorcycle and Sidecar champion. What a personable chap he is. Always willing to spend time with his clients, and regale tales of his former exploits. Also nothing is too much trouble, and if you have a problem, or require any extra's, he will go out of his way to help, and ensure you have a good holiday. It is also licensed, so if you fancy a quick drink before retiring, then that can be catered for. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is, because we booked the last available room, and it was a little small. I understand other rooms are much bigger, but my wife and I didn't let it detract from having an excellent week's stay, and I have no problem recommending this Country Inn to anyone.

Thanks for your kind words Steve & pleased you enjoyed your time here at Harmony Country lodge :) Because of the octagonal shape of the house the rooms on the first floor are not so big because they are almost triangular but pleased it didn't detract too much from your stay. The triple room on the ground floor is much bigger for anyone with a pet. Thank you also for your good company.

Lovely quiet spot. You can even see the sea . I felt at home here.
Tony and his good lady are lovely.
My husband and I slept like a log in the twin room.
Breakfast was very good.
Tea making facilities in the room with a few cheeky bikkies ( always a bonus).

A last minute booking for the wife's Birthday which turned into a great weekend. The host, Tony was really accomodating and friendly. The hotel was set in an amazing location with beautiful surroundings and had a relaxing feel throughout. Tonys full English breakfast was cooked to perfection and well presented. All in all, a magical, relaxing weekend away and can't praise Tony and staff enough. Would recommend to family and friends.
