The best glamping experience ever & our first of many to come!
We stayed in 'farmsdale' one of the premium lodges, this was just perfect for our family of five. It had all the amenities, cutlery & crockery. The shower worked very well, however the toilet seat wouldn't stay up & the sink water didn't flow as well, but it was all clean & of a good size. The beds were very comfortable & loved the fluffy pillows. The hot tub temperature was perfect with good jets. It was all enclosed & private, yet nice views of the fields opposite.
The lodge even provided matches, dustpan & brush. My only suggestion would be is to also provide a mop in the lodge to clean up wet floor.
Waking up early to feed the lambs & rabbits was worthwhile. The kids also took great pleasure walking Tily the pony. John Percy- the farmer allowed us to take some eggs that were freshly laid. Nothing was too much trouble from any of the staff! Everyone was friendly, helpful & enthusiastic.
Humblebee farm is set in a perfect location with lovely nearby walks, Scarborough & Filey Coasts not to far of a drive.
We can honestly say, we had exceptional service, the whole place exceeded our expectations & the weather wasn't too bad!
As a tip- take a good boot cleaner as it is obviously muddy. Definitely make use of the fire pit with toasted Marsh mellows! 😊
Thank you for giving us a great experience Julia & John. Hopefully we will return one day & share our experience.

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in one of our premium lodges, hot tub lodges called Farndale. We appreciate all your comments and feedback re the lodge, which is spacious, warm and well-facilitated. Thank you for mentioning the views as we are very blessed with the countryside around us. We hope all our guests enjoy seeing the animals (we call them the farmyard gang!) as much as you during their holiday, and we are glad you enjoyed meeting Farmer Percy, who is always busy on the farm. Thank you for mentioning the staff and also our location, as we are not too far from the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. We are so glad to read that we exceeded your expectations, in fact this comment gave us all goosebumps! Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Have just come back from a long weekend here where we stopped in the Rosedale premium lodge.
This was a great few days and it’s always lovely when we visit, the accommodation was lovely and has everything you need including a seating area and hot tub.
The grounds themselves are always clean with lots to do , the kids especially loved the animals and being able to feed them.
Shop onsite is great and so is the cafe , i recommend ordering pizzas when the night is as they are always tasty.
The only negative I would say is the wifi rarely works which can be annoying if the kids need it for an hour in the morning but there is lots to do locally and the farm is based near Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough.
I recommend heading to Hunamby beach as it’s 5 pounds to park all day and the beach is perfect for families.
Would always recommend Humblee Bee (this is our 3rd visit) and will come again.

A fantastic cosy winter weekend getaway with our two adventure-seeking boys (8 and 10 years old). Stayed in one of the Deluxe Wigwam Cabins and we absolutely loved it. The cabin was very well equipped and pre-warmed for our arrival, as was the hot tub which the kids wanted to jump straight into (so that was a relief). The accommodation was really comfortable for 3-4 people with the double bed and the double sofa bed. The setting was beautifully peaceful and on our second dip in the hot tub in the evening was very serene looking up at a clear night sky full of stars, and nothing but the sounds of nature around us. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We will DEFINITELY be returning to Humble Bee Farm

This is a lovely place and can see why it’s so appealing to families. I visited with my partner and although it was really nice there were a few things that annoyed us that I think are worth sharing:
We stayed in the premium lodge with a hot tub which was really comfortable. It was definitely overpriced compared to other similar glamping sites but was perfectly located for us so decided to book anyway on the basis that it would be a luxury treat.
1) I had to pay extra for wood (for the price of the lodge you’d expect a complimentary bag). You’re not allowed to bring your own wood onto the site and if you want any more it’s £12 per bag. Considering you can buy the same thing in a supermarket for £7, I feel that they are making a healthy profit on this.
2) the wifi just didn’t work at all. Not so much an issue if you want to go off grid but I wouldn’t advertise it if you can’t deliver on it.
3) you have to strip your own bedding. I understand during Covid times why this was a requirement for infection control reasons, but we were rushing (for our 10am checkout) to get the beds stripped and trust me, I can go basic and really don’t mind where the price is reflected but it’s frustrating that for £242 per night, you have to do the cleaners job for them.
4) they take a £100 deposit for damages which, after reading the small print on booking terms, you only get back if you phone and request it, otherwise I assume they’d just keep it.
Basically I feel like it was overpriced and a bit of a ‘money grabbing’ business which ruined how nice the lodge and grounds were which is why I’ve had to give it 3 stars based on value for money

Thank you for joining us here at Humble Bee Farm in one of our spacious, fully heated Lodges, which comes with its own private hot tub. We are in a beautiful location, of which we are very proud and we always endeavour to keep our surroundings appealing for everyone. As you’ve gone into considerable detail about the many elements of your stay that ‘annoyed’ you, we are of course permitted to offer a full and ready response for the benefit of review readers. You mention we are ‘overpriced’. What you neglect to say is that the following is included in the Lodge tariff: Up to six guests. Two private car parking spaces. Gorgeous hot tub. All heating, lighting and hot water. Fresh bedding and towels. All crockery, cutlery etc. Outdoor facilities (BBQ etc). Free super fast premium WIFI. Access to the firepit. Access to all the site’s facilities including walks, the farmyard, play areas, the Reflection Garden and more. We also have our onsite café The Hive and a shop/reception for our guests to use. So now we come to your comments with regards to the firewood, which of course is an optional extra. Many sites charge a similar amount and you’ve not mentioned is the wood can be preordered (and therefore delivered to your accommodation by our team). The fee also covers the firepit usage and maintenance by our staff. We make it categorially clear that you can’t bring your own wood in our T&Cs although of course other sites may allow this, it will depend on their own T&Cs and Fire Regs. The cost of the Wi-Fi is included in the Lodge tariff, we provide a premium free wifi for Lodge bookings and if there is a problem with the Wi-Fi, (which is rare) then all a guest needs to do is pop up to reception during opening times and assistance will be given willingly. With regard to the bedding, and guests are doing the work of the cleaners. We strongly deny the comment that you HAVE to strip your own bedding. This is simply not the case. We request that guests strip the beds but it is a request only, and if guests do this, we appreciate it. It is a request only and it is up to the guest to do this or not, as the case maybe. With regards to the damage deposit. Yes, again, we make it clear in our T&Cs that guests do need to call in to get their damage deposit fully refunded. The vast majority of our guests do this and do this without question. We can see your booking was made online, and there is a notice prior to paying about the damage deposit and how this is returned. While you are entitled to your opinion, we have to say that ‘money grabbing’ is not an accurate one. We run our beautiful site as a business that supports scores of local businesses, provides employment for our staff, helps us to maintain the standards on our site including our facilities and helps keep our accommodation portfolio to the standards expected by our guests, many of which return time and again to enjoy. We thank you for the three stars and we hope that our response provides a more balanced and accurate ‘picture’ of our independent, family-run business here in the Yorkshire Wolds.

There isn’t anywhere I would rather have had my children and nephew. We came for bank holiday weekend (me, my mother, my 2 children and my nephew). We got here and went to our wigwam. It’s very cosy and very warm. We had a bbq outside and a fire pit which was so lovely to toast the marshmallows on a cold evening.
My eldest has ADHD. Youngest has suspected autism and ADHD, and my nephew also has autism with suspected ADHD. We didn’t leave the site for the few days we were here as they had a wonderful time at the farm. Plenty of walks around the farm to go on with a picnic. Nice little play area (definitely bring a ball). Tractors to ride on in the barn. Every morning children can go help feed the animals which was thoroughly enjoyable. Games night was so lovely and a perfect way to get parents interacting with their children. The pizzas on pizza night were so tasty. The breakfast sandwiches were the best part about the food I’d say 😋
All the staff were so kind and helpful. All staff went above and beyond for everyone.
You have to pay for WiFi and there’s no signal, but I personally found that was the best part about it. It felt like such a huge detox from normal life. A chance to really have quality time with the kids. Bring lots of games and make amazing memories like we did. We can’t wait to come back next year!

For a friend’s with children mini break we hired to Yurts next to each other. The Yurts were well equipped and the double bed was so comfy!
Pizzas, the bar and facilities were all spot on and our kids loved going to the farm to stroke the animals.
The play area was perfect for our football mad boys, it felt secure and we could hear them playing with all the new friends they had made.
The only downside to the whole site is the Yurts and Pods all feel a little on top of each other and it’s not very private. It’s also a shame that there isn’t really anything to walk to.
Apart from that we really enjoyed our time at Humble Bee’s and would recommend it to others.

Many thanks for joining us here at Humble Bee Farm in our nomadic yurts which offer a lovely rural break here on our working farm. We are so glad you enjoyed the farm, the food and the football field, which are just some of or our facilities onsite. We appreciate all feedback from our guests re: their stay with us. We would like to add there is onsite: three farm walks (short, medium and a longer one) which are just beautiful for seeing the stunning countryside. These are circular ones which are a fantastic for taking in the views around the farm. We also have onsite our indoor play barn, outdoor play area, football field, Farmer Percy Club, the Farmyard Gang, checking for eggs, the duck pond, the interpretation boards (seven of which are dotted around the site offering information about wildlife and farm creatures). Guests can also book to walk Tilly our shetland pony, spot our owl boxes, and enjoy peace and quiet in the Reflection Garden and see our deer sculptures which can be found onsite. We are a short drive from both Filey and Scarborough and there is a pub just under 2 miles away. We hope you can join us again soon and thank you again for staying here at Humble Bee Farm.

Stayed for 5 nights in sunflower meadows (bell tent). Overall a really enjoyable stay. The tents are large and opting for the deluxe version meant we had crockery and cooking utensils provided. We also opted for the extra breakfast pack which was delicious and the sausages sourced from the local ‘Trotters’ farm were a real highlight.
The site is very well maintained and despite our initial concern that the shower / toilet facilities may become overcrowded at no point did we find this to be the case, even though our stay was in peak season with a relatively full site. The facilities themselves were always clean and showers hot, so no complaints there either.
The Hive cafe bar and shop is an excellent addition and range of food / drinks available were ample enough even for our two kids who are very fussy eaters. Staff are friendly and courteous and the shop offers essentials for those you may have forgot to bring. We opted to order the stone-baked pizzas on one of the nights these are available and they were delicious - point to note is that these need to be ordered in advance, before noon on the day.
Farmer Percy was very good with the kids and we all enjoyed feeding the animals on site and the presence of them all the time. There’s very few places I’ve stayed where a trip to the bin could be described as enjoyable, but the option to pet a donkey or pony whilst you’re there is a big plus! The Guinea pigs, big pigs and chickens were always a welcome sight everyday and gave adults and kids something to look forward to.
The Honey Pot play area was great for the kids also, with football posts, swings and a slide / climbing frame. A great way to spend an hour or so if the kids are feeling restless.
All in all an excellent stay and would highly recommend to others. Thanks to all on site for a really nice holiday.

We had been looking forward to our 2 night stay at the farm for weeks after following humblebee on Facebook for at least a year.
We enjoyed our stay but unfortunately it was spoilt by the way the guinea pigs are kept. I informed the reception that they didn’t have any water on the Saturday Morning and when we got back at 4pm their water bottles were still completely empty so I filled them myself. I thought it must be a one off but then I noticed that they didn’t have anywhere to shelter at night (it gets very cold) or any fresh hay throughout our whole stay which is an essential part of their diet. There was a bowl under some soggy straw that was full of dirty water and when I moved the bowl it was obvious that they hadn’t been cleaned out for months. Their enclosure is open and predators such as foxes and cats etc can easily get to them. Lastly I heard some of the children telling the farmer that there were holes in the chicken wire and some of the guineas pigs had escaped. He didn’t care at all and didn’t bother doing anything about it. I told two other members of staff the next day as the holes were still there and they said that they get out all the time and will go back in themselves.
Guinea pigs are very social and friendly pets and they deserve to be looked after properly. As the bare minimum they should have clean water and fresh hay every day and a clean and safe enclosure, sadly they don’t get any of this and it seems they are just used as a way to entice families to the farm. I hope this feedback is listened too for the guinea pigs sake!

Thank you very much for joining us here at Humble Bee Farm and for enjoying your stay with us. We appreciate all the feedback you give us about our guinea pigs, who are in their own ‘pen’ in the heart of our farm yard. As with all comments, good or bad, we have the right to reply and set the record straight, as it were. Following your feedback just before you left at Humble Bee Farm reception, two members of our team continued to care for the guinea pigs. Water, fresh hay and greens are replaced daily and regular visitors understand how we care for our animals, which we will explain in more, below. You refer to the fencing around the enclosure. On the day you departed, this was checked once again, and once all guests had left and any gaps etc were repaired. Food and straw were both placed in the guinea pig pen shortly after you had left the site, and this is done on a very regular basis any way. The guinea pigs are then checked later in the afternoon by the relevant member of staff who is on duty or by the farmer himself. The guinea pigs are part of the Humble Bee Farm experience and if guests made the most of their visit, then they'll have seen we’ve got a healthy flock of sheep, Tilly the Shetland Pony, two retired donkeys, a herd of heritage breed Belted Galloway cattle, ducks, hens and pigs, all of which are looked after by the farmer and his team. Many thanks for your feedback both during your stay and in this review and we hope this had answered your points, given a balanced view to them and revealed to readers of your comments that we very much care for all our animals and that we also take on board feedback offered to us by guests.

Had another great visit to Humble Farm with the family earlier this month staying in the Merry Dale Cottage.
This was the third visit with our daughter (aged 3) who each year appreciates more and more the farm and all it brings. Tilly is her new best friend and collecting an egg for her breakfast on the first morning was in her words ' the best thing ever'.
As always the facilities in the cottage were excellent and the Hive is a nice bonus, although it would have been nice to call in for a beer/food during the day but it was unfortunately only open from 8:30am-10am each day.
Only negative, could the cleaners not try and clean the cottage before we have left, had to walk through puddles of hot tub water to put bags in the car after it was emptied before we'd finished!
Booked again for next year!

We absolutely love humble bee farm! There’s a great choice of accommodation for all budgets. We have stayed in a cabin and a yurt and thought both were perfect for our needs. We loved roasting marshmallows at night and that the kids were able to explore and go to the park safely. The little cafe is great for morning coffee, breakfast pizza night and cocktails if you want a little treat. It’s a great bit of luxury. The kids loved the activities provided like little farmers club and the games night (school holidays) all staff so friendly and helpful. Such a nice vibe here and the kids are already asking to return.
